Birds and Flying Crafts For Kids

15th March 2018 By Susan Mann 16 Comments

Flight Crafts for Kids

For this month’s Tots100 #BostikBlogger craft is birds and flight. I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do for this month, so I consulted my top craft advisor, that is my 9-year-old. We came up with a few crafts he loves and one that Little Miss wanted for her toys. I’d love to know what you think of them. Bird and Flight Crafts For Kids – Aeroplane

Paper Aeroplane Craft Items

What you’ll need:-

  • Paper or card
  • Pens

Fold paper in half

Step 1

I used cardboard to make this aeroplane for the purpose of showing you. Fold the paper or card in half, long ways.

Fold nose

Step 2

Fold down the nose of the aeroplane. Fold down on both sides.

Fold again

Step 3

Fold down again at both sides starting from the points.

Fold other side

Step 4

It should look like above.

Make a point

Step 5

Fold it once more, again from the point or nose.

Aeroplane complete

Step 6

The aeroplane is now complete.

Decorate Aeroplane

Step 7

We decorated our aeroplane to make it it’s own.

Step 8

Our aeroplane ready to fly. We love these and make so many all the time. Kids just love those.

Bird and Flight Crafts For Kids – Air Balloon

Air Balloon Craft Items

What you’ll need:-

  • Bostik Micro Dots
  • Stick
  • Balloon
  • String
  • Carton
  • Pens
  • Bostik White Tac

Balloon

Step 1

Blow up your balloon.

Stick

Step 2

We had a cardboard carton that we put a wooden craft stick through as the balloon basket.

Bostik White Tac

Step 3

We used a piece of Bostik White Tac at the bottom to hold it in place.

Colouring Pens

Step 4

We decided to decorate our basket.

Colour Basket

Step 5

Some stripes of colour. The kids didn’t find it all the easy to colour.

Bostik

Step 6

We used Bostik Micro dots to secure the balloon to the stick.

Tie Around Balloon

Step 7

We tied some string around the balloon to secure it to the basket.

Air Balloon Craft

Step 8

Here you have our Air Balloon craft. We even have a little toy ready to fly away with her craft. What do you think? The possibilities are endless with this one. This is obviously not suitable for young kids, but my 5-year-old loves this.

Bird and Flight Crafts For Kids – Dickie Birds

Dickie Birds Craft Items

What You’ll Need:-

  • Bostik Micro Dots
  • Clothes Pegs
  • Yellow Card
  • Scissors
  • Googly Eyes
  • Stick (Optional)
  • Feathers or decorations
  • Pens

Colour Pegs

Step 1

Colour in your pegs, whatever colour you’d like. The brighter the better.

Coloured Pegs

Step 2

Our coloured pegs, ready to decorate.

Cut Beak

Step 3

Cut out two little beaks.

Beaks

Step 4

They don’t need to be perfect and you could draw them on if you don’t have the yellow paper.

Bostik Micro Dots

Step 5

Use the Bostik Micro Dots to stick on the beak to the pegs.

Adding Beaks

Step 6

Once the beaks are on, you want to add the googly eyes or you can draw them.

Adding Eyes

Step 7

Your two dickie birds are ready. Now time to add the decorations or you can leave them as is.

Adding Feathers

Step 8

We had some spare feathers, so of course, this is what the kids wanted to use.

Wings

Step 9

We used the Micro Dots to add on the wings.

Decorating Dickie Birds

Step 10

Adding on the tail and head feathers if you fancy.

Dickie Birds Craft

Step 11

We added them to the stick so you could see our two Dickie Birds sitting on the wall, one named Peter and one name Paul. What do you think?

Pin for later.

So there you have it, our second craft of the year. Which ones will you try? I’d love to know if you make any of them. Let me know here or on social media.

They are ace – I love that balloon. It’s so simple, but so effective. It’d look amazing if you did it with several children in a nursery or infant’s department 🙂

I would love to make more of them. I think I might suggest something similar for the Easter activity day at school xx

I love all the ideas and clear instructions. What a clever little chap, can I borrow him through the summer holidays, he can come and do crafts with all the children I look after.

What fabulous ideas – We made squishies recently, I should blog about it – I took loads of pictures but the Mum of the little girl coordinating the crafting (also 9 by the way!) doesn’t want her pictures online. I should have checked before I started it all
