Lockdown Week 4, Building, Walking And Easter Our Weekly Photos – Week 16

Here we are at week four of the UK lockdown. How are you doing? Are you climbing the walls? I am doing ok with it, to be honest, but we are busy working at home five full days so it does go quite quick. We are lucky to be keeping well and the kids haven’t been too bad. Pretty good at letting us work and occupying themselves inside and out the back garden. With another three weeks at least, things are getting harder for everyone. I know I’m finding I am tired, but we are grateful for what we have and living how we do.

Since last week’s post lives are still a bit different being in lockdown and having no school and football to occupy most of the kids days. What have you been up to since we last spoke with our weekly post. Last Saturday we worked and played in the back garden, it’s not the biggest, but it’s enough to give them some space to play. I got some editing done. We got a wee takeaway treat for dinner delivered and Robert and I watched Killing Eve for the first time. It was really good. We got through the first few episodes and are hooked. We set up 3 different Easter egg hunts. Aria wanted something a little harder from the Easter bunny this year. It wasn’t the easiest to pull off as the kids are up a bit later than normal.

Up super early on Sunday morning to see if the Easter bunny had visited. A few in the street got letters to say the Easter bunny couldn’t visit this year, but thankfully ours arrived. Easter hunts were done and the kids loved it. Lots of treats and some small gifts were found. Like the ones above. Aria got a lovely Isadora Moon book and costume accessories. We went for a walk in the afternoon to drop off some eggs to the family at their doors. It is strange not having a family dinner together for Easter. Robert and I caught some more Killing Eve in the evening. It is getting a bit addictive. We finished season 1.

It was Easter Monday and Robert and I had the day off work which was nice. Aria and I joined in with Tita’s live drawing on Instagram and created some of the fishy illustrations above. What do you think? I wasn’t feeling so great, so I went to bed for a bit. Just not feeling right. Aria came and joined me to watch Just add Magic. She is enjoying the show as am I. I had an early night in the evening.

Back to work on Tuesday, albeit in the house. The phones were a bit busy and the kids kept themselves busy with playing Fifa, playing football outside and Aria did some gymnastics via zoom. She is really enjoying it and doing well. We built the wooden castle over a few nights which was fun to do together. It looks good, doesn’t it? Just a wee set from Hobbycraft. I still wasn’t feeling great and went for another early night. Aria read her Isadora Moon book to me as my bedtime story which was sweet.

Wednesday was a working day. Just before we finished up work, Robert and I heart a thud from upstairs. Bolting up from our desks we ran upstairs to find Tyler had fallen down the loft staircase. Shaken and bruised, he was in a bit of shock. Thankfully, he was ok. We went out for a walk in the evening and I captured the lovely sunset on the way back that is above.

Working on Thursday. The kids had some sore legs from skipping which Aria had done on gymnastics. I caught up with the washing in between calls. The kids have been playing well today and lots of drawing has been done. Work has been busy, but managed to catch up on a few bits of writing this week. I entered the Write Mentor summer mentoring program and I also entered a writing competition. Got some editing done in the evening. There is some stressful things going on behind the scene but it’s got a bit better today, I think. I got a nice email from an agent too, so need to get the novel polished and ready. It has been hard recently, but I am back working on it.

Friday the final working day of the week. And I’ve promised to make Aria an Isadora Moon bunny. The felt came from hobby craft and we have been cutting it out in preparation to make. Wish me luck as I’ve never made anything like it. But the kids have been so good, we’ve been making more of an effort to do stuff with them in the evening. Cleaning is done and the food order is in for delivery on Sunday. I am ready for the weekend. I am tired, so tired.

I hope you are well and keep looking up at the skies. I’d love to see your sky photos. Until next week. Hugs.

I bet the boys really miss their football. I love the castle, it’s great to complete something crafty. I’m so glad Tyler wasn’t badly injured in his fall. x

The week can go by quite quickly when you are juggling work too – I’m finding the same at the moment. Glad to hear that Tyler was okay – that must have been quite a shock. Love the drawings and the wooden castle and good to see that the Easter bunny managed to get to you in spite of lockdown. Good luck with the editing and making the Isadora Moon bunny. #project366

That’s great news about the email from the agent! Tyler’s fall must have been scary, thank goodness he was only shaken by it. It sounds like the kids are doing really well at entertaining themselves so you can work. It’s not easy when everyone is at home!

Oooh I remember the horrible feeling of “what could have been” when your kids fall or hurt themselves and your parent brain goes through everything that could have happened ! Glad he was OK. The Easter egg hunt sounds great – well done, Easter Bunny ! It’s sad for the ones who couldn’t manage it this year though. Sounds like you have everything going smoothly – work, the book, fun with the kids … long may it last !

Hope Tyler got over his bump. Sounds like Aria’s having a particularly good time during lockdown with all the crafts and gymnastics. I need to get to skipping. N does it for tennis and is pretty awful. But considering I was ok as a girl, I’m now awful too (plus unfit) so want to do more to get a bit fitter.

I love ‘flat-pack’ wooden and cardboard toys. They were always my favourite as a child and I made sure all of my children have had them. There’s something so rewarding – even though I never had a castle as beautiful as that! 🙂

nice they are still playing nicely together and letting you get on with work. who knows when this is all over you may still get the choice to work from home.
The grandchildren were slightly disappointed as DD1 only got them one small egg as normally they end up with half a dozen each.

It’s good that kids let you work uninterrupted and can be busy with their own stuff.
