Rainbow Sloth, Snow Selfies And Snow Fun Our Weekly Photos – Week 5

2nd February 2019 By Susan Mann 60 Comments

Goodness it’s been a cold one hasn’t it? Who else has had snow since we last chatted during last week’s weekly post? Last weekend was a little quieter than the week had been. Friday night I did some blogging, chatted and played with Aria while the boys played Fortnite and FIFA. Saturday we went to Inflata World. A new inflatable place which is loud, busy, bright, filled with inflatable obstacle courses  and kids love it. My migraines, not so much. The lights really affected them. I should ha e had my migraine glasses, but I’d forgotten to lift them. Anyway, the kids enjoyed it and it was a lovely way to finish off the birthday treats along with the most gorgeous rainbow sloth from Build a Bear that Aria fell in love with.

Build a Bear is a magical place for soft toy loving kids. It hits hard on the adults wallet, but it’s worth it to see that smile, the love and nurturing your child gives that bear. Of course, the Rainbow Sloth has to have its own outfit. Thankfully, we stopped at one. He’s come everywhere with us. Who can resist him?

An away football match in the cold was Sunday morning for Robert and Lucas. The rest of us declined with the option of staying in the warmth. They came home cold, but filled with the after glow of a win. Lunch and an afternoon of chilling which included gymnastics being cancelled. I got the kids showered, bags packed and ready for the next school week. In bed so I could get some writing done.

Monday morning comes around quickly and it was back to work and school. Interviews are taking up time at work and it’s been a busy week.

Waking up on Tuesday morning we get a whole load of snow. I did the school run and walked the younger two to school in the snow. Like my snow selfie? Not often I’m in front of the camera. The way home we had some fun with snowballs after I’d been to work.

Football training cancelled the rest of the week. We aren’t getting into the positive numbers for the snow to melt. It’s so cold. School and work followed. Some issues have made for a draining week. But, everyone is good. The migraine glasses are helping my eyesight and the migraines, although still there aren’t as severe at times. I’ve not got as much writing dome as I’d hoped, but I booked a 121 with an agent later on this year.

Today, Friday I had my first ever Costa coffee in the coffee shop and a cake. Not only that, I was on my own and did some writing. I felt like a proper grown up. The doctors advised me to drink coffee in the morning to try to help my migraines and tension headaches, and do you know what it does. Who knew? I never drank coffee before, but I’m starting to get used to it. Straight up black Americano, please? Check me, being a coffee drinker! Lol.

This weekend Robert is in Amsterdam on a stag weekend so it’s the kids and I. Football is already cancelled, the pitch is still white, crazy. No plans as such, what about you? How’s your week been?

You have had a snowy week! Such beautiful photos of you all. It’s felt unbearably cold here this week too. Wow, who knew that coffee would help migraines? I don’t drink coffee either. My husband drinks a lot and my sons are getting into it too.

Now I would have thought that coffee would have the opposite effect!! How strange is that but if it works then thats great. We have never been to build a bear, I looked online at the prices as my eldest love Pokemon and it scared me! Looks like you had loads of fun in the snow. We haven’t had any this way the than a tiny sprinkling much the kids disappointment. Hope you have a nice relaxed weekend.

I thought the same. Something to do with the chemical triggers. It is such a great place to visit, but expensive. We did have fun in the snow. xx

We haven’t had any snow. Part of me is glad because I won’t leave the house in the snow and I’ve had to go out, but I have missed how pretty it all looks when it first arrives. Aria looks very happy with her sloth, my daughter has a rainbow bear from Build-a- Bear. For 11 years she had a new bear every birthday, including one on the day she was born. The other two have not been so keen on them. I went to Inflata Nation with my kids just before Christmas and it gave me a headache. In fact I get a headache when I go to any indoor play centre, right from when they were little and went to soft play. I hope my kid’s have appreciated my suffering over the years (oh there are advantages to them growing up!) Not sure I have a favourite photo this week, but I do like your selfie and your purple coat 🙂
    xx

Aww what a shame. I hope you get some soon. It is hard to get out and about though. It’s ok when you don’t need to go anywhere. Aria loves her sloth. Aww the rainbow bear sounds cute. It is really bad isn’t it for headaches? lol I am not sure they will appreciate it until they are parents themselves. Thank you lovely xx

Love the snowy pictures Susan, and I agree that Build a Bear is so much fun for the kids, but not good for our wallets. I can’t believe you have just had your first Costa coffee, and glad they seem to be helping with your migraines. Who would have thought, as you are usually told to stay away from caffeine with migraines x

How odd that coffee helps with your migraines. I was always told to stay away from caffeine when I used to suffer with them.

Oh I can understand that. It is such a great shop though. I didn’t think it would help either, but I think because it’s not a trigger and something to do with the chemical it releases in the brain. Thank you, I might try to get out more often xx

Ah now that snow looks like fun! We had the tiniest bit down on the south coast. Just enough for one or two snowballs but not much more. Football here tomorrow for my youngest and it’s out at a ground we haven’t been to before so we are going on a hunt for it today so that there is no panic first thing tomorrow!

I’ve spent hundreds of pounds in Build A Bear over the years! No snow in my part of Sheffield. Everyone jokes that this is the ‘fag end’ of Sheffield and everyone forgets about us including the snow! I would have thought the caffeine in coffee would have had the opposite effect on your migraines but I’m glad it’s helping. Personally I can’t stand even the smell of coffee!
