Cinema, Easter And Family Pets – Our Weekly Photos Week 17

22nd April 2017 By Susan Mann 28 Comments

Cinema Trip

Easter

Pets

Last weekend Aria and I went to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast while the boys went to the football match. We had a lovely time and I know I spoke about it last week, but I hadn’t shared the photo and I really like this photo. The rest of the weekend was filled with Easter fun. I always set up a wee Easter hunt the night before for the kids waking up in the morning. I just place little cheap eggs and a couple of small gifts around downstairs for them to search for in the morning. It’s become a lovely tradition and one the children all look forward to it. Look at their wee faces in the above photo. They are so excited to run around searching for eggs. We may still be finding the odd one or two a week on.

The weather was terrible and I’d planned a picnic lunch with some friends at another national trust property to do their Easter egg hunt. We have done this for several years and it’s always fun. However, it poured. The picnic was abandoned for a living room one. We still went and did the egg hunt as it was indoors at Pollock House. Always good when it results in a chocolate bunny at the end of finding the clues. Finished off with some fun Easter crafts. Family dinner followed at Robert’s sisters for a roast. It was a lovely end to a nice day.

Both Robert and I were off on Monday, Lucas had a party and the rest of us just hung about. We did a bit of shopping and spent some time together and had a nice dinner before it was back to work and school and nursery on the Tuesday.

It’s been a long week for a four day week. Tyler has been quite grumpy and cheeky, think he’s tired. Work has been super busy and a bit of a pain, so much so I told my boss I was changing careers. I am fed up. I was thinking fortune teller, or something else. I have a crystal ball already. What do you think? Obviously my dream job would be to write full time, but I am still editing my novel, so that’s all a pipe dream.

Then came Wednesday evening, when the guinea pig died. Tyler was so upset. It was his guinea pig after the other one dying a few years back. It was a sad day. Plus I think Twilight misses her a lot as the two of them had become good friends in the short time they’d been together.  She loves her boxes does Twilight.

I had the day off work on Friday to catch up with some stuff and did some writing and planning while Aria was in nursery for a few hours, then we had a wee afternoon of painting nails and baking before getting the boys from school. This weekend it’s back to football matches both days and training. Still the sun has been shining today, Saturday.

What have you been up to?

Work sounds hard at the moment, thank goodness for your lovely children. Poor Tyler with his guinea pig, so upsetting. Baking and painting nails sounds like lovely girl time.

Loving the image of the cat in the box. Looks so relaxed. Sorry to hear about the guinea pig, must have been tough for the kids (and parents too no doubt). Beauty and the Beast sounds good though, my two want to see it. Unless you’re into electric cars, you don’t want to know about my week!

Aww sorry to hear about your guinea pig. My kids love an Easter Egg hunt. Weirdly being a four day week at work/school for us has been extremely tiring. Definitely go for a career in fortune telling. The earrings and headscarf would suit you x

I’m so sorry about the guinea pig 🙁 Twilight does look sad despite being in a box. I’m sorry your picnic got rained off too, we were lucky as we went out for the day but it was just a little drizzly rather than real rain, and we had some sunny moments in between. I hope you manage to find a better balance with work x

Sorry to hear about your kids’ guinea pig. Unfortunately, they are exotic pets and are more complicated than dogs and cats in the illnesses they can get. People think they are easy to take care of but they can get sick easily and are such special little creatures. xx

How sad about your guinea pig. I know small animals don’t live for very long but it is very upsetting when the time comes.

Sad when a family pet passes away, sadly pets don’t live overly long. It is amazing how cats and guinea pigs can get on, you would think it would be in the cats instinct to attack.
Not been to Pollock park for a few years now.
nice to still get some girly time together.

Oh I’m desperate to see Beauty and the Beast! What a lovely thing to do together. It rained here for Easter Sunday too – luckily we had been to an egg hunt the day before, so didn’t feel so bad just having to do an indoor one! Sorry about the guinea pig, aw poor Tyler. Hope you get some more sunshine this weekend. x
