Where to start…. Well, last week I’d done my weekly photos post a little early as we had a wedding on Friday and let’s face it, I was picked up via the bus at 11:30 on Friday, who knew if I’d be up for writing the post on Saturday. Turns out that Friday didn’t quite go to plan. It started off with a poorly Tyler, temp and complaining of a sore neck. Then, Aria started complaining. I noticed a few spots as she jumped about my bed, as they do. Oh, you guessed it, she had chickenpox. Frantically, getting Lucas to school, lots of medicines bought and a trip to the chemist for every cream, lotion and potion under the sun to ease the chickenpox. She wasn’t too bad and both her and Tyler did some colouring in while I got ready. I was torn between my babies being ill and going to Robert’s cousin’s wedding that we’d said we’d be at and his whole family being there. My mum was thankfully watching the kids until we got home that night. I knew they’d be in good hands and were being watched at home.
I pulled those springy curlers out of my hair with half an hour to get ready and well, you can see the photo above, that Robert and I scrubbed up not too bad. Off we went, after many hugs and tears, from me. I may have texted and called home a million times, but all was well. I didn’t have much to drink as I knew I’d be up during the night with my poorly two. The wedding was lovely and was at a nice wee place with a gorgeous view. It was actually called The Vu. A piper of course and whisky. All good Scottish wedding and lots of kilts. I got home around 1:30am and Aria was up from 2am until 5am and then Tyler was up. So Saturday was a long and tiring day, with poorly and itchy kids. And a hungover husband. Thankfully, Lucas was ok.
The rest of the weekend was much the same. We stayed home, watched some films and lay on the couch. No football for us. Back to work on Monday and again torn about leaving them. I took Tuesday off and took Tyler to the doctors as his face was still swollen. He has infected glands, but to see how it goes and if it doesn’t go down, it’s back for antibiotics. Aria was starting to feel better and we went out for a wee walk for some fresh in, in the photo above. Thankfully, we got home before they both started puking. A panicked call to my sister in law to pick up Lucas from school football training as he was expecting me to be there. Thank goodness for family.
The kids were at their grandparents Wednesday and poor Lucas being the trouper he is has been at school on his own. Lots of kids in Aria’s class have been off with the chickenpox.
I’ve been knackered all week, but these pretty skies have kept me going, even with the autumn chill well and truly here. Skies, really are my happy place. Both of these snapped with my lovely new iPhone.
I was pretty gutted not to make it to see Santa last weekend, but it’s still early. Plenty of time for that. Today is Friday and I am off today, woohoo. The kids are back to school and fingers crossed they stay healthy. However, Robert’s ME has flared up. He’s very weak and sore, but resting and working from home. Tomorrow, Saturday, we are hopefully heading to Digital Kids Show in Manchester. We’ve never been, but the boys cannot wait. It looks fab and it’ll be nice to have a wee over night away. Keep everything crossed we survive the almost 4-hour car journey down.
It’s been a long week. I’m knackered, and to be honest, this bout of chickenpox has been easier than the last time, when I caught when the boys had it. The highlight of the week was Lucas scoring the only goal in the school football match. They didn’t win, but scoring that goal made this week.
What are your plans? How has your week been?

Poor Aria, hope she is better soon. Sounds like you had a nice time at the wedding even if the next day was a very tiring one for you. Those skies are gorgeous.
There seams to be a lot if cases if chicken pox around at the moment. I hope hes not too under the weather with it. #mysundayphoto
Oh you’ve had quite a week with everyone being poorly but glad they’re all ok now and looks like you had a brilliant time in Manchester today!i think we might have to take the boys when they’re a bit older c
Oh dear, it sounds like a tough week! I’m glad the kids are feeling better now. Hope you’re feeling a bit less tired! From your photos it looks like you all had a fab time at Digital Kids!

Chicken Pox is nasty isn’t it, hope Aria is better soon. I didn;t realise that digital kids show was on – Isaac would have loved it

Ah chickenpox, hope they don’t suffer too much.
The colours in those last two photos are amazing.
Thank you for linking up
I love that first photo, you make such a lovely couple. I’m sorry you have been plagued with chicken pox, my three had it earlier this year, but worse off was my eldest son, 29, he was so poorly. Thankfully there is treatment available for adults which help clear it up quickly. I’m glad you enjoyed the wedding and were able to make it. I hope this weekend is more peaceful for you and the spots are soon gone x
p.s. love your skies x
It’s a lovely picture of the two of you for the wedding. Typically bad timing on the kids being ill. Glad they are on the mend.
Oh dear! What a week you have had. I’m glad the kids are feeling better now.
I love the first photo. The wedding sounds like a lot of fun!

Not a great week healthwise then. Hope they’re over the worst of it now.

Hope you two little sicky kids are feeling better now! It seems last week was tough for everyone. It sounds like the wedding was great, and you two do scrub up pretty well!
#PointShoot
good grief they picked their time to be ill did they not? glad they are on the mend though. I agree with debating whether to go but as you say with your mum in their own home so there was not much else you could do. Though when they feel ill only mum will do.
You make a handsome couple
Chicken pox is rotten but at least it’ll be done and out of the way #PointShoot
Awww it was lovely to see you. I’m glad you made it to your brother’s wedding – it’s so hard to leave them when they are feeling poorly xx
Those skies are stunning, glad you got to the wedding #365
What a week for you! My son hasn’t had chicken pox yet and I dread the day when he does catch it. My daughter also got chicken pox when she first started school.
I hope the pox passes quickly! We haven’t had it here yet, you look lovely for the wedding! x
Oh, I hope everyone is feeling better! Round 2, ugh… Either way, great photos! Hugs to all. #pointshoot xoxo
