It’s been the school October week here so it’s been a bit of a different week. Last week I left you on my weekly post, I was feeling a bit better, but still not great. This week health wise I’ve been still feeling much the same. The breathing is better which is good, but I am still feeling very queasy and my jaws ache, so I struggling to drink. With a kidney disease, this isn’t good and I can feel it taking its toll on my body. I had another wee health issue, so it’s set me back, but other than being really drained I feel things are going in the right direction. I just need to learn to take it easy when I can, but I’m justs plodding along. How has your week been?
Last weekend we had no football with it being the school October week so we made the most of it and went away for the weekend to Northumberland. I will blog all about our trip separately, but for not let me just summarise the awesome time we had. We travelled down on the Saturday afternoon, after a highly nutritious MacDonald’s lunch. We got to the caravan and checked in. Then, headed straight to the beach. It was warm and dry. We flew kites, built sandcastles, jumping in the water, collected shells and flew a frisbee. It was so much fun. Do you know, I’ve never been to the beach when it’s not been the summer and it was amazing. I think it might be my favourite time of the year to go. I could listen to the water for hours. It was just lovely. As you can see the kids loved it too. We went back to the caravan for some dinner, board games and watched Moana. Such a great movie.
Sunday, we were up early to make the most of our last day. We walked along the beach, visited a few week places and then headed to Warkworth Castle. It was such a wonderful place to visit, steeped in history. We all enjoyed it and then stopped for some ice-cream before heading home. It wasn’t a long time away, but it was our time and we make the most of our weekends together.
Then, Monday morning comes round all too quickly. Thankfully, the kids were off. They went over to the inlaws for a fun-filled day out with their Grandparents and their cousins. They went bowling and had a great time while I was at work.
Tuesday I had the day off. We watched my mum’s new puppy for a bit. Have you met Oreo? Isn’t he cute? We tried to take him for a few walks, but he wasn’t so keen. The kids are smitten and Twilight is coming round. We made a load of crafts including these robot ones and went to the park. We had a living room picnic lunch and went to see Smallfoot. It’s not a bad film. The kids enjoyed it.
It was back to work for me on Wednesday. It was a busy day and the kids were at home with my mum and Oreo. They played games and the boys played Fortnite. Took the puppy out for a walk, well went it would walk. I had an appointment at night, so my mum put Aria to bed until I got in.
Work and back to football training are where we were on Thursday, the nights are getting darker and I’m glad it’s Robert that coaches and takes the boys to football and not me. Aria and I watched some Worst Witch.
Woohoo it’s Friday, I made it. I had the day off to spend some time with the kids. I went to get my jaw checked out first though as it was really painful. Today, Friday, we tidied out the loft playroom. It was badly needing it. I don’t get a lot of time to do these types of things and it was worth doing. They are loving the space again. One half for the boys and one half for Aria and all her Sylvanian families and kitchen toys. I did some Christmas shopping and we played together for a bit.
Tomorrow it’s back to football matches and we have a bit of a busy weekend with some stuff. I will fill you in next week. I hope you have a good weekend.
I’m glad you managed a good weekend away despite being unwell. It looks like a lovely spot and a fun time had by all. Hard not to love a beach visit.
Ugh, hope you’re feeling better soon. That pink sky in particular is a gorgeous shot!
glad you are feeling some what better. Great pink sky shot and I love the pink bucket and spade in her hand on the beach, a nice plash of colour. LOve the beach at this time of the year
I love the beach shot. I hope you can find some peace from your illness Susan. It’s our half term this week. I’m hoping for some good weather so we can hit the beach too. #mysundayphoto

Lovely beach and sky – we are missing a trip to the beach this half term. Hope you are feeling better soon.
OH i do hope you start getting your health back soon, it must be so hard continuing with your busy life while not feeling your best. I’m glad you enjoyed your break, I have to admit, I love the beach better on cooler days (not that I can actually go on the beach anymore.) I love listening to the sea and when it’s hot and the beach is full it’s hard to hear.
Isn’t Oreo just the cutest puppy! x
Glad you are feeling better and that puppy is just the CUTEST!!
Oh that pink sky is a winner!
What a cute puppy. Glad you had a good break in the end. I love beaches out of season too, so lovely! 🙂 #sundayphoto
Oh no I am sorry to hear you are still not feeling your best.
We do have some fab beaches in Northumberland. hehehe
Fab photos! The puppy is so cute x
Hi Susan, I’ve heard that Northumberland is a lovely part of the UK. I feel so lucky that I have always lived relatively close to a beach all my life. Beaches are so different in winter but very calming to walk. How nice you got to enjoy some quality family time together… I hate leaving the house after dark in winter when it’s cold and miserable. You’re lucky to have your very own football coach to escort your sons to practice… And Oreo looks as sweet as his namesake tastes.

Another busy week. Soudns like the trip to Northumberland was a nice break. I love the beach any time of year but don’t often get there out of summer months.
Hope you’re feeling better now lovely. That sky is amazing! I’m hoping to get to the beach this week, I much prefer it this time of year. #silentsunday

Looks like you had a lovely weekend away and I think you needed it. Northumberland is one of my favourite places.
Such a great selection of pictures, I particularly love the last one the colours are stunning!
I’m so sorry that you are still feeling so rubbish, it must be taking its toll on you. It sounds as though you had a positive week though, in spite of your health and your photos are gorgeous as always and that sunset is amazing
Castles are so intriguing!!
We’ve never been to Northumberland but I have heard great things about it and up until last feb half term I’d never been to a beach outside of summer either! x
