Last weekend was a busy one after I left you with last week’s weekly post. The Saturday I did some supermarket shopping, the weather was gorgeous and Robert has been out with some friends the night before, he was feeling a tad tender. Lucas went to the cinema and the other two played outside while I caught up on chores. While the kids were still out playing the heavens opened and it poured, oh my did it rain. The road got flooded and since we’d had no rain for two whole weeks, that’s a lifetime in Scotland, the kids loved it. Aria danced and spun, then she and her friend got soaked by the cars driving by. It was one of those moments you couldn’t help but stand in the doorway and smile. The perfect idea of childhood was right there and it was magic. Once we dried off and got showered, we had a chilled Saturday evening with a takeaway, some cherry wine for me and Robert and I caught some of our new favourite binge show Suits. Feels a bit weird watching it now, but still such a good show.
Sunday was the busy one. Lucas and Robert went to Lucas football team’s first ever 11’s football festival, while Tyler, Aria and I went to Tyler’s football team festival. It is a shame we can’t see both kids, but it’s the best we can do at present and the boys are fine with it. We have lots of chat over dinner when we return home about what we missed. It wasn’t scorching sunshine, which to be honest is good when you have 5 football matches to play and it’s in the middle of a forest. Honestly, I get lost every time I go to this park, it’s like Narnia. Doesn’t help that my sense of direction sucks. Thankfully, Tyler navigated us there. It was a fantastic day and as you can see Tyler was chuffed with his medal. Football festivals are long, tiring days, but the kids love them and it’s great to watch.
Monday morning saw us pretty much drag ourselves out of bed. I wasn’t keen to get back to work and the kids were tired. It was a long day for the boys as it was the final musical theatre practice before the big night. The week school-wise, for Lucas, was better than last week so that was good. Work wasn’t the best week I’ve been there. Another tough one, but it did turn out to be my 18 year anniversary of working there, so that might mean that I am actually insane or it’s actually really cool that I’ve been there for so long and the reason I find it difficult some weeks is because I am passionate about it. Who knew?
Tuesday, I finished work early to pick Aria up and the boys from school. Aria and I made some wishes with dandelion clocks which was fun. We did homework and coloured in some LOL doll pictures and Fortnite pictures. I had Parent Council that evening, so Robert put the kids to bed.
The weather has been relatively good again this week and sunshine makes everyone in a bit of a better mood. I captured a final picture of the pink blossom before the last of the petals fell. I will certainly miss their instant cheeriness.
Thursday night we headed home from work early to watch the musical theatre performance at school. Lucas last performance doing the technical side of things, that he has done for the last 4 years and Tyler is going to take over as head of digital. Our twin nieces were there too, both their last performance, one onstage and one technical also. The kids did well and it was rather emotional at the end when the Primary 7’s were presented with a bunch of flowers to commemorate the occasion. The first of many last for Lucas and his class. We only have 2 1/2 weeks left. It’s a big week next week.
Friday saw Aria being off school with a really bad throat and high temperature, just as well I was off work as we got our new replacement sofa. Hopefully, she is better for the circus on Saturday?
What did you get up to this week? Any fun plans this weekend?
Beautiful photos of your week, I hope Aria is feeling a little better.
Well done to the boys on the show! How lovely of the school to give all the kids flowers. Football festivals certainly are long days. We haven’t done one for a couple of years now. I’m not sure if they don’t do them for my son’s age group or if the team just can’t be bothered to take part! Hope Aria is feeling a bit better. x
I hope Aria is feeling better and I totally know what you mean about dragging yourself out of bed. I’m exactly the same at the moment. #mysundayphoto
I love that shot of Aria with the dandelion you can feel her concentration on the wish! Thank you for linking up to #pointshoot 📷
I really hope Aria was well enough for the circus. Your weeks always sound so busy I wonder how you manage to fit it all in! Do you have a timetable on the wall, or a very scribbled on calendar? You make my life sound boring haha.
It’s a shame you couldn’t make both boys football festivals, you can’t be in two places at once though and it’s lovely that you caught up with it all over dinner. I really wish I could get my lad interested in football or some other sport. He has a lot of energy to burn but no interest in anything.
Gorgeous photos as usual, I love the one of Aria and the dandelion clock and the blossom is so pretty. x

Beautiful photos. I especially love the first one, and the picture of the blossom, because I love blossom so much.
Sweet photos – some are real family keepers
Gorgeous photos, sounds like such a busy week.
Have a good Sunday and thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
Hi Susan, I love all three of those photos of the children (the blossom one is pretty too!). The dry weather was too good to last, but at least Aria seemed to welcome it. It’s obviously weather she is used to. I finished watching Suits on Netflix not so long ago and loved it! I’m binge watching Designated Survivor now and loving it (can recommend)… It’s shame your boys’ football events clash, it would be nice for you to be at one altogether, maybe one day… Eighteen years working in one place? You obviously love your job and can you imagine if it were easy? Where would be the fun in that?… The musical theatre sounds like a proper setup which must be great for children who would rather be behind the scenes than in front.
xx
what beautiful photos!
Poor Aria, I hope she’s better again very soon. Happy 18 years at your place, you must secretly love it. I’ve been at my place for 17 years this year. Feels like a complete lifetime!
I remember my daughter last year marking every last thing at junior school. My son is doing it now at infants. Time flies so quickly.
Oh that first picture is so special #mysundayphoto
Wow. What lovely photos, as usual! I love them all, so cute. Hope little lady is feeling better soon
Thank you for linking up to #SilentSunday xx
Can’t beat a dandelion clock #365
I haven’t done a football festival for many years now, but I do remember the frustration of taking 2 kids to different locations and not really getting to see either of them play. Hope Aria recovered for the circus on saturday
We could learn a lot from kids who don’t feel self-conscious doing what is natural to them! Lovely photos.
What a gorgeous selection of flowers #MySundayPhoto

Showing Little Miss OMG how to blow a dandelion clock might not have been my brightest idea. We have a green beside the house covered in them. She now brings them inside excitedly to blow!
I know how you feel with having to boys in different age groups. Its tough not being able to watch them. I think it bothers us more than them. Once we take it in turns and someone is there they are happy.
Hope this week is a good one.

I am always impressed with how much you cram into your weeks – you are always so busy! Have a lovely weekend xx
Glad the football festivals went so well. Some lovely pictures this week.
