And I thought my previous weeks had been busy, well this week has been wonderful, filled with love, laughter, balloons, gift wrap and so much cake. Can you ever really have enough cake? Well, normally I’d say no, but I have certainly eaten my fill of chocolate cake. How is your week going? Since we left last week weekly post two of the kids have gotten a year older. Can you believe it? As had my blog. My blog turned 10 years old on Tuesday. I started blogging on Tyler’s first birthday and it was his birth post that started the whole journey off. Who knew ten years down the line, I’d still be writing away. It is incredible to think there are ten years of our history on these pages. It is lovely to look back on and I hope the kids will feel the same when they are older and who knows if I print it off or whatever new-fangled technology there is then. Anyway, Happy Birthday to my wee blog.

So, I left you last week with wee Ty and his sore foot. It got better and although still bruised it is better. He still managed training on Sunday. Saturday we had swimming, some clothes to the recycling centre, went for some birthday cake shopping and then Aria had a go outside on her new bike. The weather has been too wet since she got it, but she had fun.

Sunday was an early start as I had a shopping delivery and Lucas and Robert had football. It was an away game so we didn’t go this time. It was a tough game and don’t think it was the best, they lost 2-3. Lucas’s knee was really sore and he was struggling in the evening, he’d fallen on it in the ice-covered grass. I took Aria to gymnastics in the evening and then I had to make a start on the wrapping of gifts for both the younger kids. I did get to watch some tv though while I was wrapping so that was good. I watched some Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and then Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings on Netflix both were good. I did capture that amazing sky in the evening. It seemed to be pretty up and down the country. You know how I like a pretty sky.

I managed to get a decent amount of editing done over the weekend on my novel. I heard back from an editor so need to work through the changes she suggested and I have an agent who is still interested in reading it after reading my first chapter. Fingers crossed after this busy period is over, I can get my head down and get on. I also finished my first witchy read of the year Summer Thorne Witch, which was a light read, nothing to write home about, but fun. Now I can read A Throne of Swans.

Monday was a super long day at work. A true blue Monday. So busy and I was late getting in from work. Spent some time chasing a birthday gift that still hasn’t arrived. Aria and Tyler had their Burns competition entries to do where they design the badge for the Burns prize. We all worked on them and that was a nice project to do before bed while Lucas and Robert were at football. Tyler went to bed for the last time as a 10-year-old. My sweet baby boy. I set up the living room with his gifts, banners and balloons before heading to be myself.

Waking up on Tuesday morning it was Tyler’s 11th birthday. You can see his photo above for his birthday. I worked school hours to pick him up from school and saw him for 3/4 hour before picking up Lucas from school, dropped off the two little ones at my mums and Robert and I went to high school parents night. They only have one a year and it is Lucas options picking time, so it was important we attend. It was hard choosing that over the family birthday for Tyler, but don’t worry. It is a blur of meeting teachers and running up and down finding all the classrooms for two hours. However, by the end of it, we couldn’t have asked for any better. Lucas is doing great and able to sit all the subjects he’d like. He is quiet in class, but it’s just the way he is. We were proud of him. On the way home, we swung by and picked up the other two and took them out to Cook and Indis buffet that Tyler chose for a later dinner. It was lovely were they sung happy birthday to him, gave him a cake and he got his very first mocktail, which you can see above. He is the sweetest, kindest boy who has me tearing my hair out in equal measure. I will blog about his birthday post soon, I am a little late in them. He loved his gifts and birthday so that was the main thing. He also came second in the maths competition so he was pleased with that.

Another day and another birthday. This time it was Aria’s 7th birthday. It was a happy birthday to our crazy, sparkly girl. Another blog post I need to do. You can see her birthday photo above too and how many teeth she’s lost recently to the tooth fairy. Goodness, how they are all growing. I had today off to get some stuff for her party and get organised for the birthday dinner. The family all came over in the evening to celebrate not one but two birthdays. One yummy meal, lots of family, lots of lovely gifts and two lots of cake and one gluten-free for Robert. You can see the cakes above. How much chocolate cake can you eat in a day?

Thursday was a kind of quiet in comparison to the last two. It was another super busy one at work and I came home with a pounding headache. The boys all went out to football training and Aria and I opened a few toys she’d gotten. I went to my bed fairly early too.

Friday and I am so glad it’s Friday. School hours at work and then picking up the kids to get some party stuff organised for tomorrow. Wish me luck. I’ll fill you in next week. And a busy weekend ahead. What are your plans?

Ten years is quite a milestone and so lovely to have so much of your family’s history recorded through your blog. Hope that next week is a quieter one and good luck with getting more work done on your novel. #project366

I always find it amazing how many people have their children’s birthdays close together – and so often very close to the Mother’s birthday! There must be some genetics or natural reason as to why.
