Horse Racing, Disney On Ice, Birthday And Parents Night Our Weekly Photos – Week 40

6th October 2018 By Susan Mann 20 Comments

Musselburgh RacesDisney On Ice

Last week I left you on my weekly post, I was feeling rough, I hope things would’ve gotten better, but no. I ended up in A&E on Monday after work as I was really struggling to breathe, feeling sick and lightheaded. It was very scary. I got checked out and it is looking like I have a bad viral infection. My body is probably run down after the sickness bug I had a few weeks ago and my kidneys. So, there I was off work for the rest of the week, so much to do, but I worked from home a bit and rested mainly. Eating and drinking is a bit of a chore, but I am trying. Not ideal with the blog, the kids, etc, but I have been struggling. I’ve never been off work for years and years sick and now, twice in a month, it’s not like me and I am not liking it at all. I am still feeling very breathless and sick. It could be quite a while before it lifts they have said, but I am hoping not and trying everything and some to get rid of it. Sorry for going on, I hate moaning about me.

Last weekend was busy, it was my birthday and 11th wedding anniversary on Friday. I had a lovely cake and such a cool candle as you can see in the photo above. I treated myself to a massage and facial which was nice and then the family came over for dinner and cake. It was nice and I got some lovely gifts. Robert and I haven’t been out for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but best to wait until we are fit to do it.

Saturday, Tyler had football and won his match, so he was happy. Aria and I went to see Disney on Ice. I went to my first one when I was 12 and have loved it ever sine. As you can see, I may have been most excited about it. I will do a separate post on it, but it was incredible. Sunday, after football, we went through to Musselburgh for their family race day. It was so much fun and something a little different. I will posts about this too. We bet on some horses, had a picnic and even met a unicorn.

It’s not been easy juggling everything from my sick bed, but school is fine, homework done and football training still continuing.  Tyler had a school trip to Dynamic Earth which he enjoyed. Aria has been practising for her part in the harvest festival next week. Lucas is getting into the swing of more homework from different subjects. Thursday evening was parents night. I wasn’t sure I’d make it but managed to get out. It’s not far and Robert was with me. Both Aria and Tyler got great reports. Kind, caring and smart kids. They are doing well in all aspects and do everything asked of them, what more can we ask.

Still, in my sick bed, Friday. Suitably fed up. Lucas went out to the ice-skating disco on Friday night. It’s hard giving him that independence, but lovely to see and hear all about it too. This weekend is about football for the boys, resting for me and I am doing a rubbish clean up on Sunday. What are your plans?

So sorry to hear that you are still unwell Susan I really hope you can get back to normal this week. I think our kids can surprise us when given a bit of responsibility. My big has just started attending a club on Fridays and goes himself. It was scary letting him go at first but he loves it! #mysundayphoto

Bless you Susan. So sorry you’ve been so poorly. I hope you manage to get some rest today and get your strength up again. Have you tried that Metatone medicine I mentioned? I promise if you take that it will help you feel better in a few days. It will help you recover quickly and get your appetite back. ❤️

Hi Susan, you’ve done the right thing by resting, it’s the best road to recovery. It is odd when children start wanting their independence and they’re ready to take it long before we feel comfortable giving it…. OooOOooo you met a real live unicorn????? I am sooooo jealous. Did it have a pretty coloured uni-horn?… That is one hell of a candle on your cake, it looks like a little stick of dynamite!

We have visiting relatives from Malaysia for a few days. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling so poorly. I know what you mean – the idea of being curled up in bed with nothing to do but rest always seems appealing, but after the second day I’m desperate to do anything again …

So sorry to hear about this illness. Take it easy and be good to your self. It will pass and you can enjoy that anniversary dinner a little later.

Really hope you’re feeling a bit improved and that once this shifts, that’s it for a while. Always nice to hear teachers say good things about your children isn’t it.

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. You have every right to moan. It sounds like you have had a rotten time health wise lately.
A day at the races sounds like a lot of fun.
Well done your kids. It sounds like a great parents evening.

Hope you are feeling better now Susan. It’s tough parenting when sick, even more so when there are activities the kids need to be taken to.

I’ve never seen Disney On Ice, I agree you look a a bit more excited than Aria does..

Well done on the school reports. Hopefully next week’s post sees you feeling better.

Sorry to read you are still feeling bad and may not feel better for a while. I am with you, hate being off work ill,but needs must. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and give into it, but difficult when you have children to cope with as well.
Glad you got to parents night and that they are doing well.
