Birthdays And An Awesome 10 Year Old Our Weekly Photos – Week 4

Awesome 10 Year Old

Birthday Cake

What a wonderfully exciting week it’s been with no one but two of my children becoming a year older since my last week’s weekly post. It has been filled with laughter, cake and sparkles, the way it should be. How has your week been?

Last weekend Lucas and I had an appointment down the centre, so we did the supermarket shop, had a nice lunch out and we all went down to the shopping centre. Sunday was all about football. I went to the watch the match and boy, it was cold. So cold. They played well but didn’t win, good game though. Then it was gymnastics for Aria. Lots of the weekend was taken with birthday prep, a bit week ahead.

Monday morning saw us up early for Tyler’s 10th birthday. I can’t believe he’s 10 and you can read all about his year. It’s been a good one. He had a great birthday morning, opening his gifts, getting waffles and chocolate spread for breakfast and we all sung happy birthday. Lucas went off to school and then my Mum came over to take the kids to school while Robert and I went off to work. Tyler was not a happy bunny about having to go to school on his birthday. A promise of a birthday treat after school helped. We took a half day from work so picked the kids up from school and went into Glasgow. Taking the kids out for dinner to Cozmo’s for a birthday treat. They had a great time and it was lovely to have a meal out and have some fun.

It was back home for a chocolate birthday cake, more singing and eating and as soon as the kids were in bed it was time to switch everything over for Aria’s birthday in the morning. A not as early rise for Aria, it was her 6th birthday, don’t even get me started on how we got there so quickly. We had to open gifts and do birthday breakfast before Lucas left for school. We got another nice surprise with a snow fall. It was coming down thick and fast. Aria was very excited. We walked to school in the snow and had some fun throwing the snow on the way. Aria was quite happy to go to school on her birthday to see her wee school friends and get happy birthday sung to her. She wore her badge proudly. In the evening, we were having the family birthday dinner for both kids and lots of more cake.

After school, they built a little mini snowman which was fab and enjoyed some more of the white stuff. We had to re-arrange birthday dinner to the inlaws due to the snow, but that was all fine and we had a lovely time. Kids had a ball and got lots of lovely gifts. It is so lovely to see them enjoy birthdays and appreciate family and of course cake.

Waking up Wednesday morning I was knackered. The kids were knackered and after such a high of the last few days, it was quite a comedown. But, the kids were still on a high with new gifts to set up and play with. It was back to school and work for us all and it was quite a long day at work. Football training was cancelled in the evening due to frozen snow. So it was nice to have a night off. Especially for Robert as he does a lot.

Thursday was much of the same and the snow was still hanging in there. Roads icy and pitches unplayable. It started to melt come late evening, so hopefully, it’ll all be away a the weekend.

I’m glad we have reached Friday, it’s been a long week and work’s been tough. My head isn’t in the right place just now, lots of factors, but it’s just not. So, I’m glad it’s the weekend. Today, Friday, however, it is Robert Burn’s day so it’s haggis for dinner and a listen to an ode to the haggis. Thank goodness for Alexa as she can do that now. The kids love haggis too, so that helps. I am looking forward to it and we have gluten free haggis bites too.

How has the snow been where you are? Have you had much?

On the writing front, I’ve not got much done this week. The kids birthdays took up the start of the week and to be honest I was knackered and emotionally drained the later part. I got some done, so it is some and hope to get more done over the weekend. Hoping to get back into the routine as I had a good thing going.  Until next week.

How has your week been?

What a lovely birthday week, although I can imagine how exhausting it is to finish one and get straight on with the next week! Sorry to hear that work has been tough. The snow sounds fun. I think we had about a millimetre!

Awww Happy Birthday to the both of them. Sounds like a lot of fun was had by all. I am totally jealous of your snow. We’ve not had any yet and both of mine are desperate for some. Although if it comes I would like it to be enough not to try and go to work. Sorry to hear about the book, hope you are feeling better next week and able to get on track. It’s so tough juggling everything so don’t beat yourself up xx

What a bumper birthday week it has been for you! We live in a relatively low lying part of Sheffield so no snow here. The kids have been very disappointed about the lack of the white stuff.

What a week! It must be so busy and so much fun with two birthdays, but yes, I imagine there’s then quite a comedown. We’ve only had a sprinkling of snow here in Birmingham, but I think there’s more forecast this week. The kids are thrilled! x

Happy birthday to both of them, great that you make two separate meals out and tha they dont compromise and share.
Love her cake, and really like his t- shirt.
We got a smattering of snow overnight and some more in the morning but nothing that stayed. Shame some of the family did not get there due to the weather.
