I think the jet lag has finally lifted, however, I am knackered, like so tired. Not sure if it’s just the jet lag and post-holiday blues, but I’m not worth a penny. Last week’s weekly post I left you tired and heading out for Robert’s dad’s birthday dinner. That was me above ready to go. We had a lovely meal and everyone caught up on our holidays. Robert’s sister and her family had been away too, so there was lots of America chat and wanting to go back. It was lovely to see everyone. It was a bit late by the time we got home, so the kids have been a bit out of sorts with their sleeping.
Sunday, I went to visit my mum with the kids, we hadn’t seen her since we got back, nipped to the library to return Aria’s books and had an easy day of it. An early bed was had by all, but the kids ended up being up from midnight, fell asleep at 3 am and I didn’t fall asleep at all. This resulted in me going to work with hardly any sleep. As parents, we all know what that’s like and it’s not easy. I got through the day and the kids had a great day at their gran and grandpa’s with their cousins. I pretty much went to bed after dinner. Yawn.
Tuesday, it saw football training back and Tyler, Robert and Lucas all went to football. Aria and I played around with some face tattoos which are what she is sporting in the top photo. She loved them and they turned out really well. Don’t you think? The weather was dry at least, it’s not been great since we got back. Very dull, grey and rainy.
Wednesday was a stuffy one at work and my mum had the kids. Football training again and I watched some episodes of Good Witch lastest season. Nothing exciting, but I did capture a pretty sky, so that made my day. A pink sky is my favourite.
The sun shone brightly on Thursday, it was a gorgeous day and warm. It is nice to see the kids outside playing, but not so easy to get them in, in the evening. It is still very light here at 10 pm. We are more than halfway through the holidays, so we should just make the most of it. Twilight is back speaking to us as well.
I was off work on Friday to do something with the kids, but they woke up in one of “those” moods. This resulted in lots of bickering and fighting between the younger two. They don’t normally bicker much, but I think the late nights and tiredness is taking its toll. I thought it best to stay in. We did some crafts and tired out a 3d pen set which was really good. Then the kids went out to play. I’m still hopeful for seeing the moon tonight, but it’s a tad cloudy.
Tomorrow, Saturday, we really need to make a start on the back to school shopping. I know, most of you have just started the holidays. Both the boys have football camp the next two weeks, one each week, so a lot going on. This week has been a bit of a washout, but hopefully next week we’ll make up for it.
How has your week been? How are the school holiday’s going?
Sounds like a big case of post jet lag and holiday blues to me. Also stepping back into work and out of holiday mode is a real step change and it will leave you tired. You’d never know from that stunning photo of you though.
We’re a week in to our school holidays now and already the kids are tired and fractious. In fairness, they’ve all been struggling to sleep in the heat for weeks now so it’s not surprising. I had a day off on Friday and just spent a quiet day playing games with them – I think they appreciated having a slower day!
Only five weeks to go…..we have ueyvto break the face paints open but definitely one for the raining days:-)
Well, down here holidays have only just got underway. Thus far though, reasonably well. I sympathise with you about the jet lag, never easy. Good luck doing the school uniform shopping! #mysundayphoto
The jet lag sounds horrendous! I hope next week is a better week for you all. The boys must be happy to be back at football. Aria looks very cute with her tattoos.
I do find jet lag takes forever to get back to normal – plus it is hard getting back into a routine after a great holiday. I love that face painting!
What a gorgeous shot of Aria with her face painted. Hope you have some more enemy now. #mysundayphoto
Gorgeous photo of Aria with her face painted. Jet lag can take ages to get over.
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
Gorgeous shot of Aria and yourself. X
Oh no! I hope you are sleeping and feeling better soon. Doesn’t Aria look exactly like you, I love the face tattoos, were they easy to get off though? Enjoy the rest of the school holidays, we’ve just finished week one, so long way to go yet. I’m sure it will go pretty fast though. xx

Hope you all recover soon from the jet lag. That sky is glorious!
Beautiful face paint – hope you all bounce back from the trip
Oh no! I hope you all catch up on your sleep and are in better moods soon. Jet leg sounds awful!
Those face tattoos look fab! Gorgeous photos x
Routine is all over the shop here with big two out of college/sixth form and not quite sure what September will look like with them and my new job. So everyone’s a bit sixes and sevens. Weather today is not helping!
Hi Susan, the post-holiday blues are the pits! Especially when you are hanging on a thread with tiredness… What little girl wouldn’t love a face tattoo like that? A bit of colourful fun… Catching up with family and sharing holiday stories must have been nice… Tiredness is bound to catch up with the children, a quiet day at home just being is sometimes all they need… I hope this week feels better and you manage to catch up on sleep.
xx
Hope everyone’s refreshed soon. We’ve just come back from 5 days camping which is always exhausting. I’m still trying to catch up on decent sleep
Loving the face paints – bet its down to earth with a bump for you all. Our holidays have started with a change in the weather……. and not a good one
Aria looks absolutely stunning in the first photo! #mysundayphoto
We’ve had one of “those” weeks! Nothing but arguing here. GAH! 5 weeks to gooooo…! You look fab and not at all jet lagged in your pic 🙂 #mysundayphoto
Jet lag sounds atrocious but your holiday looked awesome!
Love the face painting!
Thank you so much for linking up to #SilentSunday x
Thats some seriously impressive face painting!
The jet lag sounds horrendous Susan, and I am really not looking forward to it after our holiday. You look gorgeous in the second picture and I bet it was lovely catching up with everybody after your holiday x
Oh those holiday blues! I am dreading coming back from holiday – and we haven’t even gone yet! x
Love the talented face paint – so colourful #mysundayphoto
Test
I’ve never travelled that far so I’ve never experienced jet lag but it sounds horrendous. We went on a cruise many years ago and I remember I was swaying for days when we got back!
Nice to get back and catch up with family, and I bet your mum was glad to see the children.
Hope the tiredness is abaiting.
The face tattoes are great and as usual the two of you look beautiful.
yyyeeeeehhhh Im in…lol
