I have had a super busy week here and never been so glad it’s the weekend. Last weekend was a quieter one. Aria and I went to my neighbour’s wee girl’s birthday party. She had a lovely time once she got over being so shy initially. A wee takeaway and catch up on Stranger Things with Robert at night, it was nice and chilled. Sunday we stayed in, baked, watched Christmas films and had a lovely day together.

School is busy just now as we know with end of term stuff coming up. Plus it’s so cold and icy here. We have no snow, but it’s rarely got above -3 so lots of frost. Aria has been busy practising singing for their nativity. The boys had the last of their football practice at school. Work has been busy and I’ve been trying to finish up the blog posts, you know how it goes, never enough hours in the day. And I’ve not even written a card yet.

Aria got a new bed delivered on Monday, it’s a cabin bed as her toddler bed was getting too small for her. It’s a Christmas and birthday gift from her gran. It’s fantastic and perfect for a small room. So, Robert has been building it as I took the other one down when we got in from work in the evenings. The house is in a bit of turmoil with stuff everywhere, not having enough time and that stresses me a little. But, it will all be sorted next week I hope.

I didn’t get much sleep on Tuesday night, Tyler, had me up. So I got to see the most spectacular sunrise in the quietness before everyone woke up. Gorgeous isn’t it? I was tired at work, but it was worth this photo.

We dressed up the cat this week too. She doesn’t look too happy, but she kept it on for ages and played about with it. It amused me for a bit. Aria loved her little party dress and puts it on at every occasion. This week she has her party at school, I’m sure it will be worn.

On Friday morning, we braved the ice-rink paths and roads and headed to see Aria in the nativity. Lucas of course doing the technical side. Many a kid and adult fell that day, it was treacherous. The nativity was lovely. Aria didn’t have a part but sang in part of the choir. She belts out songs like nobody’s business it’s incredible. Considering she’s so quiet the rest of the time. She was so excited and when we went to see her in her class after it, we got this excited photo. Back to work, I went after it, but do you know what, I’ve not had a lot of holidays this year, so I finished up on late Friday evening and don’t go back until the 8th of January. It is amazing. Yes, work will still be in touch, but I don’t need to go in. I’ve got so much to do and the kids are in school until Friday, so I’ll hopefully get lots done and then we can enjoy our two weeks off together. They have lots of parties at school next week and let’s not forget the church service, where I’ll see Lucas play the trumpet.

This weekend started as a bit of a nightmare for Robert. He runs a kids football club, along with himself and the other coaches, they do an amazing job. All voluntary, he gives up 3 weeknights, plus both days at the weekend for training and games. Not to mention all the meetings and other stuff he does. He’d arranged for every child to get a trophy and selection box for the end of season celebration and they got lost. He tried everything, including being at the depot at 8am this morning for its opening. No luck and he came home in tears, feeling like he’d let all the kids down. He couldn’t even bring himself to tell the parents it was cancelled. I did this for him and we hope that it will all be sorted the beginning of the week and we can re-arrange for one evening next week. I really felt for him so much, he was distraught. These things happen, especially this time of the year, but he can’t help how he felt. Let’s hope it works out.

For tonight we are heading for our works night out. Looking forward to dressing up and having a night out. Do you get to have a Christmas night out? I will tell you all about it next week. The kids are staying over at the in-laws, so it’ll be a nice long lie too. What are your plans?

You can read about our last week in our weekly photos post. project-365-2017-badge

I think I can see why you had quite such a demanding week! Feel for Robert, clearly a very committed coach. As for the photos, that is one amazing sunset. #mysundayphoto

So sorry to hear about the trophies, no wonder Robert was upset. I’m sure the parents wouldn’t blame him. Loved reading about how Aria sings with so much confidence, you must be very proud of her. Enjoy your nice long break from work!

It’s been so icy round our way too. We’ve had hardly any snow but so much black ice. Thankfully it’s all gone now I think. Such a shame about the trophies and bless your hubby, he sounds like a very caring leader. Hope they manage to get replacements very soon!!

How awful for your husband that everything went missing. He puts so much time into running the groups. I don’t think people realise what an effort it is to run groups. I hope it all gets sorted this week. Both Aria and Twilight look gorgeous in their outfits but Aria looks far happier!

Such a shame about the trophies. It’s always the important things that lose out.

What a shame about the medals. Have they turned up yet?. Lovely that people like your husband give up so much time.
We watched Stranger things not that long ago and moved onto Dark after it.
How lovely she sings her little heart out. Dinky stood on the stage and sulked.
We usually organise a small group of us who go for a Chinese and a few games of bowling but not this year for me

I do hope you managed to sort the trophies, that’s such a shame. Aria is looking so grown up! That sky is amazing, looks like it’s on fire x
