Football, Kitty, Books And Bouncing Balls Our Weekly Photos – Week 37

Nothing new here, but it’s been a busy week. Work, school, football and just life in general. It feels like I am meeting myself going backwards so to speak. Please, tell me I’m not alone? Last week I left you with my weekly post I was talking about my mum’s cat and Lucas and his football. Well… that’s still there. My mum got some medicine for the cat, it’s still ok, but unlikely to still be here on next week’s post. Sad, but it’s had a good life and hopefully, I’ve gotten through to her this time. Lucas and his football story, this kind of his to tell one day. For now, it’s all about training and helping him best we can.

Last Saturday we went to Tyler’s match, it was dry and it was good to watch. Nothing exciting on Saturday afternoon, the food shop got delivered from Morrisons, which may have changed my life these last few weeks and the kids had some fun playing outside with it being dry. We had my favourite Saturday evening with a takeaway, some suits on the tv and spending some time with Robert. Sunday saw Lucas and Robert headed further afield for a football match. It was pouring from the heavens so Aria, Tyler and I made our excuses and stayed dry indoors. We didn’t just laze about however, we baked, made some space crafts, did some chores, coloured in and read books with Aria. As you can see above, she is loving being an independent reader and as a five-year-old, I am impressed. Lucas and Robert came home freezing and soaking. After some food and warming up, he got to work on his homework. It is certainly different from primary school. He was telling me all about the different subjects and what he’d been learning. I have found Lucas to be much more talkative and enthused by his days at high school than he ever was at primary. It’s really lovely. Much more challenging for all of us, but so far it’s encouraging.

Monday was a long day. Busy both with work and when we got home.  I’ve found it quite difficult this week with some news from other people not being the best. I wish I could fix how people feel, but I can’t. I can only be there. I have found this week a bit trying with one thing and another, so wasn’t on twitter and Instagram as much as I have been recent. Football training in the evening and bedtime reading with the younger two. It’s tough as Robert doesn’t get in until after 9 from training so we have dinner then and the boys have supper.

Tuesday, I worked shorter hours to drop the kids off at school and pick them up. Aria and I did her homework and we played with a bouncy ball while we went to pick Tyler up from school football. I managed to capture a great shot of her catching a ball. I love it. Then, I took Tyler, a few other boys and Aria to Tyler’s training. Normally Robert does it, but he had a committee meeting for a football thing. it was funny to year them all carrying on. It was pouring down, I really don’t know how these boys still come out after running around for an hour dripping with rain and still a smile on their face.

Midweek and we are closer to the weekend. Work is busy and just some stuff going on. I did watch Great British Bake Off with Tyler, he loves it. We are always a day behind due to his training, but it’s our thing once Aria is in bed. He asked me if I could do what they made. I told him I wasn’t sure. He said I should go on Nailed it! I said, thanks Tyler. For those who’ve not watched Nailed it, it’s funny, it’s on Netflix and it’s the opposite of the Great British Bake Off. Tyler tried to remedy it by telling me I’d win obviously. Hmmm.

I captured the photo of Twilight on Thursday. Wouldn’t the life of a cat be simply bliss?

I had Friday off work. Nothing exciting, I had to wait in for the gas engineer. I did have a breakfast with Aria’s friend’s mum which was nice after Aria fell out the door on the route to school and got a stone stuck in her hand. Not the best start to the day. I got it out and all was good. The gas engineer needs to come back, but we still have heating and hot water, so it’ all good. I’ve been quite emotional today, things just getting on top of me, kids, writing, just everything really. We all get that way I’m sure. Tomorrow, Saturday, Lucas and Robert have their first ever Scottish cup game. It’s a huge deal for them and I know Robert is very nervous. Lucas not so much, he’s off out ice-skating. How things have changed. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Hope you are all good, had a good week and have a good weekend.

Oh my goodness, what a busy week! No wonder you’re feeling emotional, there’s so much going on. I hope the cup game went well. It’s lovely to hear that Lucas is talking more about school now. So sorry to hear about your mum’s cat, that must be hard for you all.

A busy week. Just ferrying children around to various activities is enough, I know. I love the photo of Aria catching the ball. Hope her hand is better. #MySundayPhoto

And breathe ! I don’t need to have a busy week, I just need to read through your posts and I’m exhausted! I’m glad you manage a little down time every now and then. Your photos are lovely as usual. Good to hear that Aria is reading well and the boys enjoying their football. It’s always lovely to see a photo of the gorgeous Twilight too. Yes, a cat’s life would be nice, my two are lazier than me! x

You are such a busy lady, it’s ok to feel a bit stressed with such a busy schedule. I need to sort out online food shopping, I must spend at least 3 hours of my week going to different shops for certain foods. I just wish I could get everything we like in one shop.

I’m very sorry to hear about your Mums cat, I’m sure it’s had a wonderful life, never easy when it’s their time to go. ❤️

As always beautiful photo’s and I love your crafts, always such great ideas that I often use when childminding.

Hope you have a wonderful week, enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Hi Susan, we all get weeks when things get on top of us and we just want to retreat. The good news is it does usually pass and I hope this coming week is easier for you… How much time must food shopping online save? I really dislike shopping, but it’s not a thing here and finding houses would be a nightmare as in the sticks we don’t really have addresses… How lovely that Lucas enjoys his new school, I hope his enthusiasm continues… It’s a shame about your Mums cat, and it’s always hard to accept when a pets life is nearing the end. Although if I ever came back as a cat I’d want to be sure it was as a thoroughly spoiled and loved pet cat.

A retreat sounds good. Online shopping does help. It is shame about her cat, but it was old, so it had a good life. i really hope his enthusiasm continues too xx

It’s great that Lucas is enjoying secondary so much. I think the new subjects do interest them. I’m feeling much the same about being so busy at the moment. I am always exhausted. Hopefully it will get better soon.
