Scholastic Book Club And Giveaway

22nd March 2018 By Susan Mann 167 Comments

Book Magic

Anyone who reads my blog, follows me on social media or knows me in real life knows how much I love books and to read. It is my favourite thing to do. It is also hugely important to me that my kids not only read but find a love in books that I have found. I love nothing more than reading them bedtime stories and seeing their face light up when we get a new book that unlocks the magic of imagination. This is why when Scholastic got in touch with their Scholastic Book Club, I was happy to help. World Book Day is fantastic for encouraging and inspiring kids and their love of books, but we are all about encouraging their love of books all year round.

Scholastic Book Club offers the very best children’s books from around 70 publishers often with up to 70% off RRP.  For every order over £10, Scholastic will donate 25% back in books and resources to a school of the customer’s choice.  There is such a fab selection with new ones added at least 6 times a year (to coincide with school terms).

Tom Gates

We chose and received one book for each child to read and check out. My oldest’s love Tom Gates books, these are brilliant for reluctant readers or those who enjoy a funny book. Both my boys love these. This is the 13th one in the series, but they don’t need to be read in order, they are great for standalone books. The books are about Tom, he is a master doodler and his adventure in this one is about a family outing with his grandparents. It’s a funny book and does not fail to disappoint any Tom Gates fans. My oldest is 11 and loves books, but this is great for those from ages 8-11.

Frankie's Magic Football

As you know, both my boys love football. My youngest boy loves reading bedtime stories with you and is quite reluctant at times to read on his own, but this series he absolutely loves. He could not wait to get started on this. The Franki’s Magic Football series is from Frank Lampard’s series of books. They can be read as a series or as standalone stories. This one sees Frankie getting injured just before a five-a-side tournament. His team needs him to play off they have to drop out. Can the magic football save the day or will it go horribly wrong? My youngest boy loved this and he cannot wait for the next one. If he is happy then I am happy. These books are perfect for those who love football.

Zog and the Flying Doctors

My little girl would have me reading a hundred books at bedtime if I let her. I love it, but I can’t read all night. Bedtime reading is special for me and it’s always great when you get a book you both like. Julia Donaldson books have been big hits with all the kids and both my husband and I. This one is the second book in the Zog series. I do love dragons as does my little girl, so this was perfect for us. This adventure sees Princess Pearl, Sir Gadabout and Zog their trusty air ambulance saving all kinds of creatures from distress. This is until Pearl’s Uncle holds her capture to be a Princess. It isn’t until he falls ill. Can the Flying Doctors save him? We just loved this, it is brilliant and if you are a Julia Donaldson fan, you will love this too.

I would highly recommend all these books and so much more on the Scholastic website at fantastic prices, plus it helps the school of your choice too. I am lucky enough to be sharing a fantastic giveaway with you today, I am giving away this Scholastic Book Bundle with the six books pictured below. Some great titles in there. To enter, follow the instructions on the form below. Good luck!

My youngest daughter would love Zog and the Flying Doctors but these days she often asks her big sister to read to her instead. I love seeing them cuddled up reading together. My eldest has just discovered David Walliams so she’d be in a rush to read The Midnight Gang – we might have that as a family book so I can read it to both of them.
