Sunrise, Siblings, Selfies And A Future Dream Our Weekly Photos – Week 36

So how are you all? The weather has certainly changed and gotten chilly here, looking forward to those crisp mornings of autumn. Last week’s weekly post I had been chatting out our week, football, work, etc. How has your week been?

Friday night was a bit of an eye opener into the teenage life when after Lucas went to 1 to 1 football training, home showered and out the door to ice-skating with friends. His cousins were there too, so his Aunt took him and picked him up for me, meaning I didn’t need to take Aria out late. Robert was at a work event. Lucas strolls in high as a kite at 10:30. Honestly, he’s a better social life than me. It was all good and he was safe and had fun. It’s nice to see him having a bit of independence and wanting to do these things, he never would have before. High school, so far, has been good for him and all those weeks of worrying, seem to be slowing easing.

Saturday morning was Tyler’s football match. Robert was coaching the other team in Tyler’s group, but we all went to support. It was a dreich day, but football is what it’s all about. When we came home, Lucas had been telling us all about a bakery he went to before school. He told us we had to go and have a roll and square sausage and a cake. That was just what we did and do you know what, he was right. Poor Robert, had to have something else, as they aren’t gluten free. He did get a gluten free cake to make up for it.

On Sunday, it was Lucas turn for his team’s football match. He’s playing his first year of 11’s and it’s very different with the bigger pitch, flags and a referee. Robert has had many a sleepless night over the up and coming season. He does an amazing job running the club and coaching, as do the other coaches. I really take my hat off to them all. Neither game went their way, but they played well and didn’t lose by much. If they have a smile on their face coming off it’s worth it. After football, we’ve had a few things that broke in the house, a flood under the sink as well as a broken dishwasher, all related. Robert, Mr non-diy replaced all the pipes and got it working. What a star.

During the week has been filled with work, school, football training and looking after my mum’s cats. I’ve been watching Chesapeake shores on Netflix, and re-watching some Charmed.

I asked Aria to draw a picture of what she wanted to be in the future. I expected a fairy, unicorn or rainbow, but instead she said she wanted to be a mummy justs like me. She drew herself with a little baby that has the same colour of her she does. How sweet is that?

Tuesday was such a long day and I had parent council in the evening. It was a long meeting as it was the agm too. Wednesday I captured a beautiful sunset.  It’s been fun watching Aria playing outside with some friends that live on the street. Tyler has been missing his brother with him being away earlier in the morning, getting home later and doing different things, but he did bring them both home little treats from the shop he went to after school. I didn’t really realise how much it would affect him as I’d been so worried about Lucas starting school, I never thought about the adjustment Tyler was going to have to make. He misses his best friend, probably more than he knows too. He’s still his sweet, caring self and loving watching The Great British Bake Off with me. It’s his favourite show.

Friday was a busy day. I had the day off to catch up on some stuff and I got a fair bit of re-writing done on my novel. I am still plodding away at that even if I’ve not mentioned it here for a while. I picked the little two up, went to the shop and then we went to watching Lucas try out for the high school football team. There was loads of kids trying, so time will tell. Aria took a selfie of us both in the car while we waited. She’s pretty good at it, much better than I am. Lucas then had 1 to 1 training. He’s still going strong.

My mum’s been away on holiday, so we’ve been feeding her cats and one is poorly.  Tomorrow, she needs to take it to the vet for the ultimate decision. Sad, but it is 18. She’s taking it badly as it was one of my Dad’s cats. But, he’ll look after her in the sky. The rest of the weekend is filled with…  you guess it, football. And possibly a spot of baking. What about you? Have a good week.

Aria’s drawing is so sweet. All three of ours love to draw. They each have different styles and it provides some real insights into the way their minds work. I love to see whatever they have come with!

Wow, what a busy week you’ve had! I’m so glad school is going well for Lucas, but sorry to hear that Tyler is missing him. We never had that with my kids. Football is definitely different when they move up to 11 a side and the bigger pitch. My son has his first match next week and they’re up to 40 minutes per half this season!
So sorry to hear about your mum’s cat. No wonder she is so upset. x

It is always busy it would seem. It is good they are still good friends though. That is a long time. I think we are 25-minute halves just now. It is a big step. Thank you x

Lovely photos as usual, Aria is very good at selfies 🙂 Sounds like a busy week, I’m glad you are well again now. I’m so sorry to hear about your mum’s cat, it’s hard to let go sometimes. We lost two of our 17 yr old cats a couple of years ago, they went within months of each other. We have our new kitten now to keep us on our toes.
    Have a lovely week x

Busy busy busy…..what a week you had.
It is nice for them as they get that bit older and get a bit more freedom but still in a controlled safe way. Strolling in at bed time becomes a habit and not be long till you are in bed before him.
Love Aria’s picture and what a lovely thing to want to be. That was my ambition when I was young – and think I did an ok job at it.
