When I left you with last week’s weekly post last weekend it was our October week from school. We finished off the week with a busy weekend. Saturday morning Tyler had football, we had lunch and headed to the ice-skating rink which is next to my work. We hadn’t been there before as we have one in our town but thought this one might be quieter to help Lucas learn to skate. He’s been enjoying going to the ice-skating disco but needs a bit more confidence in the skating part. It was fun, we all gave it a go. A spot of shopping in the afternoon for our twin nieces birthday gifts. Aria had other plans and fell in love with these Disney ear muffs from Primark. With the look of this weekends weather up here, she might have the right idea. She couldn’t wait to try them on before I’d even taken the label off. Cute aren’t they?
Sunday was the girls 12th birthday. I can’t believe those teeny tiny girls that my sister in law gave birth to are 12 already. We started the day with a football match for Lucas and then went to my sister in laws for family birthday dinner and not one, but two awesome cakes. They had a lovely birthday and we got them the Harry Potter sorting hat, so it provided some after dinner fun. It was a late night, but we all had a great time and Aria was looking very grown up in the picture above. Her hair is getting so long too.
It came around too quickly, Monday morning always does. It was back to work and school. They needed the week off, but on the whole glad to be going back. The boys had gotten haircuts at the weekend. They get their own choice of haircut, within reason as long as they ask for it themselves, which they do. They like to have things cut into their hair like stars, etc, but know that’s a summer thing. They look so different with haircuts, don’t they? Lucas grows like wildfire, it’s crazy.
I had Tuesday off as I was going to the doctors. I still haven’t been feeling great as you know. I am struggling to keep up with everything as I’m so tired and drained on top of feeling poorly. Don’t get me wrong, I am feeling better than I was, but I’m still not right. I got lots of tests at the doctors, blood, samples and a flu jag which, I happened to have taken a reaction to and have a huge swollen, red, burning arm. Lots of witch hazel is helping. I’ve got some new tablets and hopefully, things start to calm down.
Every evening at least one of the boys have football training, which means Robert is there too. It is a lot, but it’s all worth it. I did get to capture the gorgeous autumn tree before the sun went down when on the school run with Aria. The trees are such a gorgeous colour, aren’t they? The year’s last smile. The sunlight is strong and makes the photo even more special I think.
Wednesday and Thursday was a school day for the kids and work for me. They have been enjoying the days Oreo has been over and he’s getting used to walking. Work has been busy and most nights I’m going to bed after dinner. I don’t get dinner until after 9 pm by the time Robert comes in from training. I’ve started reading again which is good and I’m enjoying herb tea which seems to help ease my stomach.
I had Friday off to catch up with all the things I’ve fallen behind on blog-wise, home wise, kid-wise and writing wise. I got through very little of it, but better than none. Not great today, Friday. I got some junk cleared out that house. This evening, I am watching the new Netflix show The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Only watched one episode, but it seems good. Have you watched it? Now I’m off to read my creepy book. Well… it is that time of year.
This weekend is another busy one, football matches, snow boots to be bought and a writing meeting in Glasgow. You? I hope you have a good weekend.
I’m so sorry you are still not feeling good, t his had really been dragging on now and must make your busy life very tiring. I do love that photo of Aria, she is such a pretty girl and how grown up the boys look with their new hair cuts! Have a good weekend. x
It really is getting me down, but I will get there. Thank you lovely. They are getting so grown up xx
Wonderful autumn colours
Thank you xx
Poor you Susan. Hopefully you will keep improving and be fully recovered shortly.
The boys look very smart with their haircuts.
I haven’t seen the Minnie Mouse Ear Muffs over here., but I think I might K ow someone who will love them as much as Aria does.

I am so fed up of it to be honest. They look so different when they get it done.
They are from Primark, you need to get in there for Little Miss x
You really have been through the mill with your health, bless you. It sounds like an eventful half term. Ours is only just beginning!
Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better. The kids all look very happy and I love that tree shot 📸 💕 #Mysundayphoto
Aria looks lovely in those earmuffs. Popping back to say thank you for linking up to #PointShoot 📸
Good morning Susan, for some reason I imagined ice skating discos to be a thing of the past, so glad to see they aren’t and I hope that Lucas got the hang of it. I’m sure there must be special padded pants to wear to cushion bums… Aria has got good ear muffin taste. I may be laughed at but I’d happily wear those too… Sorry to read that you still aren’t feeling quite right. You must have been unlucky with the flu jab, but at least you’re covered… I love that top photo of the tree, it looks like something right out of a fairy tale, all magical and mystical… It is that time of year to get stuck into a little creep stuff. Have you tried The Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix? I’m almost through it, and it’s nicely creepy.

Nothing worse than feeling ill when nobody has a solution for you especially when it has been going on so long.
Love her ear muffs, they really suit her. Certainly has been cold enough to use them.
Lovely colours in the tree.
Beautiful autumnal leaves. I’m surprised that the colours are in fact present all year round but we only see them at this time of year. #MySundayPhoto
