Pink Hair, Words in the Sky And Shopping Our Weekly Photos – Week 31

Words in the sky

This week has been a week or juggling work, kids and injuries. Last week’s weekly post ended with us doing our back to school shopping. Oh wow, that was a new experience with one going to high school for the first time and then Aria and stubbornness with her own style.  She certainly knows what she wants that one. It poured most of last weekend, in fact, it’s hardly been sunny since we got back from our holidays. So, hoping it comes back. We jumped in the car, two build a bear friend from our American adventure came with us on our shopping spree. We got almost everything we needed, including all the stationery. A few black jumpers, which seem to be harder to get than I thought and we are done. Phew.

We also watched The Incredibles 2, which Tyler was desperate to see. He’s not great with the cinema as I’ve mentioned here in the past, he’s highly sensitive to baddie music and gets really frightened, but this one was great and he thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Monday, saw the start of football camp for Tyler’s football team. Lucas went along to help the coach with the younger kids, any excuse to fit in some football. They both enjoyed it and it breaks up the day a bit when we are at work. Tuesday, I got a call to go and pick up Lucas. I’ve never had a call before, he got injured while playing. I drove up to get him and the poor soul was chalk white, even more, white than his usual Casper the ghost look that both he and I usually sport. He seemed to have a whiplash style injury after slipping.

For the next few days, Lucas wasn’t moving his neck and spent a few days resting on the sofa. Tyler still headed to football every day and had a great time. He’s such a poser in the photo above, but such a sweetie too.

Wednesday, was Robert’s nephew’s 24th birthday. After work we all headed to Robert’s sisters to celebrate. A lovely family meal and delicious cake made by his nephew’s girlfriend. On Thursday the kids all went bowling after Tyler’s football with their cousins and grandparents. They had a fun day. Lucas was still struggling with his neck.

I captured the most wonderful sky, that looks like something was written in the clouds. I found it really interesting what people saw in the picture. What do you see?

Aria also dyed the bottom of her hair pink, which she loves. Well, she had a little help from me, but I was only following orders lol. She really suits it and has been showing it off all week.

Thursday at work saw me get a terrible migraine, it stayed with me through the evening and I ended up going to bed, but nothing would shift it. On Friday, I had the day off, but still had a migraine or migraine hangover seems to be a better word for it. Not rest for the wicked, I took Tyler to football, helped Lucas with his neck and then we all headed to a ceramics place where the kids had great fun painting. Aria painted a unicorn, Tyler painted a fish and Lucas painted two dolphins. He loved it and had such a great time. He’s at that age where I know he won’t always want to do these things, so for now, I’m enjoying every minute. He did such a good job, it’s got pride of place in the living room. Check out the finished piece on my instagram.

Later on in the afternoon, all three had the opticians. That was a bit of a juggle, but they were all stars. Lucas chose new glasses, Aria may need them in the future, but she’s ok for now and Tyler being Tyler, he’s got more than perfect eyes. I was really proud of them and the opticians we saw, were very impressed as we were in there for almost two hours.

A horrid migraine still wasn’t lifting, but it’s been a while since they have been as bad, so I can’t really complain. I had seen Lucas suffering from his neck, so both of us went to see the physio. He made a huge difference to his neck and shoulder. I got a treatment too, so hopefully, help my head. Fingers crossed, Lucas is on the mend.

We are going bowling tomorrow, Sunday, and today the boys have been to watch Robert’s niece play football, Aria is out playing, I’ve been food shopping and trying to catch up on some things.

I can’t believe next week is our last full week of the summer holidays, it has flown by. I have jury duty on Monday, so will see how that goes. What are your plans for the weekend? How is the summer holidays going? project-365-2017-badge

Glad you enjoyed Incredibles 2 – ours did too. I love Lucas’s intense concentration as he paints his dolphins – I hope he was pleased with the end result.

Clio really wants pink hair but hers is darker than Aria’s so I don’t think it would take without bleaching first which I really don’t want to do, Aria’s looks lovely. Hope football camp goes well.

What a shame about the injury, you must hgave been worried when you got the call.
Love the picture of him painting and those clouds are amazing.
Hope you make the most of the last week full weeks of the holidays but Jury duty will make that difficult. Hope you either get dismissed or a quick case.

I will check out that Instagram because the blue on his dolphins looks amazing there!
Sorry your head has been so bad. I also hope your Jury Duty is better than mine was. I was the only person there for 2 weeks unpaid because I sub-contracted at the time and obviously wasn’t going to book work simultaneously. I never got a single case and literally spent 2 weeks sitting in a large box. Pre-mobile phones too. I read many books but it drove me bats.

Your stories of you week always leaving me dizzy with exhaustion, and you still managed to do all that with a migraine and Lucas’ injury! Are you Superwoman? I hope the migraine has lifted now and you manage to enjoy your bowling. I also hope that Lucas is feeling much better.
I think everyone sees different in the clouds because of their past influences, I can see the name Greebo clearly, but he was a character in a series of books that I love.
I hope the last week of no school is uneventful (in the way of illness and injury) but fun, and perhaps a little more relaxed? xx

Poor Lucas. I hope he is feeling better now.
Pink hair must be the in things at the moment. My teen has hers pink too and my youngest wanted it pink but we lightened it and decided she just wanted it blonde. lol

Hi Susan, back to schools hopping already must be a bit of a downer, but all good things must come to an end. A whiplash injury sounds quite nasty, especially when I’m sure Lucas would rather be out playing football than resting. Fingers crossed it heals soon. I love Arias’ hair. Ever summer my two used to put colour in their hair, and they loved it. I think it’s a great way of expressing personality without doing damage, after all, it’s only hair.

    xx
