It has been quite a change and emotional time when I left you with last week’s weekly post with Lucas going to high school for his induction. We were ready for the weekend. Saturday I spent catching up on some stuff and making teacher gifts with Aria. Checking in on the Art School fire, the building holds a special place in my heart as it was where I was supposed to go to art school and I just love it. The weather was awful and it poured all day. The boys went with Robert to Combat City with Tyler’s football team and had a great time. Robert organised summer treat for them. Lucas team is going this weekend. Sunday saw us having to do the supermarket shopping and we tried to do some clothes shopping for holidays and Lucas leavers meal, but the kids were continually bickered and carried on that we left. It was getting too stressful. The end of the school year and with so much going on is resulting in tried kids and shouty mum. It’s not a good combination.
With it being Father’s Day, it’s always a difficult one for me as it’s around the time of my Dad’s anniversary of his death. It was 15 years on Monday since I lost him and I miss him everyday. I wish that I could talk to him one last time. Fill him in on what we’ve been doing. Just once. However, I’m sure that won’t be enough. We celebrated Father’s Day and Robert’s mum’s birthday with a BBQ for his sisters. It was lovely, even if it was raining.
Monday morning saw Aria have her first Primary 1 show. It’s the end of her first school year and boy she has come on. That quiet girl who hid behind my leg, who won’t talk if I am about and didn’t like attention, stood up on the stage, sung A million Dreams and The Greatest Show with her classmates. She said her 4 lines aloud and collected her little trophy. It was astounding and such a proud moment. Then came the double emotional part when they invited up the Primary 7’s who were Aria’s classes buddies and sung Thank you for being a friend of the Golden Girls. Honestly, it was just perfect. I got a picture of her and her wee bestie at the end. They are just so cute.
It was back to work after that and same Tuesday. Tuesday evening was the school disco and fun night. As you can see the kids were all ready and had a ball. It’s run by parent council, so I was there helping. I did the photo booth, it was a tad chaotic with lots of hyper kids, but they loved it. It’s a time of first and lasts, with it being Aria’s first school disco and Lucas last one at primary. It has been lovely having them all at the same school.
Wednesday and Thursday was work, football training and the usual. Thursday was the summer solstice and I captured the beautiful sunset. It’s such a special day, like a blanket of warmth around your shoulders.
Friday I had some time off to catch up and got some writing done. The kids had friendship Friday at school which meant it was a dress down day and they did lots of activities. They came home buzzing. So, there we have our last full week of the school year. Next week, they finish Thursday for the school year. It’s full on next week with the leaver’s service Monday, Lucas has his leavers meal and Wednesday is prize giving. It will be emotional, to say the least.
This weekend we need to get organised for our holidays and I am hoping to take Aria to the cinema too. What are you up to?
Its really lovely when you can see your children growing in confidence over a period of time. She looks lovely in her party dress. #mysundayphoto
A busy week as always for you and the family. love the photo of Aria and her friend after their show. Friendship Friday is a lovely idea.
Anniversaries are always hard xx
It sounds like the kids have had a lovely week. The show must have been so moving. Good luck for the final week of school! x
Oh, school disco. Reading your post reminds me I may have missed something on the calendar. I’ll need to check!
Can’t be an easy time of year what with the memories it brings your own father. Sorry to hear that. As it happens this was my wife’s first Father’s Day without her father and I know she found it tough. Such dreadful news about the fire as well.
What have I been doing this week? It’s all about the impending house move!
Well done Aria on your school performance, bet you were so proud. Still cannot believe that you break up so early
The photo of Aria is beautiful, what a great photo.
Hope the final week goes well.
Have a good Sunday and thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
Definitely an emotional week. It seems so early to be breaking up from school, mine have another 4 weeks to go. Then we have Boo leaving primary, but not the school or the building. This is the first time we wont have all the tearful end of year goodbyes, it’s kind of weird, but I can see why it’s a good idea.
I hope this week is lots of fun x
A full on nearly end of term week! Very sad about the fire – I do hope they repair/rebuild it, but it will obviously take a long time.
The girls look amazing in those dresses!

Lots of hugs to you Susan for the tough week. I cannot believe Lucas is going to high school inductions but it sounds like it all went well. The photo booth idea is such a brilliant one although I imagine you have to be firm and get the kids out 😄
What an emotional week it’s been for you. Love all your photos ❤️ So sorry about your dad, you must miss him so much! X
What an emotional week for you!
Aria has done so well over the last year and it wonderful to hear how she has came out of her shell so much.
I hope the induction went well for Lucus.
Good luck for next week. Have plenty of tissues ready. Eek! x
Aria’s performance sounds lovely. It’s amazing how much they change from the start to the end of that first year. Enjoy the last week
Sounds busy and emotional… big milestones for us soon too as my eldes5 starts school! #365
Great photos, as always. They look like theyve had a great week 🙂
Thanks for linking up with #SilentSunday xx
Oh I love the pictures of your little ones. Hope the last week goes well – I always find this an emotional time of year. Our eldest left high school last week which had me in bits (she was typically fine!) x
What a busy time! We love a good show in our house, looks like great fun.
That summer solstice shot was amazing. I really hope this week has been more steady for you. I understand the heightened emotions that the end of a school year brings, especially one that signifies the end of primary school. Take care 🌈 Thank you for linking up to #pointshoot 📷
The end of the school year is always so busy and emotional, isn’t it? Love your solstice photo.

You know we visited the Art School a couple of months ago. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it was on fire again. Aria looks so pleased after her performance.
I do love the photo of the girls with their tiny trophies – I hope they both keep them forever and are always as proud and smily 🙂
That is one gorgeous summer solstice picture. There’s beauty to be seen in nature that’s for certain. #PointShoot
Dinky was the same this time last year, talk to nobody and got her brother to do her talking for her at nursery, but now does it all herself. Aria looks very beautiful and proud along with her friend with the trophies
We finish up school today as well and so looking forward to not having to pick one up from here and run another there.
Susan, your littles are so precious! What a joy! Those little trophies are adorbs! #pointshoot xo
Aria sounds so much like Troy. They’ve come on massively this year – so much confidence! So sorry about your Dad, they say time’s a great healer but often time doesn’t really change much at all. Lots of love x
