A Long Week, Blogging And Cherry Blossom Our Weekly Photos – Week 18

Cherry Blossom

Well, I thought last week was bad when I left you with my weekly photos post, but this week was even worse. Work, oh my goodness, work has been so busy, pretty horrid and long. I’ve been working super long days every day. It’s been hard and I’ve felt like a terrible mother as I’ve been short with the kids, terrible wife as I’ve been grumpy with Robert and not the best manager and work colleagues as I’ve been in a mood there too. Hopefully, things will improve and my mood will too.  You know what it’s like it’s just hard to snap out of it,  but I will I am sure.

Last weekend didn’t get off to the best start with Tyler being upset that his school team lost in the final of a competition. It wasn’t his fault, and he had played something like 11 football matches or more that week. His team did win on Saturday, so that helped. I had to do some work in the afternoon so I didn’t get to my writing group which was a shame, but I did get some writing done later on and then Robert and I had a takeaway, a drink and watched some tv in the evening. We always try to make time to spend together on a Saturday away from phones and distractions. Sunday, was Lucas football match. My Mum visited with her dog and Aria fell outside and hurt her arm. She was too sore for gymnastics and I felt it must have been bad as she’s not gone before. Sunday also so the parent blogging community come together in the #pissoffphyllis campaign to support the amazing Emma from Island Living 365 who is bravely fighting bowl cancel. They banded together to show support and to raise awareness for this horrible disease. So, I am featuring in front of the camera for that this week.

Monday morning was a blah kind of morning. I didn’t want to go back to work and it was the first full school week in a while for the kids. I ended up working really, late as there was a problem at work but had to rush to football as I had all the football equipment in the car which wasn’t fun. Trying to balance the late days with school bags, lunches, etc does prove challenging at times. I was so tired with my medication that I fell asleep sitting up watching one of the biggest battle scenes on Game of Thrones. I’ll need to watch it again, sigh! Have you watched it?

Tuesday, I felt like the worst Mum dropping the kids off while I was on the phone. I felt so bad all day. When I got home I hugged them all tight and made sure they knew how much I love them.

Wednesday the cherry blossom looked amazing and although later than down south it does make everything look beautiful and spring-like. I captured a few pictures like the one above. It is such a shame it doesn’t last too long.

Tyler has been tried this week, not surprisingly, but he’s also been quite down and not himself. He’s usually my wee sweet, kind and cheeky chappy boy. He was outside playing and fell quite badly, which didn’t help either. For as much as our kids play outside and play football constantly, they’ve never really been hurt and I think this causes an issue when they do. He’s also not been sleeping well and saying he’s having nightmares, hopefully, get to the bottom of it soon.

Thursday was another long working day with lots of meetings. I’ve hardly been on social media all week and not in the right frame of mind either. Sometimes it’s just better to avoid it. So, I don’t even have many pictures for my post this week which is quite sad.

Working school hours Friday and hoping to have a good weekend with the kids. I didn’t make it to BlogOn this weekend, which is a shame as I’ve been going for years now, but I just couldn’t fit it in with everything else. I hope all that are there have the best time.

I have said I love the cherry blossom and Aria and I had some fun playing with some on Friday. How cute is that photo of her with it?

Make up for the Mum guilt I am feeling. The weekend has some football, an extended family birthday and they are off Monday and Tuesday next week. What are your plans?

I’ll leave you with my quote for next week “Look for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little harder!” Have a lovely week!

Oh lovely, I’m sorry things are so tough at the moment. I do hope things settle down at work real soon and you get to spend more time with your kids as you obviously miss them so much. Tyler’s problems sound worrying too, what a lot for you to deal with, I hope you find out what’s worrying him and come to some resolutions soon. Great quote to end on, keep it in mind and I’m sure next week will be better. Have a lovely long weekend xx

Aww! Poor Tyler! 11 football matches in a week is an amazing achievement. It does sound like there’s something more going on with him, especially with the nightmares. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Sorry to hear that you’ve had a tough week with long hours at work and struggling with grumpiness. It is so hard when you are overstretched and busy. I hope that next week will be a better one for you. I like the quote that you finished with – it’s pretty much my mantra for every day and it’s true that it is much harder on some days than others. The cherry blossom is so pretty. Just the sort of thing to help cheer you up. Hope you have a good weekend x #WotW
