The Ultimate Coat From JD Williams

3rd November 2017 By Susan Mann 5 Comments

JD Williams

The colder weather had certainly kicked in, especially up here in Scotland. It’s baltic. Thankfully, with the lovely autumnal weather, it’s dry, bright, sunshine. I do love autumn days. With the chill in the air, out comes the warmer clothes. Not only am I a fan of the weather, but I am a fan of warm coats and knee-high boots. I needed a new coat and when JD Williams got in touch, I had a wee look at their website, I’d never used them before. I was pleasantly surprised by their vast selection and plethora of coats and boots. I have to say I will be back for more. This time I chose one of my favourite lines of clothing from the one and only Joe Browns, picking their Ultimate Coat. It is stunning!

Ultimate Coat

I wasn’t sure what to expect from JD Williams, having seen the adverts, I felt it might not be to my taste. However, I was wrong. The site contains so many different lines of clothing from Christmas clothing to women’s clothes, to men’s and kids. There is a first order discount offer at the minute too. I am loving their boots, and it’s next on my list to buy come payday.

Ultimate Coat Buttons

Joe Brown’s has been one of my favourite clothing lines for years now. I love the quality of their clothing and they detail that goes into it, along with the unusual design. Just look at the buttons on the cuff of this coat? I’ve yet to find something that makes me feel like I have an individual style piece on.

Tyler was my little photographer here, but this was about the best I could get at the time. The weather was pretty dreich. As you can see this coat has a fair amount of length to it and goes to just above the knee. I’m 5′ 4 1/2″ yes that half makes all the difference. It’s warm for those windy days, but not too thick that it can’t be worn when the sun is splitting through the trees.

Joe Browns Ultimate Coat

The coat is well made, with a gorgeous silk, flower patterned lining. Burgandy in colour, with buttons on the cuffs, the back and a quirky edge with off-centre assorted buttons and a flattering full-skirt cut. I got this in a size 12. I am a standard 10, but I like to get coats a little bigger so I can wear a jumper comfortably underneath. Do you do this?

Detail

I truly love this coat, it’s one I’ve admired for a while and it will last for years. It is dry clean only, but any mark I’ve had on it from grubby little hands has wiped off. This is the type of coat you can dress up for a date night or casual for the school run and everything in between. The colour is gorgeous and it is beautiful on. I love it.

In sizes 12-32, it would flatter any figure. At £90 it might be a bit expensive, but it is a staple wardrobe item and one that will come out year after year as the dark night draw in. I think it’s lovely. What do you think? I will be back to the JD Williams site, it has such a great selection. Have you bought from there before?

Disclaimer:- I was gifted this coat for the purpose of this review, but all words and opinions are my own. I love this coat.

I absolutely love Joe Browns! I ordered a coat that was a similar cut to this one a few years back, but unfortunately it didn’t look so good on a bigger figure. 🙈 typical! lol 🙂
