Well we are into the second month of the year, well into it and I’ve still not written one of my favourite posts to write until today. Here we have the funny things my kids say. These are my all time favourite and I cannot wait to read these back on years to come. They make me smile. Little snippets of memories to treasure. This is why I love blogging.
I wanted to share all the funny things the kids have said recently. I hope the make you smile, like the ones I have shared in the past, The funny things my kids say, Dance Songs Edition, Zumberzella Edition and funny toddlers things. What are your favourite types of posts to read?
When walking about, it’s amazing the things that toddlers see. When I out last autumn with Aria she was amazing by the following:-
The Leaves falling off the tree, she was worried they were hurting the tree.
- “Look mummy, those leaves are naughty letting go of the mummy trees hands.”
- “Look mummy, the cat is in the circus.”
- Me:- “Why is that honey?”
- “It’s balancing on the wall. Can I do that?”
- “Look mummy there are fireworks in the sky.”
- Me:- “No honey, those are sparkling stars.”
Toddlers words are my favourite. Here are a favourite few we’ve had recently:-
- My foot is starving! – Pins and Needles
- Sheepies – Sheep
- Hills are small mountains
- Hillos – hills
Then there are the funny things they say:-
- “Mummy? That’s a naughty road. It made me bump my head.”
- “Mummy I have a pyjama coat.” – A pyjama coat with buttons up the front.
Then there are the bits you want a hole to open up and swallow you:-
- “Wow honey, that is lovely.” “Mum!! You have it upside down!” Storms off in a huff with her painting.
We’re snuggling on the sofa watching some “slush buckets” on tv as Little Miss says. “Swashbucklers” for those that don’t speak toddler.
The boys have come out with some funny ones too.
Lucas used “Liar liar chicken dinner” Think he may have got a couple of sayings mixed up there. Do you know which ones?
Tyler came home after being at the skatepark; “I slipped off the scooter. I was like bye bye scooter and I went down with it.” Funny boy.
And I will leave you with…..
“Mummy look there’s a cow driving along the road!”
I hope the made you giggle as much as they did me. Sometimes you just have to laugh don’t you. Parenting has so many wonderful highs and some not so good lows. It’s nice to hold on to those nice little moments, that make all the sleepless nights worth it. Don’t they?
I’d love to know what funny things your children have said or done? Do leave them in the comments below or a link to your post and I’ll stop by and have a wee read. Or feel free to give me a shout over on my social media channels. It will brighten my day.
I love the cow driving on the road! I can’t imagine why pins and needless would be like a starving foot!
(I used to blog about the funny things my kids said – it’s actually why I started my blog!)
Me too! I miss those days 🙁 My kids are funny, but in a kind of – you had to be there – way!
It’s the olden days isn’t it. I miss that too. I used to enjoy reading some of the daft things they said – and linking to it. Now my boys are boringly mainly correct when they speak! 🙂
Love how they always blame an inanimate object when they hurt themselves 🙂
I love when they get words wrong. Some of them have stuck in our house. Pins and Needles will always be Pins and Noodles! Thanks for linking up to #FridayFrolics
I love the first one about the leaves letting go of the mommy tree’s hand. That’s adorable. #FridayFrolics
Brilliant. It’s great when they come up with their own little words for things.
I love the one about baby leaves letting go of the mummy.

I love all the explanations children come up with for pins and needles. We have mainly had ‘fizzy legs’ 🙂
ha ha I love the slush buckets for Swash Bucklers and that a cow was driving on the road! Awwww may too have come out with some crackers over the years and I should have done this because you can forget them so easily xx
haha! They do say the funniest things. Keeps life interesting!

Haha – that naughty road! Love the idea that the leaves are not holding the tree’s hand – so sweet! Thanks so much for joining us for #FridayFrolics
Oh this is just brilliant, especially the last one! I love the things kids come out with! Thank you for sharing with #bigpinklink x
Oh these are funny. Love the cow driving on the road, the naughty leaves letting go of the mummy tree’s hands and my foot is starving. It’s funny how they mix up sayings too and Tyler’s description of how he fell off his scooter made me smile (although I hope he wasn’t hurt when he did!) Thank you for sharing these with #ftmob 🙂
