Fun Times at TGI Friday’s

14th April 2017 By Susan Mann 5 Comments

TGI Review

We recently visited our local TGI Fridays in Glasgow last month and celebrated my mum’s birthday there. We don’t live too far away from Glasgow and it’s always nice to pop into the city. Plus the kids LOVE eating out together as a family. As I’ve said before, we don’t get to eat dinner together every evening, so we make the most when we do and we love it. TGI Fridays, had such a lovely fun, family friendly feel about it which which was apparent from the moment we walked in.

TGI Kids Menu

This was our first time visiting TGI Friday’s and it certainly won’t be our last. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and the staff were great. The only small thing I’d say was that because they are so great, they are busy and it does take a bit for food to get there. There is always lots of fun things to do and talk about though, so it’s not a big deal. TGI’s have a great family friendly approach to their restaurants and menus.

TGI Birthday Fun

The adult menus are particularly scrumptious and there is something to suit every taste.  My mum pictured here on her “undisclosed age” birthday is a vegetarian, she went for a vegetable pasta and loved it. She really loved it and it was the first time my mum has ever been out for a meal with me. Really! Long story, but she had a great time and it was lovely to see. The staff really went the extra mile.

TGI Kids Pizza

TGI Fridays do some fantastic offers, do check them out before you go on their website. Just now they are doing a offer if your kids turn up in superhero costume on a Sunday they get a free sundae! How cute is that? There is also loads of balloon modeling and the menu comes with a great little puzzle book that the whole family can fill in and discuss. Or just scribble all over it like my little one did. What is paper and crayons for after all? Tyler was chuffed with his pizza, how amazing does this look and really big too. I didn’t get a taste, but he assured me it was the best he’s ever tasted, even better than mine!! Yes, I tried not to let it hurt my wee feelings.

TGI Kids Meal

The kid’s menu is really impressive and is split into meals for younger kids called; the Little League, and then meals for older ones called; the Major League.  Tyler went for one from the Major league and Aria went for one on the Little League. She went for chicken nuggets, chips and beans. She loved it, albeit she didn’t eat it all.  I felt the portion sizes were good on both sides of the menus and the kids enjoyed them which is the main thing.

TGI Hotdog

I personally had the most amazing hot dog with chillies and fries. It was awesome. Robert had a burger from the extensive Gluten Free menu which ever came with a gluten free roll. You’d be surprised how few places do this. So, he was over the moon as you’ll see in the picture below. Lucas has a bit of a bigger appetite and went for BBQ Ribs and fries.

Fun of TGI

TGI Friday’s food and drink is fantastic, we really can’t fault it. The portion sizes aren’t too big and off putting, they are perfect and tasty.

TGI Kids Slushies

Aria was delighted to have a wee treat of a slushie. Just look at that wee face. She got to choose her own flavour and loved it.

TGI Fridays Kids Dessert

Us adults were too full after our delicious food to have dessert, but Aria had brownies and ice-cream. How good does that look?

TGI Sweet Dessert

Lucas and Tyler had this amazing dessert. How amazing is this? I instantly regretted not getting a kids dessert now. This is so what I am getting next time. I can pass for a child can’t I?

TGI Cocktails

I rounded off the evening with one of their lovely cocktails of a cherry variety and it was delicious.

I have to say we haven’t been to TGI Friday’s as a family before and now I am thinking why ever not? We will certainly be back, we absolutely love the food, the cost was excellent value for money, the staff were excellent and the cherry on the top so to speak with a thank you and enjoy your evening hand written on our bill. How nice was that? Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most. TGI Friday’s looks great with it’s American decor and music, but not only that it is perfect for families and it really makes you feel at ease when you walk in. We will be back again soon.

I’d love to hear about your experience at TGI Friday’s let me know in your comments below.

They have a great number of offers so don’t forget to check out their website and twitter for more information.

Family Fever

Disclaimer:- We were given a voucher to spend at TGI Friday’s and to be honest I wish I’d been there sooner.

A good few years ago we used to visit TGI Friday’s about once a month whenever we were in Newcastle having appointments before and after my girls heart surgeries. Now they’re once every couple of years we don’t bother…The food was always amazing and the cocktails are such a treat.
It looks like you had a fab time. It is such a family friendly place x

I walk past the TGI’s on Buchanan Street on my way to/from work every day but I’ve never been in…I think it may need to be on my list of indulgences after the baby is born (before I embark on losing the baby weight). It looks like the sort of place you don’t want to try and be healthy in!

I love that they do two levels of kids’ meals as my eldest is getting harder and harder to fill up but I’m loathe to feed him adult meals just yet!
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week x
