Space Crafts For Kids

Space Crafts

I have really enjoyed creating this month’s Tots 100 #BostickBlogger craft which is based on the theme space. It’s a theme I actually enjoy and you can check out last year’s space crafts I created too for extra ideas.  I hope you like these crafts. Let me know what you think of them.

Button Moon Craft Items

Space Crafts For Kids – Button Moon Craft

What you’ll need:-

  • Bostik Fine & Wide Glu Pen
  • Yellow Buttons
  • Stick on Stars
  • Black Card
  • Sequence

Starting Moon

Step 1

I loved Button Moon as a child and this inspired my craft. Take your black cardboard and draw your moon outline.

Draw Moon

Step 2

Once you have the moon outline. It’s time to start adding your buttons.

Use Bostik Glu

Step 3

Use the Bostik Fine and Wide Glu stick to stick on buttons.

Stick on Buttons

Step 4

We felt since it was a moon it was best to do it with yellow buttons, but it’s your own choice.

Moon Shape

Step 5

Add your yellow buttons to the full moon shape.

Keep Sticking

Step 6

Continue to add to the moon shape yellow buttons.

Button Moon

Step 7

Once you have all the buttons filled in, it makes the moon shape.

Fill in with Sequence

Step 8

Add the sequence to the spaces in between the buttons.

Moon

Step 9

The moon taking shape.

Add Stars

Step 10

Add sticky stars to your cardboard to add an extra effect to your moon.

Step 11

Our button moon craft. I cannot wait to make more of these in different options.

Space Crafts For Kids – Window Star

Window Star Craft Item

What you’ll need:-

  • String or ribbon
  • Lolly-pop sticks
  • Cellophane
  • Bostik Glu Foam Pads

Lolly-pop Sticks

Step 1

Take your lolly-pop sticks and stick them together using Bostik Sticky Pads.

Create the star

Step 2

Stick the sticks together in the shape of a star.

Outline Star

Step 3

Create your star outline.

Adding Cellophane

Step 4

Next, add cellophane to the star.

Cut to size

Step 5

Start to cut it to the size for the star.

Add cellophane using Bostik Glu Dots

Step 6

I found that the Bostik Glu Dots worked better at holding the cellophane in place. Cut the cellophane into the triangle shape of the star.

Add cellophane

Step 7

Keep adding the cellophane until all the triangles are covered.

Once cellophane is done

Step 8

Turn over it should look like this.

Add String

Step 9

Add the string to your star for hanging up.

Window Star Craft

Step 10

Hang up on a window and see the light change through it. We think these would look great with a lot of them together.

Space Crafts For Kids – Galaxy Slime

Galaxy Slime Craft Items

What You’ll Need:-

  • Bostik White Glu
  • Contact Lens Solution
  • Bicarbonate Soda
  • Stars and glitter
  • Food Colouring
  • Tub

Add bostik glue

Step 1

Add a small amount of Bostik Glu to your tub.

Add Bicarb

Step 2

Add a quarter of a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the glue.

Stir

Step 3

Stir until dissolved.

Add food colouring

Step 4

Add a small amount of food colouring. We used gel food colouring and chose purple to make it galaxy style.

Add stars and glitter

Step 5

Add stars and glitter to your glue.

Mix

Step 6

Mix all together.

Add Contact lens solution

Step 7

Add 4 drops of contact lens solution. The solution must contain boric acid to react with the bicarb.

Mix it together

Step 8

Mix the solution altogether. It should start to go spider web-like. If it still really sticks add a few more drops of contact lens solution.

Knead

Step 9

You want to knead the slime for about twenty minutes and it will start to get less sticky and more slime like. If it’s too sticky you can add some more solution, however, add too much and it will start to snap.

Galaxy Slime Craft

Step 10

Galaxy slime stretching. What do you think? It’s easier and less messy than you think.

Pin for later.

We used to make those window stars when I was little – we’d use sweetie wrappers and used saved lolly sticks and I thought they were made of magic 🙂
