We are always on the lookout for more crafts to make. With the summer holidays, we have plenty of time to get some crafts done and plenty of mixed weather to go with it. Why not try out our weather mobile craft? It’s simple and easy to make with our step by step instructions. We made this as part of this month’s theme for Tots 100 #BostickBlogger campaign.
Summer Crafts For Kids – Weather Mobile
What You’ll Need:-
- Bostik Blu Stick
- Stick or we used a skewer
- Different types of card or paper
- String
- Scissors
- Pipe cleaner
Step 1
Now, you can use any type of paper or bits of material, anything at all that you have to hand for this craft. The first thing we did was cut out some raindrops out of this blue cellophane type material.
Step 2
We made three raindrops since it rains pretty often in Scotland.
Step 3
We had some sparkly thickish type material which we thought would look great as a snowflake. So, we folded it into a quarter and cut it into a circle shape. Cutting out little tiny bits to make it look like a snowflake. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just fun.
Step 4
As you can see our snowflake is far from perfect. We had some pearlescent type card and we thought it would be perfect for a cloud. Cutting it into a cloud type shape as above.
Step 5
Next up, Mr Sunshine. The one we are hoping to see lots of this summer. As you can see he’s far from perfect. Just do what is right for you.
Step 6
For the lightning, we used a pipe cleaner, but it doesn’t need to be this, we just thought it gave a good effect.
Step 7
Create and cut out a rainbow. This was the lasts on our weather items. What else would you add?
Step 8
Cut the string to add it to the weather items and the stick.
Step 9
We used some Bostik Blu Stick to stick the weather items to the string, then tie the string to our stick.
Step 10
Keep adding until they have all been added to the stick. We left a bit of room between them for effect.
Step 11
Here we have our weather mobile craft. What do you think? We hung it up in Little Miss bedroom. She loves it. This has definitely been one of our favourite crafts and will be making this again soon. Send us photos and tweet us how you get on.
Disclaimer:- We were sent a box of craft materials & Bostik Blu Stick from Craft Merrily as part of being a Tots100 #BostikBlogger, but quite a few we already had in the house.
I do love this, it’s such a clever and simple idea. I’d have definitely made these with the kids in the past – the use of a chop stick is great – wire coat hangers aren’t as readily available nowadays! x
They are a lot of fun and simple to make. Yeah, definitely not something they have now xx
This is a fantastic idea! So clever and creative!
Thank you x
