It’s been the second week of Spring Break here and I’ve had some of the week off to spend some time with the kids since last weeks weekly photos. We have seen animals, watched Care Bears, Disney on ice, a visit from Oreo and more. We started to the weekend on a high after going to see Dumbo. We did some shopping on the Saturday during the day as we had a new Aldi open, we couldn’t not go and check it out. Aria was very excited it sold Unicorn ice-cream cones. Of course, those were bought. Saturday evening I went to Aria’s best friend’s Mum’s hen night. Hen nights make me feel a little uncomfortable when you don’t really know anyone, but I knew a couple including my sister in law so that was good. It was a fun night and lots of drinks were had.
Sunday morning, thankfully I was too hungover. Aria and I watched the new Care Bears show. I love that I can share a toy and film that I loved as a child myself with her. And they haven’t really changed all that much. They are still the same characters, do the same things and still light up the room. Care Bears and Sindy were my two favourites as a child. Shame Sindy didn’t survive from the 80’s. Do you have a toy that you loved as a child that is still about?
We finished Sunday with gymnastics and an early night for me. The kids have had a busy week. Monday Robert and I were at work. The kids were with my Mum at home and had lots of fun playing football outside. Although, now we have had some neighbours complain, but not sure if it’s because our street is busy with cars just now as the road in front of ours has roadworks so they are cutting through ours. Time will tell. We came home to little Oreo bounding towards us with a little bow in his hair. I got some photos of him since he was just back from the groomers. Football training in the evening.
Tuesday Robert and I were off work. It was a glorious sunny day and we headed through to Blair Drummond safari park to see the animals. There are a few more photos on my Instagram, but I loved the photo of Robert and the two younger ones in the wild animals in transit shot and the one of Aria as she climbed out. We had a wonderful day there, it was dry and the kids loved it. The big kids too. I will blog more about it separately as it’s such a great place to visit.
We ended the day going to Callander where I spent a lot of my childhood as my parents had a caravan there. They were also married there. It’s a beautiful wee village and one I have fond memories off. We had some chips at the duck pond before heading home for Lucas to go to table tennis.
It was back to work Wednesday. The kids went to Robert’s parents and went to inflataworld with their cousins. Then out for dinner. They had the best time and a lovely day. I had such a busy time at work trying to cram 5 days work into 2 and make sure everything was covered.
Thursday and Friday Robert and I were off work the last two days of spring break. Thursday, Aria and I went to see Disney on Ice. I absolutely love Disney on Ice. I went as a child and have loved it ever since. It was lovely to share it with her. Robert had a football presentation for the sponsor of the oldest teams strips. He works so hard for the club and I don’t know how he does it all.
Today, Friday, we went swimming. The kids choice. I had wanted to go to the seaside, but we don’t get to go swimming all that often so it won. I’m not keen on it, the whole getting changed, ready in cramped changing rooms isn’t my ideal day out. They loved it, we had lunch and then I worked on the garden, well cut the hedge, while the boys went and played football and Aria played outside. There we have it spring break.
To be honest, the kids are only back 4 days and off for a long weekend. Not sure what the plan is for the weekend, we do have football, but you never know a trip to the seaside or a folklore place of my choice might be on the cards. I will fill you in next week.
Writing wise, I need to get on with it, but it’s getting there. I will keep you all posted. Have a lovely weekend and let me know what you’ve been up to?
It sounds like you’ve all had a lovely week and I love the photos from the safari park. Oreo looks very cute with the bow in his hair.
I am totally with you on swimming! It’s not my idea of fun either – too wet and too cold (but too hot if you’re spectating). Glad the kids loved it though. My daughter loves it too. I prefer her to go on her own or with friends! x
We have had a lovely few days. The bow is crazy, isn’t it? Oh I am not a swimming fan. It’s a hassle to get everyone dried and ready. xx
Some gorgeous pictures! I love the Care Bear – I used to collect them all when I was younger!
Aww it is nice to see something from when you are younger xx
It sounds like a fab week!
Oh wow! I did not know Care Bears were still around. I did love them when I was little.
Fab photos x
Thank you. It’s been a lovely week xx
I loved my Sindy doll, I had a house and all sorts.
It sounds like you’ve had a nice week. I never really liked going swimming, but once you are in the pool it’s great fun. Then you’ve got to get dried and dressed in that small cubicle again. Oreo is so cute he looks like a cuddly toy. xx
I had a Sindy house too, it was by far my favourite toy. It was a nice few days off. Yeah, it’s ok actually swimming not getting ready though xx
I love the photos – as always looks like you’ve had lots of fun… I love the sound of Disney on Ice… Isla would love that.
Thank you so much for linking up to #SilentSunday x
Thank you it was fun. Disney on Ice is so good. Thank you x
Love the wild animals in transit and the one with Aria breaking free. Oreo looks cute. i love swimming but hate it when i’ve ever had to get anyone else dressed, just too hot
Thank you. It was a fun day out. He is a sweetie. Yeah it’s a pain x
How lovely that Care Bears are still a thing! Oreo does look cute #365
I know it’s nice isn’t it? Thank you x
What a fun week you’ve all had. Oreo is super cute and I love all your photos. Zac has outgrown Disney on ice unfortunately, this is what he told me, we’ve been to a few, but he no longer wants to go. I’ve never outgrown it lol, I think you are never too old for it.
Thank you. He is a sweetie. Aww that is a shame. It is such a good one. Me either xx
Sounds like you managed to do a lot, within a short space of time, well done! I had a Sindy doll, she was my favourite. My boys start their spring break this week, it’s already filled with things to do! x
We do try when we have little time off. I loved Sindy, she was my favourite too. Hope you have a good time x
Wild animals in the cage made me laugh, brilliant X #mysundaysnapshot
It is a funny photo op isn’t it? x
Sounds like a busy week!
Unicorn ice cream cones sound interesting..
I keep wanting to go see Disney on Ice…should just book soon!
It looked nice, I didn’t get a look in though. It is such a good show xx
What a great capture of your family in the transit vehicle. I’m surprised that we are not all off at the same time. #365
lol it is funny. I couldn’t not take it. xx
Lovely photos of Aria, she is one cute lady. And so is Oreo, totally sweet.
The Unicorn ice cream cones sound awesome. Did they taste nice?
Wild animals in the cage made me smile.
thank you. I don’t know, she didn’t give me a bit. I had to take that photo op x
I’m glad you managed a few days off to have fun as a family. I know what you mean about trying to cram five days work into two!
It was really nice. I know, it’s not easy is it? xx
chuckled at Robert’s face in the cage, sounds like a fun day out. Don’t think I have been to Callender, but nice to go back to places and bask in the warmth of your memories.
Great that the grandparents take them out and about when they have them, makes you feel less guilty about working.
I remember the care bears well, my girls liked them, such sweet innocent creatures with hearts of gold.
I love Callendar, you should go, you’d love it there. It does, my Mum doesn’t take them out much, but she does crafts with them. Carebears were such great characters. Yes, Robert does like to pull faces xx
We are yet to watch Disney on Ice – one day (I may add it to my ‘to do list’ for 2020). Thanks for sharing and linking up with #mysundaysnapshot.
It is so good. Definitely next time xx
That Care Bear looks epic – I loved the show as a child and it’s really nice that our children get to appreciate it too. I cannot wait to see Dumbo, we should have seen it by now really! x
I think so too. Dumbo is really good. xx
I loved Sindy 😀 My sister had Barbie, which was really new to the UK back then. She killed Sindy, I’ll never forgive her.
I know, I hated Barbie too. Sindy was far nicer. It really took me a long time to allow her into our house. Even now, I make her face the wall 🙂 x
