It’s been another busy week at work and I’ve been struggling with balancing work and kids. I’ve been so drained most evenings, I’ve been having a few early nights with some reading. The kids have been at school and nursery, filled in with football training and musical theatre.
I was without a car at the start of the week, so Aria and I had a nice long walk to nursery and back, we had a wee treat at the end of it which was nice. The boys had their parents night on Thursday evening. Both are doing really well. Lucas is doing great in his reading and maths. Learning about Algebra and reading above his chronological age. He’s doing well in his extra activities and doing well with his trumpet lessons. Tyler’s teacher adores him and he too is doing great at reading and maths, especially for being one of the youngest in his year. He is loving learning languages and both Robert and I were in awe when we watched him converse with his French teacher. No idea what they were saying, but she said he got everything correct. He is also loving learning Mandarin Chinese. I came away feeling like I was doing something right. Our reading together and our love of books is paying off. We were both proud parents and they got their treat of books from the book fayre. Plus side they money goes back into buying books for the school. Great idea.
I took a photo of the three of them on Friday before dinner, they are my world, their daddy too. And the more they grow, they more they amaze me every day.
I have loved reading The Worst Witch with Aria and Tyler at bedtime. This is one book that holds so many wonderful childhood memories with me. I loved this book and this may have started my love of witches. Bedtime reading is my favourite time of the day, no matter how hectic and stressful work has been, this makes everything better. What books have you been reading with your little ones?
I have been thinking a lot about my writing and setting goals, I love to dream while looking at a beautiful sky. This is what I was doing when I took the last photo.
This weekend the boys have their football matches, Tyler has a party and the boys are visiting a friend. Aria has been poorly on Friday night and not great today, Saturday so we have been having a quiet day indoors. Tomorrow, Sunday is my mum’s birthday. We are having a wee meal out to celebrate.
How has your week been? What have you been up to recently? Let me know in the comments below or drop me a message on my social media channels. Hope you have a good weekend. And the weather is better where you are. I am sure spring has by passed our part of Scotland. There isn’t a spring flower in sight and no sign of leaves or even cherry blossoms. Fingers crossed spring makes an appearance soon.
