Supermoon, Jigsaws, Den Building And Walks Our Weekly Photos – Week 15

Walks

Another week in lockdown. How are you coping? Are you working? Maybe a keyworker? Are you going for your daily allocated walks? Is the highlight of the week the essential supermarket shop? I’d love to know what you are doing to keep sane, to keep from running out that door. Keep safe all and stay indoors. We know we have to and there is a good reason for it. Sending you all my love.

We’ve obviously not been out much since I last spoke to you with our weekly post. We are into lockdown week 3. This is what we’ve been up to and I’d love to hear about your week. Saturday I did some blogging, caught up on quite a few posts I’d been putting off. To be honest we’d been so busy at work and with the mental draining of everything else going on in the background here, I’d been too tired to focus on posts in the evening when I’d normally write. I did the cleaning, another thing that is normally done during the week. The kids all pitched in to earn some sweetie money. We got back to our jigsaw that we started at Christmas and now we were really getting somewhere the kids joined in helping. We went for a lovely walk before getting a wee takeaway delivered for dinner. Robert and I finished watching Safe on Netflix and I think I liked that better than Stranger to be honest. Have you watched either? What are your thoughts?

On Sunday we completed the jigsaw puzzle and what an achievement that was. All 1,000 pieces and Aria got to put the final piece in. We sprayed it with spray adhesive on the board we built it on. It is a lovely jigsaw and one I’d like to have put on the wall. As you can see above Aria was very pleased and proud to have completed it. Morrisons delivery arrived with food, so that was good and we got most of the things we ordered. I’d also ordered some bits for an Easter egg hunt and some chocolate eggs in case we didn’t get later. The kids and I played Break out and then ate some cereal and did some more blogging.

Monday was back to work, but I did nip out at lunchtime to the garage to buy a couple of bits and a wee sweetie treat for the kids. Tyler and Aria made some fairy cakes together. They did the whole things including the oven part on their own. I was right there, but they did a great job. They played out in the garden for a bit and when we finished work, we made a start at taking the trampoline down. It had been broken over the winter in the high winds so couldn’t be used which was a shame. In the evening once Aria was in bed, I moved the jigsaw to another room. Unfortunately, spray adhesive isn’t good enough to hold a jigsaw onto the board and the entire 1,000 pieces ended up in a heap on the floor. Yes, there were tears and frustration. I was so annoyed at myself. I knew I couldn’t build it again and the pieces were so sticky with the adhesive that I ended up hiding it in the bin. Shhh. Aria hasn’t noticed yet. Phew. Until she reads this when she is older and in that case, I am sorry.

On Tuesday we were working. Aria built some hamma bead designs and did some drawing while we worked. Aria’s gymnastics has been on via zoom most days, but she hasn’t felt comfortable joining in. She’s quite shy and usually goes with her wee friends. But, she gave it a go and loved it. She got to do some work towards her badges and was assessed too. She joined in for all three classes this week and it was good for Robert to see the type of things she has been doing. Tyler came down to watch her too. They were very impressed. After work, Robert and I went out the back and put down the rest of the trampoline and Robert built the large goal. We played some games outside and chatted to the neighbours. We live in a very friendly wee part and because our gardens all look into one another the kids can chat and play in their own space, but see their friends too which was nice. It really helps with the social interacting that I fear they are going to lack.

Wednesday work was still busy. Aria did gymnastics and the kids all played out the back most of the day while we working. There have been a lot more tears and niggling and arguing with each other this week than the last few weeks when we’ve been working. They have still overall been good, but it has been difficult at times. We can’t expect them to behave and get on all the time, so it’s only natural. They aren’t getting a break from each other either. In the evening Aria and I went out for a walk together with her pram and doll called baby Alexander. She loves her baby dolls. We went past my mums and spoke to her through the window from the end of the garden for a bit. Aria was very chatty and when we passed by a doctors surgery she asked if NHS stood for Nice Health System. I thought that was a lovely name. Then we chatted about midgies and it rained slightly. Aria asked if was raining of it was midgie pee pee. Goodness. She is funny. I did take a lovely photo of the moon when we got home. Did you see it? It was the biggest supermoon of the year and called a pink moon. This is named as it’s the start of pink blossom season, I think anyway. I keep an old camera with settings for taking photos of the moon, so I was quite pleased with this one. It’s not great, but I liked the details.

Working Thursday and Aria made the den using chairs and blankets as in the photo above. Work was busy, but then our internet went down. Robert and I couldn’t answer the phones or do our work. Aria had been doing her gymnastics too and lost connection. But, the worst was the boys losing their games of Fifa. You can imagine. All hell broke loose. Thankfully, it was only a few hours and it came back on. After the stress of that we watched a film together in the evening. We did go out and clap for our heroes and saw our neighbour all out too. Waving, clapping and cheering. I really hope these are the moments our kids remember.

Another week has gone by in a flash and we are at Friday. Good Friday at that. Who knew. I don’t know about you, but every day does feel a bit samey, not as bad as I’m working, for which I am very grateful, but it’s all still a bit strange. Work wasn’t quite as busy with it being a holiday weekend. I got the cleaning and washing done. The boys didn’t get on very well today and we had a few moments let’s just now, but all best buddies by the end of the day. It is sibling day after all. I’ve been looking everywhere for the easter hunt buckets, but they are nowhere to be found. I’ll no doubt find them next weekend.

In other news, I have been doing some novel editing. I don’t want to jinx it, but hopefully, I’m over whatever was stopping me from doing it and I will continue.

Do you have any Easter bunny plans? Sending you all a social distance and virtual hug.

It sounds like a very busy week. You must have been gutted about the jigsaw, what a terrible shame after all that hard work. I hope the boys recovered from the Fifa going down! I can just imagine the drama. That is a fantastic photo of the moon. Sadly I didn’t see it, as it was cloudy.
I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend. x

It still seems to be busy, even if it feels like we aren’t doing much. I was really gutted, but no way I was building it again. Thank you. I love the moon. Such a shame you didn’t see it xx

Oh noooo, such a shame about the jigsaw ! Awww and her little face was so proud at finishing it ! 🙁 You’re lucky she’s forgotten about it though – phew ! I have been dealing with sibling squabbles and general grumpiness this week too. I think they’re just getting bored and fed up of spending so much time together ! I’m just heading into two weeks off and am finally planning on doing some activities with them, and having a good sort out in the house. Looking forward to it actually 🙂

We are trying to split ours up a bit now, think they’ve had too much.

I love the Nice Health System, sorry I chuckled at the jigsaw puzzle mishap, I would’ve also been frustrated. Love that Aria joined in with zoom gymnastics, hope the boys are enjoying the goal in the garden, I’ve also got some lovely neighbours, one is a bit odd but manageable lol. Good luck with the editing.

Oh no!!! I was just thinking spray adhesive thats a clever idea as I am doing my first ever jigsaw and would like to keep it. Hopefully she doesn’t find out. Sounds like the gymnastics is going well. I also tend to write in the evenings but have been struggling with motivation. I am determined to get some written over the weekend. Sounds like the book is coming along nicely x

It was really sticky. I’d say PVA glue would be much better. It is going well. I think it’s hard with everything going on. Thank you x
