Football, Football And Cloud Dreaming – Our Weekly Photos Week 24

Last weekend we had a football tournament on the Saturday for Lucas team. I captured a few action shots of him. I only had my phone with me, so it’s not great, but I thought this one summed up the passion he has for football. He is an absolute joy to watch, the smile he has whether they win or lose is always there. He just loves to play, day or night, that boy will be kicking a ball or watching other play. Plus, being 10 he’s a bit tricker to get a posed shot these days. Thankfully, the game’s finished just as the thunder clashed, the lightning struck and the heaven’s opened.

Sunday, saw Tyler and his team play their matches at the tournaments. It was a gorgeous afternoon and the kids all played well and had a great time. The coaches and my husband Robert, who runs the club, do an outstanding job. The time and effort they put into it and the passion they have for helping and nurturing the kids is wonderful. I don’t think they get enough credit. We did have a bit of an incident last week where the gazebo blew away, it was pretty windy, and there I was chasing it about. Yes, a you’ve been framed moment if ever there was one. The end of the day, saw the kids get their medals. As you can see Tyler was chuffed to bits with his.

Phew what a weekend it was, I am glad to have a wee rest from football as that’s the season over until September. We still have training though, but it’s not nearly as much.

I have felt a bit off this week, I can’t put my finger on it, but I’ve not felt right. I’ve not been around much on social media, I haven’t been reading and just not me. Hoping it passes. I did go to my happy place of photographing pretty skies and clouds. This always makes me feel better. Aria and I spent a long time the other day spotting things in the clouds. I loved this as a child and still do. It makes me happy to pass this onto my children. They spot things all the time and then others are wondering what on earth they are talking about.

We are into the last few weeks of school before the summer, you know the busiest month of the year. Aria only has a couple of weeks of nursery left, so I’m trying to make the most of any afternoons I am off and take her places that are too busy over the summer, etc. Like yesterday, Friday, we went to Air Space. They have a toddler session that under 5’s can play without the worry of older kids bumping them, etc. It’s a lot of fun. You can see her above chilling out after a bouncing about.

The kids had the day off on Thursday for the election as their school was a polling station. They had lots of fun with my mum doing crafts, it was a horrid day. And well.. let’s not even bother talking about that mess that was the election results.

So this weekend it’s no football. We are catching up on something, like opticians and some baking and well just not having to rush as much. What are you plans for the weekend?  How has your week been?

Well done boys. How will you fill your weekend a now the season is over?

Little Miss OMG loves our trampoline. Our closest Trampoline park is Dublin we might have to visit over the holidays. Aria looks like she had great fun.

Hoping you feel a bit better soon. It’s amazing how much football your family does. You’re so right about the work and commitment of football coaches and managers. The other parents have no idea how much time they put in and that they do it voluntarily. Our season is well and truly over now.

It must be a relief for you when the football season is over, but the great thing about football is that children can still kick a ball around all summer. I hope you are feeling back to yourself soon.

lovely to have the football for them, but nice to get a break and get some of your weekend back. Totally agree so many volunteers go above and beyond for little or no recognition.
