Last weekend was pretty busy with my mum moving house, you can read about it in last week’s weekly photo post. My migraines have eased but still left with a headache. A lot is coming from my back and shoulder which the awesome shoulder massager and got a bit of physio too. The wee old guy that I help out is a retired physio so he often helps. The weekend wasn’t very exciting, food shopping, football training, board games and futsal. This week has been one of ups and downs. The first picture I shared on Sunday. I managed to capture Aria lying on a soft fully blanket, just like her brother would. They both love everything soft. We were reading some of the Worst Witch books and I just love the capture.
Monday I took the kids to school and headed straight to work for a long day. My mum was watching them, but with the house move a few things came up. All three had after-school clubs so she didn’t need to get them until later. Then it was football training in the evening. The boys both got exciting letters home to say they were both playing in the school football festival on Wednesday. It was Tyler’s first time this year playing for the school in a tournament. Lots of excitement. You can see in his photo above how much he just loves football, almost as much as his big brother. I talk a lot about Lucas love of football in his birthday post.
Tuesday, I did a short day at work but didn’t make it home to pick up Aria in time as there was an accident on the motorway, I was very stressed, but thankfully, got someone to stay with her until I got there. The boys both had football training at school or they could have waited with her. Tuesday evening I had parent council meeting at school. I am the secretary, typing away on my iPad as they go. It is really interesting being involved and we do activity days and discos for the kids. I came home that evening to Lucas being very upset over another child at school telling him horror stories of things he’s watched. You know the types that you spin around something, say a name, light a candle and you get possessed by a demon. It was bloody Mary in my day, but I did think we’d get to high school before I had to deal with these nightmares. He was terrified the lights would flash and he’d get possessed. I explained this wasn’t true and gave him some analogies. He was fine and went to sleep. Wednesday morning Robert went to the gym as usual and I was upstairs getting ready while the kids were downstairs. Next thing I knew Lucas was screaming, you know the horror screaming not the pretend kind. He bolted upstairs followed by two terrified siblings. I calmed him down and went downstairs to find the lights flickering and the rest of the power off. Of all the days to have a power cut and a strange one at that. I don’t remember the last time. Thankfully, there was no demon possession and it was funny after the fact. Certainly not at the time.
Wednesday so both boys play in the school football festival for probably the first and last time together. I didn’t see it as I was at work, but they were there all afternoon and had a great time. Other family members that were there said they played great. Lucas then had school netball practice after school and football training at night. Thursday saw him play in the school netball festival tournament all afternoon. He is exhausted and I am not surprised. I hope he sleeps a bit longer at the weekend, but I am not holding my breath.
The other picture of Aria is her with her butterfly wings. I love her hair in this photo where it’s been taken out of plaits. She’s been really bad at sleeping lately, finding noises really scary and waking a lot. It all seems to stem from the time the washing machine broke, the drum fell off and the noise was horrendous. She was scared and now every noise day or night, she questions. Any ideas? I am truly exhausted.
The lighter nights are certainly creeping in and I captured this beautiful sky picture. You know I love my skies. This was my favourite one this week. Twilight colours. Football training, food shopping, some board games and possibly swimming or bowling for us this weekend. Football season starts next weekend, so I am enjoying the less jam-packed weekend. What are you up to? Have you had a good week?
The twilight picture is stunning. As is your daughters hair. I love red hair and often dye my own red.
#mysundayphoto
Thank you lovely. I would love to have red hair x
A busy week! I like that it’s now getting noticeably lighter at either end of the day – having been away for 2.5 weeks, I really noticed the difference when we got home. Roll on spring!
I hope you had a marvellous time. x
I justlove that photo of Aria, hair is on fire
It does look a bit like that x
Hi Susan, you did have a busy week. I remember going through a Ouji board phase when I was younger (not that young though) and scaring myself silly. Perfect timing for the power cut, I bet you lad was petrified. I think I would have been too given the story… Sorry, I can’t help you with Arias sleep problem. I find most issues like that run there course, just don’t make a big issue and drink lots of coffee… Yesterday wasn’t as busy as normal for us, the running around was confined to the morning, and we managed to fit in a walk with the dogs in the sand dunes. Today we’re heading up to the top of the island for a Sunday walk we’ve not done before.
xx
I remember those stories too but hoped we’d have a few more years. Thanks, lovely. We are so busy as parents these days xx
Sorry to hear about the power cut at the wrong time. What are the chances of that happening? Your poor boy must have been terrified! How lovely that they got to play football together. My boys did one rugby tournament on the same team when they were in Year 6 and Year 3. It was a proud moment!
Such bad luck. That is nice they got to play together. How fab, I bet you were proud x
The final photo is so dreamy, I love the colours in it. The silhouette also works so well.
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto
Thank you
Lovely pictures. I have a Lucas too! He’s 18.
Aww how lovely. Such a nice name x
I love your photos as always. My girls won’t have their hair plaited any more so I miss those wavy curls. When my girl went through a phase of being scared of noises at night, I used to let her have the radio on quietly by her bedside. It would be tuned into Smooth radio, so calming. Kids these days seem to do everything earlier. I certainly wouldn’t let my kids watch horror films, but it can be hard to regulate when there are so many devices you can watch things on. X
Such a shame, it is nice when they let you do that x
Such a shame, it is nice when they let you do that x
I love Aria’s butterfly costume, so cute. Hoping that you get your shoulder sorted too
Thak you, lovely x
Gorgeous photo’s, your daughter’s hair is stunning! #MySundayPhoto
I wish I had her hair too x
Hope Lucas is ok now. Learning about ghosts and the paranormal at that age can be terrifying. Football festival sounds really exciting though and hopefully it’ll take his mind off it all. Are your migraines ok now?
They are easing now, thankfully. It is crazy, I thought we’d have a few more years x
Those sorts of stories still freak me out, I would definitely have been the one screaming when the power went. Glad it was all ok in the end. Beautiful photos, I especially love the one of Aria’s gorgeous hair!
They are crazy isn’t it? Thank you. I do love her hair xx
AH Susan these photos are beautiful. Such lovely children. Thanks for linking up to #SilentSunday x
Thank you lovely xx
It sounds like you have had a really busy week! It really has all been about football.
Gorgeous photos. x
Aria has such beautiful hair. The power cut sounds a bit scary.
It was bad timing x
Gorgeous photos of 2 of them. Hope they get over their current fears soon.
Thank you lovely. x
Sounds like a really busy week. Glad the migraine has gone and I hope the headaches clear soon.
They are easing. Thank you x
What a beautiful picture of Aria, and sorry to hear about Lucas. Sounds as if you have had a really busy week Susan fitting everything in x
Thank you lovely. You know what it is like x
Sounds like a mad week – but some lovely moments too! Sorry you’ve been having migraines! Hope things continue to improve. x #ordinaryMoments
They are starting to improve, thank you x
Glad somebody stayed with her until you could get there, always a worrying time when these things are beyond your control.
Glad the house move is done, and that the migraines are easing.
Amazing how children’s imaginations can run amok, Minky has been the same lately , refusing to go anywhere in the house himself in case somebody/thing gets him.
It is crazy isn’t it? It is hard to keep things under control. x
love the photo of Aria with her angel wings and her hair looks so pretty, glad your migraine is easing, but headaches aren’t nice either #365
They are easy. Thank you lovely xx
You are literally superwoman. I have no idea how you do it all.
I really want to pick you up and take you away for relaxation.
Congrats to the boys. They are amazingly determined little footballers xx
Thank you lovely. I would do the same for you xx
The colour of your girls hair is just stunning. Glad to hear that the migraines are easing – but I know exactly what you mean about being left with headaches x #MySundayPhoto
Thank you so much. They are starting to ease thank you xx
You children are so photogenic Susan, they are lovely shots and I always enjoy your evening shots – beautiful #365
Aww thank you lovely xx
Gorgeous photos. Your daughter’s hair is beautiful. Photo’s aside…how do you fit everything in?!?!? #PointShoot
Thank you. I do love her hair x
I love Aria’s hair in that photos too, so pretty and a gorgeous colour and shine too. Have you thought of trying a dream capture or a noise machine? I am sorry your son was upset, I agree it is a bit early to be hearing about that sort of movie! Thank you for linking up to #pointshoot 📷
Thank you lovely. I will give that a go. Sounds like it might help. xx
I’m glad your head is feeling a bit better Susan, it’s no fun at all to have terrible headaches and migraines and you’ve suffered such a long time. Gorgeous photos of the kids – Aria is so beautiful. Purple goes so well with the redheads – it’s my son’s favourite colour and he wears it so well 🙂
Thank you. I think that purple is a fab colour for her. They are fine, thanks hon x
What a lovely photo of your daughter #MySundayPhoto
Thank you x
Thank you, lovely of you to say x
I love that night sky photo it is totally stunning and your daughter’s hair is beautiful.
Thank you so much. It was a lovely sky x
Her hair is utterly beautiful! It sounds like you had quite a stressful week – I hope the migraines have subsided now x
Thank you lovey, they have finally xx
Lovely sky picture #TheOrdinaryMoments
Thank you x
Your children are gorgeous <3 #365
Thank you so much x
What a beast of a child to tell Lucas such stories! I remember when I was younger my brother used to lie in wait for me in a dark spot on the stairs before jumping out on me. I’ve always been scared of the dark since.
I know right? So horrid xx
You’re pictures are great 😀
Out of curiosity – I work away from home, in a camp, and noises (ie. plow trucks for the snow and large machinery moving) keep me awake. I’ve taken to earplugs, lately, but have found that a fan or a humidifier next to my bed helps drown things out.
There’s white noise apps, too, if the kiddos have a tablet or a phone near the bed but they seem too young! 😀
Thank you. That does sound like something to try. Thank you xx
