The outside area is vast. With food bits, firepit, beach play area, park and more. It is amazing, you could stay here for weeks and not get bored. And just look at those views.
We were lucky enough to be there when the Rock the Lakes festival was on at Tattershall. This is an iconic festival of live music which is now into its 6th year. Both Friday and Saturday evenings and well as Sunday afternoon we were entertained with some amazing live bands. The music was mixed from sixties right up to date songs. There was something to suit everyone’s taste and the atmosphere was lovely. The fact you can see these type of bands, while having a drink and your kids playing around was fantastic. It didn’t go on too late, I think the last songs were about 10:45ish. My kids were sound asleep way before then, but I sat and listened to them from across the lake at our Tribeca, bliss.
The next day we didn’t have any activities planned, so we went for a wander around the park. The park is surrounded by 4 lakes. A lot of the caravans and lodges look onto the lakes and have private fishing areas. There is a lot of wildlife about and you will see lots of different ducks, birds, swans and geese on your travels. They are so cute.
Within the lakes there are loads of water activities to do. We are not really a watersports family, so we didn’t partake in any. But we did watch and enjoyed seeing all the different ones. From water skiing, jet skiing, ringo things and so much more. It was incredible.
The kids brought their scooters which was perfect for them to get around on. The ground is flat, there is traffic, but the cars do drive slowly and carefully. There are a lot going about on hover boards too which the boys were very impressed with. We headed swimming once we reached the complex. It’s good to get in early as it fills up fast. Best to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the hour as you can pick up a band for each for the next session. Each runs for an hour. It doesn’t cost anything extra to go swimming, but you do need your entertainment passes to get in. The pool is a relative size with life guards and a unisex changing and shower area. There are extra cubicles for busy periods. There are loungers, a sauna and a steam room within the pool area. We stayed for our hour and the kids had fun splashing about and swimming.
We had a spot of lunch back at the Tribeca, before we headed to do a spot of fishing. Well, we were at Tattershall Lakes, with all the fishing locations, it would be rude not to. We spoke to the resident fishing expert who runs the store there where you can hire fishing rods, purchase maggots, etc. We’ve never fished before, well, I have as a child, but no one else had. We bought a small travel rod which was great for them to try and at £14 it was good value as we have it for next time. We got a huge bag of maggots and off we set. A lot of the areas are private, so make sure you ask at the fishing store where is ok to fish. We didn’t catch anything, but it was a lot of fun and memories were made.
I loved watching the dragonflies. There were so many of them. None of us have seen them before, I don’t think we get them much in Scotland, but they were incredible. Just look at the colour and how electric they look.
We had dinner in the Tribeca that evening and listened to the music. Watching the sunset was incredible. I’d go back for this alone. Breathtaking.
The next morning we headed up for some fun in the swing park before some activities we had planned for the day.
The boys chose archery. Their instructor is one of the entertainment staff and she was lovely. She was funny, put them at ease and had so much patience. She was a delight. The boys loved it and you can see a bit in the video too.
Aria and I had some more fun in the park while the boys were shooting arrows. She loved the park. It was great because it was outdoors, but had parts that were covered to protect against the rain and importantly the sun. It was roasting on the Sunday. It was safe for her to run around, climb and be a kid.
There is a little putting green area just next to the park, where you can hire clubs and balls from the ball. There is also a football area which is enclosed so the ball does hit anyone close by. I am sure it has basketball hoops too.
Then we headed over to the island to have some family lasertag. It was so much fun. There was another kid who joined us, but it’s fab to do as a group. We played in teams, then any man for themselves. I’ve never done lasertag before and it was great. We all loved it and had lots of fun running around in the safety of the trees, hiding and trying to win.
After lunch we had a walk along to the other lake to see the wake boarders with a huge inflatable aqua park. You can just see it through the trees here. It looks incredible. My kids loved the look of it, but didn’t want to go on. Maybe next time, as there will be a next time. Honestly, if you have water confident and water sports loving kids, this is right up their street. If not, there are tons of other things to do.
Later on that afternoon, we did some tie dye t-shirts. This is something we haven’t done before either and had so much fun doing. The kids loved them. The only problem they had was waiting 24 hours and then washing and waiting until they dried before wearing.
Aria has wore hers pretty much every day since. Tie dying is our new favourite pastime and I need to get some kit of my own. Any pointers, please leave me a note?
We met these little creatures just before we headed out for a spot on the water in the pedalolo, which was fun and at only £5 for all of us, I thought was a great deal.
We ended the holiday with a last meal out together and the kids even had some candyfloss. There is a machine in the bar area that makes it. £2 a go, but it plays sweets for me sweet song from the 60’s and you get to watch it being made. Well worth the £2 and extra teeth cleaning that evening.
There is the arcade machines with their sparkling lights, enticing the money right out of your pocket into the kids hands. To be fair, there aren’t that many of them and with so much to do, we didn’t spend a lot of time here. The kids had some fun with a £1 each turned into 2p’s and played the 2p machines.
Did I mention that skies are pretty? My happy place. We really enjoyed the activities we did and there were so many more that we could have done. And when we come back, we will. The activities have different prices, so take a look before you go, book them in as they can get busy. They are all very reasonably priced in my eyes.
We were all so impressed with the holiday park in general, it really did cater for all ages. There were adults there enjoying fishing, water sports or the live music. Kids running around on their scooters or snorkeling in the pool or having fun in the park. Parents felt at ease with their kids in a safe environment. It’s great to let them go out to play and have the options of meals in, dinner out or a take out. We didn’t feel the need to do a full shop as we were only there for the weekend, but if we were there for a week I’d say book a Tesco shop and get it delivered. My next plan.
Check out our video:-
The shop onsite is extensive and has some hot and cold snacks. It’s a tad expensive, but not hugely and well stocked with alcohol and a few toys. There is so much to do on the park, that we never felt the need to leave. However, there are loads of places close by and all are mentioned within your welcome pack from castles to farm parks. It’s got it all.
We absolutely loved staying in the Tribeca and loved Tattershall Lakes. It was brilliant. So many great activities, excellent value for money, safe and we all had a ball. There is so much to do inside and out. I would go back in a minute. We will definitely be back here and plan to check out other Away Resorts too. We had such a brilliant family holiday and came away with so many wonderful memories.

Obviously I’d never need to stay in their caravans or use their facilities but I’m so happy to see how lovely they we’re and how much you enjoyed it! Its a beautiful park isn’t it?
