What a week of celebrations it’s been, our final two birthdays of the year and that’s us. Saturday afternoon was filled with cake making. Aria had wanted a Snow White Cake and Tyler a football cake. A Rangers one if possible. The largest amount of chocolate cake batter was mad and if you followed on insta stories, yes I gave it a go, then you’ll have seen that I made 4 cakes and then set about icing. Cake making isn’t my forte, I can bake, but icing, etc I don’t do that well. I am a creative person, so I enjoy making things and always seem to work it out in the end. By Saturday evening I had a Snow White cake and a Football cake, with a sort of Rangers football sign. Once the kids were in bed it was time to set up the balloons and banners for the birthday boy. I can’t believe Tyler is 9, my sweet, creative and cheeky, funny boy. You can read all about his 9th birthday postย which is all about this year.ย He had a lovely birthday and we didn’t get out to go bowling or anything like that. If you read last week’s weekly post, you will remember how much snow we had. All he’s wanted for the last year is a rainbow scooter, if unicorns made scooters it would be this one. It is a special stunt scooter with the most amazing neo-chrome colour. He got his wish and he uses his scooters all the time, so they get well used. It snowed again on Sunday, so we went out to build a snowman. He was pleased with the one both he and I made. We were sad to come Tuesday when he melted. It is bittersweet, isn’t it? We also had to re-arrange our birthday dinner plans and instead of the family all coming to ours for dinner, we headed over to the inlaws to save them coming out in the snow and my mum couldn’t get down due to the snow. Not to worry, it was a lovely evening and the cake went down a storm.
Back home and it was time to put the 9th birthday balloons and banners away for yet another birthday. This time it was Aria’s 5th birthday, can you believe she is 5? It doesn’t seem that long ago since she was born! I had the day off work, but the kids had school. So we opened some gifts before school and then we carefully made our way to school on the ice. That was the worst, to be honest, that snow turned to thick ice. Aria’s wee bestie came and gave her the biggest birthday hug which was sweet. Robert had the afternoon off work, so we both picked the kids up from school. Aria had the best day, her class sung happy birthday, and so did both the boy’s classes. As well as to Tyler. We went out for dinner after seeing my mum. It was lovely and she’d chosen a buffet-style dinner.
It was a hectic few days and come Monday night, I was tired. It was back to school and work the next day. No cake, balloons or banners, it was quite sad actually. Ahh well, we had a wonderful few days and the kids got some lovely gifts to play with. Aria was very excited to get some heelies like her big cousins. I found myself wishing I had a pair. Anyone else?
It was a long week of working days, school days and homework. Lucas hasn’t been the best behaved recently and having a few meltdowns. We think Fifa isn’t helping, so it has been removed from the house, but at 11, it could be hormones or just overtired. He does play a lot of football which results in some late nights and he is a super early riser. Much earlier than his little sister even. I did spot a few nice sunsets if you are on instagram.
I had a few hours off on Friday to get some writing done for an application I am applying for. Then I got the kids from school and we played with some toys and the boys got some Match Attax. They are obsessed with football. The weather has been quite wet this week, washing away the snow which was good, but lots of flooding.
This weekend we had football training, supermarket shopping and tomorrow we are going shopping for suitcases. It’s been so long since we’ve been abroad and needed suitcases. Watch this space for more information on our exciting summer holiday.
Before I forget, I should also mention that Sunday was my wee blog’s 8th birthday. Happy birthday, wee blog. My first ever post was Tyler’s birth story on his 1st birthday. You can read all about it in his blog post. Thank you to all those that still read my ramblings and support me through the ups and downs. I love the blogging community, all the memories that I have logged and experiences that I may not have made. But, the friends I have made online and real life mean so much. Thank you all.
has your weekend been? Have you had a good week? Any snow?

Birthdays and a blogadversary. What a week of celebrations and a collection of gorgeous photos to remember.
Hi Susan, you won’t know what to do with yourself for the rest of the year! Both cakes look lovely and I they knocked spots of anything shop bought… And a huge Happy Blogaversary to you. Here’s to many more years of blogging!
xx
lol Aww thank you. This is true. Some days it’s easier than others xx
Happy birthday blog and kids. Well done on the Rangers logo. Well beyond my capabilities!
Aww thank you. It’s not perfect, but it’s the thought that counts ๐
What a lovely week! Glad the kids had such good birthdays, despite you having to change your plans. Strangely, I can believe Aria is 5 (because she was born just after my niece!), but I find it harder to believe that Tyler is 9. As my daughter is 11, it feels like he is catching her up!
Yeah, I think she’s just slightly older than my oldest isn’t she? They did have good birthdays, it has gone so fast x
Ah you’ve had a busy cake week and I love them both. They are so good, I am just useless at making anything like that. I cannot believe Aria is now 5, how did that happen? I feel like she should just be turning 3!
It has been fun. Thank you, I don’t think they are that great. I know, I feel like she is turning 3 too x
Huge happy birthday to the both of them. Those cakes look amazing.
I can’t believe Aria is 5 already…those years flew past.

What a fabulous selection of photos and such a wonderful week of celebrations. Wow, your two babies have grown so much. I love your cakes, they look great. I can’t believe your birthdays are all over already. I can understand though because mine come in a batch in the summer, I have four birthday babies in 6 weeks of summer! I’ll pop off to read your birthday posts now. x
