Well, as you can see from the photos above and the lack of Instagram this week, I just haven’t had a minute. It’s been even more crazy busy than usual and I am pretty sure I will meet myself going backwards at any minute. So, what have we been up to since last week’s weekly photos post? Like most Saturdays, it started off with a football tournament for Tyler. I and the other two couldn’t make it. But, he did well and played 6 games. Lucas had a football party so I took him to that with Aria and then we walked the dog before dropping it off at Robert’s sisters. Then, Tyler and Robert came back and we all went to Zippos Circus, minus Lucas. We absolutely love this circus and had the best time. I will blog about it separately, but if you get the chance to go, you should. The photo above was taken just before we went in. The sun was shining too which was nice. Heading home we picked up Lucas and the dog who was walking up with Robert’s twin nieces. In, pack and shower for Tyler before we dropped him off for his very first sleepover party. I wasn’t sure how he would be as he’s only ever stayed with family before and he’s a sensitive wee soul, but he stayed and enjoyed it. I was very proud of him. The rest of us watched some tv, while Aria and Lucas played outside for a while.
Sunday morning was a bit strange without Tyler, but we picked him up to take him to a skate park party after he got changed. He was a tired boy, I tell you. Robert, Lucas, Aria and I went to pick up our first car. We have gone from a 7 seater and a wee run about to a 5 seater diesel and a 4 seater car for me to run about in. We will see how it goes. Anyway, we picked up the larger of the two and then picked up Tyler. Off to Robert’s sisters for a family bbq before gymnastics and with the dog. Father’s day is a hard one for me, I miss my Dad terribly, but nice for Robert and his Dad to celebrate as well as his Brother in law. Aria and I went to gymnastics while Robert went to a football meeting. Aria is doing really well at gymnastics and has moved up stages to work on 4/3.
Monday was back to work and school. The second last week of school for us. It was also Robert’s Mum’s birthday so we went to their house in the evening for a birthday dinner and cake. Tyler did go to football training first, however. It was a lovely family evening, filled with fun and laughter. And the dog.
Tuesday was shorter hours and all three kids went to table tennis in the evening for parents challenge. Robert had a go too and don’t think Lucas was too happy that his Dad bet him. I walked the dog for a bit and tried to get some writing done, but by the time I’d done the washing, put the dishes away, they were back. Tuesday was a hard one as it was 16 years since my Dad died. I miss him every day, but I feel that if I put a wee message on Facebook or Instagram, some how it travels up to him and he sees I’ve not forgotten him. I know that might sound a bit crazy, but I feel it helps me feel better about it. I shared the only picture in existence of my Dad and me in the one picture. The picture above is taken on Christmas Day 1984. I was 7 years old and my little cousin was born the month before. My Mum and Dad are in the picture too. My Mum has the naturally curly hair and I have poker straight hair, crazy. I hope he knows how much he is missed.
Then we got to halfway through the week in a blink of an eye. Wednesday was another busy day at work, but the last full day with the dog, but we didn’t actually have the dog. Robert picked up the wee tiny white car in his lunch break so that was fun. In the evening we both headed home sharp. I was going to be helping at the school summer fun night doing the photobooth and Robert was taking his oldest football age group go-karting for their summer treat. Both were late getting in and my feet ached. 180 kids high on sugar was a bit manic. Not sure Robert’s evening was much easier. All the kids had a ball and that’s the main thing.
Thursday and my Mum were coming home. Busy at work, headed home, had a meeting and picked up the dog. Then my Mum came and we said goodbye. The boys and Robert were already away at football. Aria wasn’t fussed, but I kind of missed it once it was gone. It was hard work, but it’s a nice dog. I just felt bad we didn’t have the time really to spend with it or getting to know it. There just isn’t enough minutes in the day. I caught up with my Mum and her partner on their holiday and the weather.
Before we knew it and it’s Friday. Phew. Let’s see what this weekend brings. I week left of school and 4 days of work left for me before our holiday. I am really hoping to get some writing fitted in this weekend as there is a competition I want to enter. And hopefully, I will have some more photos for next week. What are your plans? How has your week been?
I haven’t been to the circus for ages, hopefully one will head our way soon. Good luck with the smaller cars – we have been doing that but now going back to a 7 seater
It is so good. I hope you get to go to it. Thank you, fingers crossed it works out xx
A gorgeous photo, I don’t remember the girls actually ever going to the circus.
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
You should take them, they’d love it x
Wow, that really is a busy week! I hope things calm down for you a bit soon. I’m sure life will be easier without the dog. I hope the two new cars work out for you. We’ve only had a seven seater for five years and I must say we don’t really need it now. It’s rare for all five of us to go anywhere together any more.
Thank you. It is easier without the dog. I hope so too. xx
What a busy weekend you had. The circus sounds fab and I love the photo. Aria’s gappy grin is just adorable.
Sending love and hugs to you. It sounds like a tough week of missing your dad. x
Thank you. The circus was fab. I know, she’s got another wobbly tooth xx
I haven’t been to the circus sinc eI was a child, aprt from stopping in at one at Millets Farm, but N was bored all the way through.
Aw wyou should totally go to this one. No way you’d get bored x
Love the photos 🙂 I haven’t been to the circus for a few years… I am always amazed by them.
We also have a gappy grin in our house hehe! Hope you have a great week…
thank you so much for joining in with #SilentSunday x
Aww the gappy grin is so cute. The circus is fab x
Your daughter looks so cute with that one tooth out:):) Oh, the circus – hope you kids enjoyed the outing – I always liked the elephants:)
Aww thank you. Yes, she has another wobbly one. They don’t have elephants in this one, but it is fun xx
A busy and – by the sounds of it – emotional week. Great picture of your family back in 1984 and wonderful you have such memories of your father.
Your post with your two kids at the top shows how the generations change hey? There you are age 7 at the bottom and at the top your kids now. What a contrast Susan! #mysundayphoto
It was quite actually, I didn’t really realise it until afterwards. Thank you. It is a rare one. YOu are right. I never thought about that until I read your comment. Aria isn’t much younger than what I was there. It really is different xx
I love that photo of you. I wish I had some of me as a child, I’ve only got a couple of screenshots of pics my sister had. Your Mum must have been a good dresser. I know it’s Christmas but her jumper was the height of fashion 🙂 xx
And it’s not daft leaving messages – I think most people do it x
Ahh that is a shame you don’t have any of you as a child. I have a handful, but no where near the collection I am sure our kids will have as they grow older. My Mum was super fashionable and elegant, she still is. Never leaves the house without her makeup. She would look like this all year round. Aww thank you, I am glad it doesn’t sound daft. x
Oh what an emotional week for you Susan, sending lots of hugs to you. I bet you are on serious countdown for the start of the summer holidays now, sounds as if you’ve had some very busy weeks x
Thank you lovely. We don’t have long to go x
What a busy week! The circus sounds like fun. I haven’t been to a circus in ages.
It’s so much fun, you should definitely go xx
I totally agree that one day you will meet yourself coming back!!!
Busy busy busy, the reason you do not have a dog is you don’t have time for one. so the dog survived and will be glad to be home, your busy household would have been a shock to poor doggy.
We have tickets to the circus as well, we going end of July.
Good luck with the 2 cars, makes sense when two of you need to be in different places at the same time.
Hugs to you, hard when you miss the people that have gone.
I hope your week calms down. The dog is glad to be back home and misses us to be honest. He is great with the kids. Have a great time at the circus it is one of my favourite events of the year, I love it. Thank you lovely xx
Sounds like a manic week, hope you get some chill out time soon #365
Thank you x
Love the image of you and your parents!!!xx
Sounds like it has been another hectic week for you love, never ending at the moment and hope you get some downtime soon! New cars though… that is all very exciting, you enjoy! 🙂 Sim x
Aww thank you lovely. It is very rare one. It is a bit busy just now. The cars are cool xx
I know how hard it is throughout the year with certain dates coming up all the time and the memories that come with it. The circus looked fun. I remember going to one at the old Chessington Zoo. In those days they still had performing elephants!
Thank you. Big hugs. The circus is fab, no elephants in this one x
What a busy weekend and the circus looks a lot of fun X #mysundayphoto #wotw
Thank you lovely xx
We went to see the circus for my youngest’s birthday last year. I think we all loved it and it’s great to have experiences over material objects. #365
It is so much fun xx
We went to a circus last weekend and absolutely loved it. I hope you’ve had more photo taking opportunities – and more down time – this week x
I hope so lovelily. Thank you x
Im sure your Dad knows how much you miss him x These anniversaries can be tough sometimes, my Dad has been gone for 45 years this year! I love that old photo x
The only circus I’ve been to is the one in the Blackpool Tower, we’ve been twice and really loved it both times.
I hope you have a relaxing holiday, you certainly deserve one. Thanks for linking up to #wotw
I hope so. Wow that is such a long time. I feel for you, I really do. I’ve seen the one in Blackpool it is good, but not as good as Zippos xx
Wow, you have had a busy week, hope you get some time to rest over the weekend. Sorry about your Dad, it doesn’t get any easier I imagine no matter how many years have passed.
Thank you. It doesn’t get better, but you learn to live with it x
Can’t actually remember the last time I went to a circus, hope you had a great time. I always forget you break up so much earlier than we do. I hope you have some nice things planned xx
The circus is so much fun. Yeah we go back much earlier too x
What a busy week. Love that family photo, it still looks just like you even though you were only 7.
Aww thank you. Aww thank you x
What a cheerful photo of your two grinning kids! Well done to Aria for being good at gymnastics! You week sounds crazy busy indeed.
I miss my Dad too, he’s never met my boys, and it’s just so sad.
Zippo’s circus sounds interesting, though I confess I haven’t been to the circus since my childhood. I have always disliked the clowns, and for me a circus=the clowns, though I know they are not all the same.
Aww thank you. She has been good. Mine didn’t meet him either. It is so hard. Big hugs. There are no clowns as such, so you might like this one. Hugs xx
The circus looks fab – we haven’t been for a few years, but always enjoy it.
Father’s Day must have been tough. x
It is hard, but these things happen. Big hugs xx
Sorry to hear Tuesday was a bit hard emotionally.
We love Zippo’s circus…so much fun!
It is such a good circus xx
It is SUCH a busy time of year isn’t it? I love reading your posts, how you describe each day . Such a lovely photo there of your little lady with her beautiful pigtails! Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
It really is a busy time. Aww thank you. It is like an online diary xx
Sounds like a busy week before your holiday! Hope you have fun! #MySundaySnapshot
It has been a busy time of it x
Just how much can you fit into a week? As I was reading, I kept hoping you’d finally get a chance to sit down and write! I’ve not been to a circus for years. Good fun. I’m sure you are going to miss the dog. I bet it greets you enthusiastically next time you meet. Summer holidays are nearly here. #wotw
Needs must and all that. I hope so lovely. I do miss the dog a tiny bit, but we see it often x
Love that photo of you with your mum and dad and cousin. I can imagine that Father’s Day is hard, particularly with it being so close to the anniversary of you losing your dad too. I lost my dad nearly ten years ago and it’s significant days like that that are the hardest. Zippos Circus sounds like it was great fun and the school summer fun night certainly does sound manic. Not long to go until the summer holidays now! Hope this week is a good one x #WotW
Thank you lovely. It isn’t long now until summer holidays for you guys. The fun night is very full on to be honest x
Father’s day passed me by without noticing as I was travelling in Ireland with a friend. Sounds busy with all the football going on. Hope Tyler caught up with his sleep. The circus sounds fun, been a long time since I’ve been to one.
Sorry for the late comments, I’m on catch up after travelling for 3 weeks.
We seem to be always busy. He has just about I think. Hope the travels went well x
Sounds crazy ! Your life is every bit as as mad as mine! Sending love your Dad will know how much he is missed. Interesting you miss the dog, you might need to get one? I adore having a dog once you get into a routine its easy and I love walking him everyday x
Yeah, you are busy too. No we won’t get a dog, we really don’t have the time to fit in a dog and wouldn’t be fair as we are out at work all day xx
