It’s been such a long week and as you can see in that first photo, we have that Friday feeling. Woohoo for the weekend. Do you have that Friday feeling this week? You might also notice that the blossom has finally started to fall. Such a shame, but Aria did think it was snowing. So cute. I will miss those pastel pink, flowers, blowing in the breeze. We had a nice weekend last weekend after I left you with last week’s weekly post we had Lucas and Tyler’s last football matches of the season.
On Sunday we headed to Glasgow for Lucas to do his first ever driving lesson with Young Driver. We got him it for his 11th birthday and that was us getting around to booking it when we were free. He absolutely loved it, and can’t wait to get another one day. He even reversed parked his car. Honestly, I’d highly recommend it, it is so well done and such a great experience. We went to a fun day later on and had some delicious ice-cream and rainbow cake.
Monday was a bank holiday and both Robert and I had the day off work. With the weather being so good, we decided to hit the beach. We went to one we hadn’t been to before and it was lovely. It was busy, but not too busy. Gorgeous sand, sea and family fun. Lots of pictures on my instagram this week featured the beach. I just love the one where I got all three of the kids together. All three went in the water and getting Tyler to take his long football socks off and show his legs the light of day was a big step. This photo makes me smile and was perfect beach fun. We ended the day with a BBQ.
Tuesday it was back to work and school. Aria’s best friend was back so she was delighted. Football training, more work. Work was tough and long. But it has been sunny for weeks now and we are loving it. No rain for three weeks is unheard of. Long may it continue. Wednesday night we were the high school for an information evening. It was really interesting and it isn’t long now until Lucas starts. He has two induction days this month. We are in the home stretch for the summer holidays with only 4 weeks left of school. And what a busy 4 weeks it is. It’s been a rollercoaster of a weekend on various different aspects, here’s hoping next week is a bit more plain sailing all round.
This weekend sees us with two different football festivals, in two different places for two different boys, at the same time. Robert will do one and I will do the other. It is a good day and the boys love playing so many games of football. Lucas just lives for football, no matter what the score. Fingers crossed the sunshine stays.
What did you get up to this week? Any fun plans this weekend? Hope you have a good one.
Our boys are looking forward to the World Cup, but not Kara. Does Aria show an interest at all? Isaac has his Young Driver session coming up in a few weeks too – he’s been looking forward to it since Christmas!
Such lovely photos, I love the beach one! #365
Ha ha, enjoy the football festivals! I think many sassenachs will fail to appreciate there are good beaches north of the border but I’ve been to one or two! Love the driving lesson idea and hoping you have a slightly less demanding week this week but that the sun continues to shine. #mysundayphoto
I love the idea of a young driver course, I wonder is Aly would enjoy that.
I used to love the football festivals when I was younger…a whole day of playing football, what could be better?
Have a great Sunday and thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
We loved doing the young driver and now Isaac is 10 he is itching to try it too. I love that picture of Aria, so cute
Young driver is brilliant!
Love the beach photo, definitely one for the wall.
We have had our senior school interview with the induction day coming up. How is Lucas feeling about going into senior school? X
What gorgeous pics, absolutely love Aria’s smile x
I’m always stunned we have so many boys and yet there is so little football. A couple of them do have a ‘team’ they support, and sometimes we have a match on, but none have ever played except kick about! 😀
Fingers crossed your weather improves from today! X
Skye has done a YoungDriver lesson and it was great. I think they need to teach children the basic theory of driving as part of the curriculum. It would definitely help them be better drivers if they were taught the Highway Code early. Lovely photos as always.😊
Ahh sounds like a great week all in all! We’ve been loving the sunshine but were relieved to get some thunder and rain yesterday, though it’s not cleared the air as much as I hoped!
Looks like fun!
I’m glad you had a lovely bank holiday weekend. I love your beach photos. The Young Drivers sounds great, I’m sure my Little Man would like that when he’s older. He thought the blossom was snow too haha! I hope you are having a lovely weekend this week and that the rain has stayed away for you x
Well done Lucas. It sounds like the driving lesson went so well.
I love that beach photo. Aria looks like she’s having the best time.
Ahh! Our high school information evening was cancelled when we had the “Beast from the East” I must ask if they are rescheduling. We have about 7 weeks left until we break up for summer. Eek!
I hope the sunshine sticks around for the football festivals. It’s been raining here. Ugh x
So glad Lucas enjoyed his driving lesson and had to smile at Aria and the blossom.
Wow what a fabulous week! A looks fab in her pinafore x Glad Lucas liked the driving, fabulous opportunity.
Happy days x
Sounds like a busy half term for you and the kids, I bet they’ve loved it all! #MySundayPhoto.
young driver was one of the ideas I considered for Bob as a day out but he is not tall enough. your beach picture is brilliant, and I know where you were and it is a great beach, clean and well kept with public toilets and some park land as well.
” different football games in 2 different places is hard as both of you cannot watch both boys. Do you take it in turns with which one you go with?
Hasn’t the lovely weather been glorious and unexpected! The young driver experience looks like fun. I know my teen would love the opportunity to have a go, something to consider for his birthday I think. It is a shame the blossoms are falling isn’t it, they never last long enough. #keepingitreal
I have loved your beach shots on IG this week. I am sorry to see the blossom leave us too. That beautiful shot of Aria certainly does capture the Friday feeling. Thank you for linking up to #pointshoot 📷
love the beach shot, looks like everyone had fun, hope the football went well on the weekend and you managed to coordinate
Ahh lovely photos. So super cute 🙂
Thank you for linking up to #SilentSunday my lovely xxx
Alice did the young driver school, she can’t wait until she is older and drive the bigger car! It’s brilliant for children and I’m not surprised he loved it!
Athena did the Young Driver thing and absolutely loved it – I wish it had been around when I was younger!! So glad he enjoyed it too – such a great birthday gift x
Ah, the beach shot is beautiful! I can’t wait till the weather here perks up enough for us to get to the beach! #365
I love the beach photo – you’ve managed to capture a whole afternoon of fun and happiness in that one shot! #SilentSunday
Hi Susan, I love that Friday feeling. Friday has to be the best day of the week and Aria seems to know it… That photo of the three of them is lovely, with Aria enjoying the sea (no icebergs then?) and her brothers looking on. The sea must be freezing where you are?… The young drivers’ scheme sounds really good. My daughter will be starting her driving lessons very soon( she’s eighteen), but is clueless when it comes to the roads. Early driving lessons like that would at least give youngsters a feel for driving… I hope the dry spell lasts into summer for you. It might be an idea to do a rain dance now though so that there is less chance of rain in the holidays… When it comes to football your family is totally divided, the running around you must do makes my toes curl!
Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.
xx
I love Aria’s school uniform. Ours seems so plain in comparison. We’ve been to the beach more this year already than we have in the last few years combined! Long may this weather continue!
It sounds like a lovely week, a trip to the beach is just the perfect bank holiday thing to do, we spent the day at the beach too and I just love it. My teen son did a Young Driver lesson a couple of years ago and loved it, I must book him a few more as I think they are such a great idea.
A lovely shot. She looks so happy and I agree it’s a pity that the pink blossom has fallen. #PointShoot
That’s so cool that you took your son to drive a car so young! I didn’t touch the steering wheel until I could get my permit at 16 years old.
