R/C Inflatable Despicable Me 3 Fluffy the Unicorn Review

20th July 2017 By Susan Mann 1 Comment

Despicable Me3 Fluffy Inflatable

My little boy Tyler got a remote control Minion for his Christmas last year and loves it, so when Despicable Me 3 came out, with it’s very own Fluffy The Unicorn character, Aria almost exploded with excitement. She could not wait to try out the new R/C Inflatable Despicable Me 3 Fluffy The Unicorn. As soon as I got in from work, we had to open the box and have some fun.

Despicable Me 3 Fluffy the Unicorn

Inside the box there is Fluffy and the remote control. Fluffy will need to be inflated, but she’s not that big, so it doesn’t take too long. We have an electric pump, so it literally took seconds. The remote control requires 2 AA batteries, which need a screwdriver for the back to be removed. And Fluffy requires 4 AA batteries in the base unit. This also requires a screwdriver to take off the back. Once they are in and Fluffy is blown up, you are good to go. Don’t forget to keep the instructions and repair patch which is also inside the box in case you missed it.

As you can see Aria loved Fluffy the unicorn. She is suitable for ages 3 and above. Aria is 4 1/2 so a great age for this. At around 35cm tall, she is just a perfect size to be played with and stored. It can be easily deflated for storage and re-inflated when they want to play again. The battery life is great too, as it switches itself off after a period of non-activity.

The remote control is simple to use. It has only two directions, which are forward and backwards. You can spin to change direction. It is not too heavy for little ones to use and all controlled through the one button. We’ve had no issues with it not working or controlling it. It does work a little differently to the minion ones in that Fluffy the unicorn moves in like a galloping motion, which is fan. It’s not as smooth, but just like she moves in the way you’d expect a unicorn to move. Pretty cool.

The inflatable is well balanced, reminds me a bit of how weebles worked, back in the 80’s. You remember the song, “Weebles wobble,  but they don’t fall down!” This doesn’t fall down. It is great and not heavy either for carrying about. It’s never tipped even at full speed. We’ve not had any issues with punctures and the material it is made with is very sturdy. The ones we’ve had in the past are well used and never needed repaired either.

Loving Fluffy

We have loved this toy. It is a lot of fun and it looks great. We had lots of fun racing this around the horse and watching Fluffy gallop along, like only a unicorn does. There are minions available with this, so you could race them about if you had both. They are perfect for little kids and those that are a bit bigger. It made one little girl very happy. I would recommend as a gift too for any Despicable Me 3 fans or unicorn fans. With an RRP £24.99 I think it’s good value for money. Available from Bladez Toyz Website

They are lovely aren’t they? Ours have had a lot of play, but they are currently living on a display shelf where we usually have LEGO models 😀
