We were invited to have some jumping fun at Flip Out Glasgow just before we headed back to school. We haven’t been before, so the kids couldn’t wait to go as they’d heard so much about it. It is much bigger than any trampoline park I have been to before and has a few different things to offer than the norm. It’s simple to find just over the motorway and plenty of space to park. it is quite busy, so I’d recommend you book before you go. Simple to do online and you can fill in your details, meaning you don’t need to do it when you arrive.
When you arrive, you are promptly booked in and handed special Flip Out socks. These have special grips at the bottom. You can bring your own pair back rather than buying them again. There are lockers for your shoes which are £1 which is returned. Then it’s time for the safety video. It’s short, sweet and a few questions answered. Next, it’s time for the good bit. We were booked in for an hour, which I think it right for our first time, but it does go really quickly. I think you can book 2-hour slots too. It’s not easy to capture pictures when they are jumping. In Flip Out there are over 200 trampolines, it really is a lot when you see it. There is also a ninja warrior course which is very cool, a soft play style climbing area, a bungee run and much more. It is decorated with graffiti-style art and has various Glasgow iconic landmarks, like the Duke of Wellington which is a really nice touch.
There is a fantastic and huge football area that the boys loved and played alongside many other boys enjoying a kick about. I can’t take these boys anywhere and they are wanting to play football. They loved it though.
The goal area has the trampoline and the boys bounced about trying to save the football. It was a lot of fun. There is the area’s around the trampoline area where parents and carers can sit while watching the kids burn off some energy or why not take part yourself? There is a wide range of ages there and loads for adults to do too.
Football isn’t the only sport they cover at Flip Out, there is also basketball as demonstrated by Aria. There is dodgeball too, which looks fun. The ninja warrior course has an easier one and a difficult one. Both looked impossible to me. Robert and the boys tried each of their levels and did well, but certainly didn’t complete it. A few more trips before they can try out for the tv show.
There are a few areas which look a bit like mini soft play areas, with slides, ball pits and climbing walls for younger ones. Aria loved this area and had fun trying to climb up. With a few different events on at different times, Flip caters for everyone. From parent and toddler sessions to autism-friendly sessions. There are even some adult flip fit classes. Or why not have a birthday party for the kids there?
There are several different foam pits throughout the arenas. There is one for younger jumpers and as you can see you can jump right off the trampolines into this. There are rules beforehand about only one being allowed in at a time. Safety personnel are never far from where you are, who are happy to answer questions and make sure the safety of the bouncers has adhered too.
A lot of fun being had and the smaller one like this is much easier to get out of than the larger one.
Aren’t great colours they? Lucas jumped off the large trampoline right into the large foam pit. He didn’t find it quite so easy to get out of but managed it. Each child has a band, for the group they are in when they need to go out and also one for their height is appropriate. This allows staff to determine which sections each child can go on quickly and easily.
There really is something for everyone and at every level too. You can do forward flips, to just bouncing. As long as you follow the rules, the kids or adults will have the best time and sleep well that night.
I would highly recommend Flip Out Glasgow for the young to the old. There are loads of different activities to do there. Lots of rooms for parties and various different classes to book. The staff were helpful and friendly and the safety guidelines are around the park as well as in the video. Glasgow also has a cool looking VR Arcade, which we didn’t do, but hope to in the future. This is an additional option and cost to the trampoline park. With a cafe and a seating area, it’s a great day out for all the family. The cost for an hour is £11 per child. There are gift vouchers which would make a great Christmas gift. I think it’s good value for money, not an every week thing, but a treat and a great way to get some exercise in. Do make sure you give it a go too.
Disclaimer:- We were invited along for a free session for the purpose of this review, but all words and opinions are my own.
