It’s been a bit of an odd week what with all the horrible news and the uncertainty with the country, I feel like the news should come with a dose of cute kitten youtube videos at the end to soften the blow. What do you think? Since I left you with weekly photos post from last week, it’s been a busy week. Same old there, but I’m having one of those days where I started with the idea of juggling many, many balls in life and they all fell, splat on the floor. You know the ones, you think you have it all down and something or someone throws a curveball to knock you off the pedestal? Well, today I’m having one of those days. Tomorrow is another day and I am sure it will seem like a distant memory come Monday. So how has your week been? Tell me all about it.
Last weekend the weather was amazing wasn’t it? It was so good to have some sunshine and seems to make things a little bit easier to deal with. Did you have glorious sunshine? Saturday we went to watch Tyler’s football match. Aria played with one of the other kids little brothers she knew. It makes a difference for her to have a wee friend there. Tyler’s team won both their games so that was good. I did some shopping in the afternoon and some editing while the kids were outside playing. Robert and I caught up on some tv shows together late on that evening. Sunday, was another beautiful sunny day. Robert and Lucas headed to his football match early. The two little ones and I followed down later as I had to go back for Robert’s team sheet as he managed to lose one. Lucas team were very unlucky not to win, they just couldn’t get the ball to go in the net. It ended up a 2-2 draw, which was good, but sad at the same time. We had an early dinner together before Tyler headed to the elite centre, while Aria and I went to gymnastics. Lucas came along with me but decided to hang out with his cousins instead.
Monday it was back to work and school. Unfortunately, Tyler ended up being off sick as he had a bad earache and temperature. He had a wee day on the sofa with my mym while the other two were at school. I had a busy day at work and was knackered when I came home. Lucas and Tyler were supposed to have football, but Tyler wasn’t feeling great and asked to stay off. That was a first, so we knew he was ill. Lucas did both lots of football training.
Tyler made a remarkable recovery overnight and was back at school that day. In the evening Aria and Lucas were at table tennis with me. I caught up on some editing whilst they played then I went in to see how they were getting on. They both really enjoy it and played well.
Wednesday, I had a meeting at work out at a client. It was such a long day and I was knackered by the time I came home. Aria hasn’t been great with eating and bedtimes recently, it feels like everything is a bit of a battle. So, I pulled out the reward chart, which tends to work well. I just don’t want to keep fighting to get her to bed and eat. Fingers crossed it’s a bit easier next week. We did read some books from the library at bedtime so that was good. I do love bedtime reading.
I got some more editing done on Thursday evening after work and caught up with some writing people on twitter. Both boys went to football and Aria was playing with her friend. Friday was one of those days. I was working, then thought it was a good idea to let everyone else go to an event we were putting on while I stayed in the office. I picked the kids up from school and brought them to work. We had lots of things to do, but I didn’t factor in that it was a usually busy Friday at work. It was ridiculously so and I ended up with loads of calls. We got there and nothing went wrong. I got the kids a McDonald’s on the way home for being so well behaved and helping me out with work. Then, dropped Tyler at ice-skating with his friends. Off to a Friday night disco. Honestly, my baby. I felt like I was doing everything wrong, but I think it was just I was going round in circles trying to do blogging, food shop and everything else that Friday.
My photos haven’t been my usual quality this week, that is because they were all moments that captured the perfect moment in our lives this week. Moments that I wasn’t supposed to capture on camera, but moments that were important to me and to us as a family. Moments that made memories that would last a lifetime. The top one I captured of Aria at table tennis. She really enjoys it and gives it so much attention being only 6. The second one is a moment where my husband Robert and Tyler were chatting at the end of the football match. He does so much running the club and coaches three different teams. It is a lot and it’s all done in his own time. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes from money, strips, booking pitches, arranging games, etc that people don’t know about and sometimes forget it’s not his job. But, this moment here is what makes it all worthwhile. And he’s not just like that with his own kids, it’s all the teams. It doesn’t get mentioned often, but he is a fantastic coach, father and all-round good egg. The other photo was one of Robert where he was taking it all in. I also captured an action shot of Tyler. He is a fantastic wee football, who sets himself high goals and practices constantly. He takes on board criticism and advice and puts it into action. He gives it his all and being only 10, he has amazing dedication. The last one was of a pretty sky. Taken from the window of the car. The weather has sucked up until the weekend, so I had to capture the sky.
Do you ever capture just little moments, that you know you will treasure forever? Have a lovely weekend.
It sounds like a really busy week! Glad that Tyler recovered so quickly and I hope the reward chart is starting to work for Aria. Love the photos at the football. It’s amazing how much time Robert devotes to it. I find it enough that my husband coaches for one afternoon and one evening a week.
Always a busy week I think. Yes, she is getting a bit better thank goodness. He does a lot. I agree, but your husband also works a lot too. x
I’m glad that Tyler is well again, what a quick recovery. I love that your photos capture the little happy moments in your busy week.
Me too. Thank you, just little moments xx
Lots of sporty pictures this week. It’s great that your children take their sport so seriously. Friday sounds manic – days like that are so stressful.
They do and it is so not like me. It was stressful x
I think you have captured some lovely real moments.
I hope bedtime improves, we are the same too, I think it’s the end of summer and they need to get back into routine.

Thak you. She is doing well. Thank you x
Some very serious faces going on with the coaching and glad Tyler is feeling better
Ph yes, there are. xx
I think sometimes there’s a trade off between getting a high quality photo and getting a perfect snapshot of the moment. There’s a time and place for both. Sometimes it’s nice to have something to help trigger that memory and I think that’s what these will do for you.

I think you are right. Sometimes it’s nice to capture those moments. Thamk you x
Crikey you are a bit sporty! I do love that photo – is it his Dad or his coach kneeling on the pitch? Either way, it really does have a big story behind it π
I am not sporty, the kids are. It is his Dad kneeling on the pitch xx
Well done to Tyler’s team for winning both games and sorry to hear he has been ill! First day back in school for us today and I am preparing for all the illnesses to creep in! π Hope you are having a good week chick! x Sim
Thank you lovely. I hope back to school went well xx
Ah great photos – another busy week! We have had a busy one too… xx
Thank you x
your children are so sporty, not photos I’ll ever capture of my son I fear! #365
They are, but never me to be honest x
Beautiful moments like that pass by so quickly you don’t have time to take out a professional camera to capture it. No matter the quality, those moments and pictures are precious. Your pictures are lovely. It must be tough when it was a draw but great to know Tyler practices persistently. Robert sounds like a great coach
Thak you. They are moments I want to remember xx
I love your photos – they’re real rather than perfect and they capture the moments perfectly x
Thank you. The mean more I think when they make you smile xx
Moments is the reason I do these weekly posts and my living arrows post too. As the reason I started the blog was for an online journal. I know they are not the most interesting posts for others and they don’t get much traffic but for me they are really important. xx
I think they are the reason that I started blogging too. It is about recording out moments and memories for me too xx
It sounds as if you have had a busy week and could do with a break. I too am lacking in both lustre and photographs taken throughout the week, though I do love your sunset shot! I agree with the need for cute kittens and puppy shots with all the news this week, it’s been a bit glum! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot
Always busy I think. It can be hard at times. Thank you. I do love a pretty sky. xx
Sorry to hear Tyler wasn’t feeling well but glad he seemed to recover quickly.
Moments are pressure and I always am taking pics with the phone…although not sure the girls are happy with that!
Thank you. I think so too xx
That’s an amazing sky – I’m looking forward to the autumn sunsets & sunrises! #MySundaySnapshot
I think that is fine too x
Great photo of Robert and Tyler!
We have a small table tennis table in our garden, the boys are on it all the time. Hope Aria enjoyed playing x
Thak you lovely. That is so cool xx
