Bunchems Mega Pack And Glow In The Dark Dinos – Review

28th March 2017 By Susan Mann 6 Comments

Bunchems Mega Pack

Bunchems Mega Pack

We are big fans of craft and construction toys here and we love spending time together building and creating various different collaborations together as a family. Myself and the children can often be found sitting at the kitchen table with all sorts of crazy craft equipment. We love it and it’s so much fun. We found a love of Spinmaster Bunchems just before Christmas and they have been a staple choice for creating and constructing ever since. This set here is the Bunchems Mega Pack and makes the perfect starter kit or gift for all children aged 4 upwards.

Bunchems What Can I make

The Bunchems Mega Pack comes with over 400 pieces within the handy box. 370 multicoloured Bunchems  and 37 accessories, in the form of wings, feet, eyes, etc, to add to the Bunchems creativity. There are instructions on created a whopping 36 different 3d creations from bears, cars, monkeys and more, but you are far from limited to these creations. Bunchems really is a product that lets children’s imaginations fly. The possibilities are limitless.

Creating with Bunchems

Bunchems are little coloured balls of plastic with little hooks on them like the hooks on Velcro. They work in a similar way to which stickle bricks worked when I was a child. Although they look different. They stick well together and are small enough they can be used to mould almost any creation imaginable. Sticking together, but simple to pull apart too. They aren’t jaggy if they are under foot and they can be moved around with ease. They are easy enough to pour out onto a table and when you are finished you roll them all back up into a ball and you are good to go. They are fab.

Bunchems Colours

I’ve tried to show in the photo above what they Bunchems look like. As you can see they have little hooks on them. The holes are on one side which are for adding in the accessories, they slide in easily and they can be pulled back out just as easily. With the parts being small, they aren’t really suitable for kids aged under 4. But they are great for all kids aged 4 and above. Adults have lots of fun too, they are addictive. The colours are super bright and there are loads of different ones in the box.

Making with Bunchems

As you can see you can just start building from the minute you open the box, you don’t have to follow any of the ones there, but they are a lot of fun to try and they look great. You can keep your creations for as long as you like, they start all over again. They don’t stick to the floor, carpet or sofa’s, they do however stick to your hair. I have seen a lot of people complain about getting them stuck in your hair and having to get the hair cut. Honestly, my kids range from 4-10 and we have never had any issues. I think it depends on the kids, mine wouldn’t do it and I have told them to keep them away from their hair. It’s not something I’d worry about.

Bunchems Glow in the Dark

Glow’n The Dark – Dinosaur Pack

The Bunchems Glow’n The Dark dinosaur pack makes a great addition to any Bunchems set or as a stand alone kit. Like the mega pack this set is filled with more of the little spur balls that you can squish together to connect and create little creatures and creations. This pack adds to the fun in that it is glow’n The Dark too. They look the same, but the colours are slightly different and once built, switch out the lights for glowing fun.

Glow in the dark Bunchems

In the Glow’n the dark set there are 40 Glow in the dark white, 40 green, 40 purple, 40 yellow and 40 red Bunchems. There are 14 accessories to add to the fun in the form of legs, eyes, etc. We mixed and matched the kits after making a few of the creatures from the instructions set. They are simple to follow and little boy and I had great fun helping each other out and following the instructions to make lots of fun creations.

Bunchems Bat

Our super cool bat was a lot of fun and you can see they don’t have to be perfect. It’s all about getting down and being creative with your children or letting their imagination go into overdrive. Watch what they come up with, you’ll be amazed.

Bunchems Cat

Younger children enjoy the sensory fun as well as the creative side. My little girl who is only 4 really enjoyed playing with these, there were no issues of not being able to get them to stick or frustration when’s she couldn’t create what she wanted. We made a few things together like this little cat. She named her mini Twilight after our kitten.

Building with Bunchems

Snakes or worms are always popular, simple to make and fun. No mess and they can be as long as you like. And as colourful as a rainbow.

Bunchems Dragon

The Bunchems Puff the Magic dragon might be our favourite creation yet, but who knows what tomorrow will bring. I cannot rate these highly enough, they are simple, a great price, clear up easily and most importantly they are fun. It allows children to use their imaginations as well as problem solving skills if they want to follow the instructions to make a certain creature. They are great for younger children to learn about colours, textures and fitting together, developing their find motor skills. You don’t have to be creative to give these a go, they are addictive and I may have been seen playing with them, well after the kids had gone to bed. They are great for the young to the old and grandparents love them too, no mess, no fuss. With Bunchems the possibilities are endless and we love them. We have purchased several sets that the children got with their money like the easel for taking to grans and using in the car. There are lots of addon sets, but you don’t need any more than the basic box and an imagination. Bunchems are fab and can be used time and time again.

Family Fever

Disclaimer:- We were given a Bunchems Mega Pack and Glow’n The Dark Dinosaurs pack for the purpose of this review, but we loved these before then and have purchased them before. I’m completely hooked never mind the kids.

Ok thought these were cute and a great idea however there is NO warning on the box about how easily they get hung into hair literally touch hair and you can’t get them out and the more you try the worse it tangles my daughter got her long hair cut super short because of these and it’s not like she is 4 or 5 she is 10 and it was completely just a huge mess. Worst present ever unless your child doesn’t have hair cause everything sticks to them and they look nasty after being played with ours are in the trash after getting my daughters hair chopped of from long to her ears DO NOT BUY
