It’s been a busy week since I last spoke. Our summer holidays came to an end and you can read about our Forest Holiday which I’ve finally blogged about. Great place if you ever get a chance to go. So last Sunday was our last day off before heading back to work. We didn’t do anything exciting. We did some baking, crafting, the kids played outside when it was dry and we had a wee family dinner of tacos together. Always a fun meal isn’t it when you get to build your own? Lucas started a new football class that evening called Futsal. It’s faster paced and played on a smaller pitch with a softer, not necessarily when it hits you, ball. We found out when one of his friends got hit in the wrist and ended up in A&E and we had his little sister for a while. Aria loved having another girl in the house to play with. Lucas enjoyed it and it will take a bit of getting used to, but gives him more exposure and it’s not run by his dad, who runs the football team he plays for.
Monday, well, we were back to work. Goodness, I missed the kids after being off with them all week and knowing the summer holidays were coming to an end, but needs must and all that. My mum had them Monday and they did lots of crafts and played outside. Tuesday, the kids went to my in-laws and spent the day with their twin cousins who were also there. They all get on so well, so it’s lovely for them to see them. They are all very close, the girls are in Lucas class at school too. Robert’s family is very close and it’s nice for them to have it. I don’t have any siblings, so no cousins on my side.
I took the rest of the week off work, so it was a short one. The weather was truly awful and it poured from morning until night. We played indoors. Baked some cookies, made sure our bags were packed and did some more starting school stories and prep with Aria. Then, it was early to bed after baths and stories. My stomach was doing summersaults the whole night.
Thursday morning came and all was going well. No tears and no “I’m not going to school” from anyone. The boys got ready and Aria got ready in her super cute kilt pinafore. We got a few pictures, but Aria wasn’t too keen and I didn’t want to push and upset her. It was a huge milestone I wanted to document and as you can see I got a few good ones. She looks adorable in the kilt pinafore, it is expensive, but well made. She also had a kilt too which we picked up this week. I will get some more pictures of this too before I do her starting school post. I love the colour on her and think it really suits her red hair. She is comfortable in it and that’s the main thing. She had on her magical school shoes, so she was ready to go. Robert took the boys to school. Don’t they look smart in their uniforms? I am so proud of them. I can’t believe Lucas just started his final year of Primary school, P7. Where has the time gone?
Aria and I waited about until the in-laws came to see her. She started at 9:30 and was desperate to see her best buddy. They both went in together and I got to go in and see them around 2:15 pm before they finished at 2:30. I will post more about it in another post. Starting school deserves its own post. As you can see, Aria was tired when I went to get her and I welcomed the little cuddle. There were no tears from her, so none from me. The boys enjoyed their day and were glad to see their friends again.
Friday was a bit of a later start for Aria. Again no tears, but I’ve picked her up early and she’s gone in through the office. Monday will be the real test.
I desperately wanted to see the Perseids last weekend but saw nothing. Did you see them? I did, however, get a very cool photo of the moon. Well, I thought so anyway. What do you think? Isn’t nature wonderful?
We didn’t plan anything much this weekend as we knew it would be a tiring week for the kids and emotionally draining for us. I am relieved, but my stomach was lurching while she was in. I did get a fair bit of writing done while I had a rare chance. Working hours are changing soon, so won’t get as much as I did this week. I feel knackered and drained this weekend.
Football is back to full swing with Tyler having training and Lucas having a match in the rain today. Tomorrow, Sunday Tyler has a match. Apart from that we are enjoying some family time, playing games, eating and maybe some tv.
What are you up to this week?

You have a much earlier school term start than in England and Wales, ans Aria lools really cute im her new uniform. I tried to stay up to see the meteors but didnt manage it. #mysundayphoto
Oh my goodness, HOW can Aria be old enough to start school!? Such a smart little lady and sounds like she’s got off to a great start 🙂 xx
Aria school uniform is fab. Every school round here has a very plain uniform. I’m glad she got through her first couple of days. We tried to watch the meteors but in London there was too much light pollution.
An exciting first week for Aria. He looks so lovely in her new uniform and matching the boys now. I hope next week is a good one for her. Amazing moon photo, it is something I’ve never managed to capture.
What a week for you! I love Aria’s uniform. She is so ruddy cute. The boys look very smart too! I hope next week goes just as well for your girl and her start at school.
Yay for football…I hope the weather is nice x
Oh wow, that is a major milestone. Aria does indeed look very tired after her first day. It’ll be out rurn in a few weeks with Izzy. As for my week, you really don’t want to know Sussan! #MySundayPhoto
Wow – school already. Lovely pictures.
So glad starting school went well. She looks lovely in her uniform! I look forward to reading your full starting school post.
Football starts back for my son this week. They have about four months off over the summer, so he will be glad to get back to it!
They look so lovely in their uniform, I hope they settle in to the new year quickly
Thank you for linking up
I felt emotional looking at Aria in her gorgeous uniform, she looks adorable! All your kids look really smart in their uniforms, I do love back to school photos. I’m glad going back to school and work wasn’t too stressful for you all. And your moon photo is amazing. x
I can’t believe Aria is off to school already. It only seems like yesterday that you announced your pregnancy. She does look lovely in the uniform.
OMG what a big girl starting school! She looks soooooo cute! It’s still weird to me that yours are back at school mid-August but I guess you know nothing different! Take care hun x
I cannot believe yours are back to school already. Aria looks so cute in her uniform and the boys are very smart too. Two weeks until routine resumes here
Kids aren’t at school at the moment but it will be a sad day! Sounds like you’ve been busy! #MySundayPhoto
Such a big milestone! That pinafore is gorgeous though and she looks adorable in it. We didn’t manage to see many meteors as it clouded over right at the last minute. Your moon picture is stunning though
How adorable does Aria look in her big girl school uniform?! Crazy how fast time flies. #MySundayPhoto
I can’t believe you’ve already all gone back to school. Aria looks just gorgeous in her uniform and I’m so glad she enjoyed it, that’s a really good start x
Wow, a milestone indeed – I’m so glad there were no tears – I will be in bits if Bubbles does that on Tuesday. we had a club this week and I was a wreck when I left him as he didn’t want to stay 🙁
She looks totally adorable in her little uniform!
I forgot all about the perseids annoyingly… She looks so sweet in her uniform, I hope she really enjoys it! 🙂 #sundayphoto
Awww, she looks super cute and grown up in her uniform. So glad it all went well. I have another year till my youngest starts school but she will be starting pre-school for 2.5 days a week from September and she will be taken into the main school for her dinners so it’s all feeling a little too close for my liking. She’s unbelievably excited though so fingers crossed she enjoys it. Hope this week goes well x
#HappyDaysLinky

Aria has such striking blue eyes, beautiful! Hope the children enjoyed their first day back at school x
I do love that pinafore and the colour really suits her.
The twins started nursery full time today, 8.40 am to 3pm, they are going to find it hard as well.
Bob would be P7 this year if he was at school.
Glad you were able to get to take her to school for her first day.
Oh that is a very cool
Photo of the moon! We are back at school this week too and I know what you mean as I have really missed the boys. The house is too quiet 😉 Thank you for linking up to #PointShoot 📸
Aria looks adorable in her kilt pinafore and your boys look very smart in their uniforms too. Hope the first week at school has gone well x
amazing how grown up Aria looks in her uniform – the blue in the tartan really brings out her eyes too. She looks so sweet and the boys so smart. I am so happy for you and for her that her first day went so well. It does seem odd to only return to school for 2 days mind, but I guess its a nice introduction for the little ones. xx
Oh my gosh, your little girl and her blue tartan dress!! LOVE HER!! It’s so confusing that you’re back to school already. I almost forget you’re in Scotland. We’re not back until 6th Sept so I’m holding on to these last few days x
So odd to hear people going back already when we still have 2 weeks. I guess it was the same for you when we were all still at school. How lovely are their uniforms though – that pinafore is adorable! Thank you so much for joining in #HappyDaysLinky xx
Love the school uniforms, hope it’s all going ok. Great moon shot #365
I work for a Scottish Company so a lot of people I know went back to school last week. I am loving the uniform it’s adorable! When Monkey started we had all combination of half days and half weeks. We are also only back for a couple of days I guess it breaks them in slowly! #ordinarymoments
A big step for your little lady. I can’t believe how quickly she has grown up. It will be our turn next year. I’m sure that year will fly past #MySundayPhoto
they all look so lovely in their school uniform, a kilt for school sounds exciting, how did her first week go?
