Simple Monster Crafts For Kids

15th September 2017 By Susan Mann 2 Comments

Monster Crafts

Well, it’s almost Halloween, yes, yes I know, where did summer go and was it ever here? We are all back into the swing of things with school. What about you? This month our craft box for Tots100 #BostikBloggers is all about Monsters. Now I’m a huge Halloween fan, so this is bound to be one of my favourites. I’d love to know what you think of our crafts and why not give them a go. Send me your pictures of them on twitter, facebook email or leave a link in the comments below.

Monster Craft – Tube Monster

Tube Monster Items

What you’ll need:-

  • Bostik Glu Dots
  • Scissors
  • Crepe Paper
  • Felt
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Googly Eyes
  • Pen
  • Accessories

Covering the Tube

Step 1

The first thing we want to do is wrap the tube in crepe paper, tissue paper or even paint it. I used crepe paper and Bostik Glu dots.

Covered Tube

Step 2

Cover the tube with your choice of covering paper or colour. It should look like this and this is the start of your tube monster.

Adding Items

Step 3

Next, you want to start personalising your tube monster. First, we added some googly eyes. But you can draw some on too.

Eyes and Hands

Step 4

Once the eyes are in place, it’s time to add on some more accessories. We went for some hands. What will you choose?

Adding Feet

Step 5

How about some feet? We used these bits of felt to make feet. I cut them down and we stuck them on with the Bostik Glu Dots.

Extras

Step 5

Add on the extras you want. We thought pen for a mouth, along with some teeth.

Add a mouth

Step 7

Then some cute pipe cleaner antennas.

Tube Monster

Step 8

Our cute little Tube Monster. What do you think? I predict more of these in our lives.

  • Bostik Fine and Wide Glu Pen
  • Googly Eyes
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard

Black Paper

Step 1

Fold your paper into a triangle and cut so that it is in a square shape. Or use origami paper squares.

Fold in half

Step 2

Fold the square in half.

Fold in half again

Step 3

Fold the half in half so it’s a small square.

Cut a square

Step 4

Cut out one of the squares.

Folding

Step 5

Cut two of the little squares in half so you have a square and triangles like above.

SquareStep 6

Fold the triangles over and you have your basic bookmark.

Cut items

Step 7

Use the spare triangles you cut off as wings for your bat.

Sticking on wings

Step 8

Use the Bostik Glu Stick to put on the wings. Cute isn’t he?

Adding Eyes

Step 9

Add on the googly eyes.

Adding Teeth

Step 10

Cut out some little tiny white teeth and stick them on with your Bostik Glu Stick.

Bat Bookmark

Step 11

What do you think of our bat bookmark? I’m going to make so many of these. I had to put it on a vampire book, of course.

Monster Craft – Lochness Monster

Lochness Monster Items

What You’ll Need:-

  • Fimo Clay
  • Pencil
  • Googly Eyes
  • Base

Fimo

Step 1

Soften up your Fimo with your hands. It will get a bit of colour on them, but it washes off no problem. I loved using Fimo clay again, it’s something my dad bought me in my teens and I would make jewellery and other items all the time.

Making Worms

Step 2

Roll some of the Fimo clay into worms.

Making another hump

Step 3

Roll another bit into another semi circle worm.

Monster items

Step 4

Now you should have 3 humps and make a head. You should have something that looks like the above.

Lochness Monster eyes

Step 5

Add in the googly eyes.

Creating a mouth

Step 6

Use a pencil to create Nessie’s nose and mouth.

Loch Ness Monster

Step 7

Bake in the oven following the instructions that come with your Fimo. And there you have your own Lochness Monster. What do you think?

This might be my favourite craft yet. Which one is your favourite? The bat bookmark is my favourite. I did love using the Fimo though. I will be making lots of these. Will you be making one? I’d love to hear what you think of these and if you give them a go, please send me a picture.

Pin for later.
