15th October 2017 By Susan Mann 15 Comments

Halloween Crafts for Kids

Yay, my favourite time of the year. It’s Halloween when I bring out my witch’s cape, hat, broom and black cat! Ok, they are my everyday attire! I love Halloween and these have been my favourite crafts to day. I would love love love to know if you make these and what you think of them. This month our craft box for Tots100 #BostikBloggers is Halloween in case you didn’t guess.

Halloween Craft – Owl Witch

Owl Witch Items

What you’ll need:-

  • Bostik Glu Dots
  • Scissors
  • Glitter card or any colour of card you have
  • Orange foam paper or orange card
  • Googly Eyes
  • Stars (optional)
  • Pine Cone

Sticking on eyes

Step 1

The first thing we want to do is use a Bostik Glu Dot to stick on the googly eyes to the pine cone.

Owl Witch Eyes

Step 2

Here we have the start of our little witch owl. Why not make a whole family?

Beak

Step 3

Next, we want to make the beak for our little owl. We used some orange foam letters we had. We cut it into a diamond shape to make the beak.

Adding beak

Step 4

Add the beak using a Bostik Glu dot or if it’s sticky backed foam stick it with that so it looks like above.

Making the witch hat

Step 5

Next, you want to make the Witch’s hat. We used two different colours of glitter card. You want to cut out a rounded triangle and a circle.

Step 5

You want your cut out items to look like above and cut a strip for the trim.

Step 6

Roll your triangle piece into a cone and stick with some Glu Dots. We cut ours in half to help them stick.

Step 7

Stick the cone onto the circle to make the hat.

Step 8

Add on the purple trim and stick with glu dots. There you have your super cute witch’s hat.

Owl Witch

Step 9

Stick your witch’s hat onto your pine cone and add a star or any other accessories. There you have your Owl Witch. What do you think? I’m off to look for more pine cones.

Halloween Craft – Friendly Vampire

Friendly Vampire Items

What you’ll need:-

  • Bostik Glu Dots
  • Black Cardboard
  • Pens
  • Scissors
  • Toilet roll tube

Making Wings

Step 1

The first thing we did was cut out our vampire bat wings. They don’t need to be perfect.

Cutting Bat Wings

Step 2

We wanted some thinner ones this time but plan to try out various different ones in time for Halloween.

Making the Body

Step 3

The next thing to make is the body of the Friendly Vampire.

Making the Friendly Vampire Head

Step 4

To make the head of the Friendly Vampire, you want to bend the top part of the toilet roll tube into the middle like above.

Friendly Vampire Face

Step 5

Next, we drew on a friendly vampire face. You can draw it however you want. This is how Tyler and I wanted him to look.

Adding Wings

Step 6

Lastly, you want to add on your bat wings. We used Bostik Glu dots for this.

Friendly VampireStep 7

How cute is our Friendly Vampire? We might try to make different Friendly Halloween toilet roll creatures.

Halloween Craft – Halloween Clay Items

Clay Halloween Items

What You’ll Need:-

  • Fimo or Polymer Clay
  • Utensils to mould and shape

Making Clay Witch Hat

Step 1

Having found a new love in clay after last months, Monster Crafts, I knew I had to share my love with Tyler and make some more clay items and we loved it. To start with you need to soften up your clay in your hands.

Rolling Clay

Step 2

We rolled our clay into two to make a start on our witch’s hat. Can you tell I’m a big fan of witches?

Shaping Hat

Step 3

Start to shape out the hat. A circle for the base and a triangle shape that flops over for the main part of the hat.

Shaping Witch Hat

Step 4

Put your two shapes together and mould into one.

Making Trim

Step 5

We then used the purple piece to shape and mould it for the trim.

Adding Trim & Buckle

Step 6

We rolled the purple clay into a sausage shape and a yellow piece to make a buckle shape.

Adding Trim

Step 7

Flatten it out and add it to the hat as the trim.

Adding Buckle

Step 8

Add the buckle and here you have a very cute Witch’s hat. We didn’t stop here, although this one might be my favourite craft ever.

Making a Pumpkin

Step 9

It’s not Halloween without a pumpkin is it? So, we made a clay pumpkin each. We started by rolling the orange clay into a ball.

Marking Pumpkin

Step 10

Flatten to top and the bottom of the ball and them mark the pumpkin indents using a tool. We used the ones that came with the clay.

Adding Stem

Step 11

Use a small piece of blown clay to mould into the stem.

Rolling vine

Step 12

Roll some green clay into a worm shape.

Adding Vine

Step 13

Then, move around your pumpkin as a vine.

Clay Pumpkin

Step 14

Lastly add some leaves and there you have our lovely Halloween Pumpkin.

Clay Halloween Ornaments

Here are our Halloween Clay Items. What do you think? We will definitely be adding a bat.

This has definitely been my favourite craft. Both Tyler and I loved these. He helped me make them all and made his own pumpkin I added in the photo above. What do you think? Which one is your favourite? If you give them a go, please send me a picture.

Pin for later.

These are so lovely because they aren’t scary for wee ones and pretty simple too. I will certainly be making some of them with my boy. #littlemakes
