Shimmer and Shine Toys – Review

27th February 2017 By Susan Mann 7 Comments

Shimmer and Shine Toy Review

We are big fans of the tv show Shimmer and Shine here, so we jumped at the chance to review Shimmer and Shine Toys. Shimmer and Shine is a show on Nicky Jr., about the adventures of magical twin genies, Shimmer and Shine and their best friend Leah. Now you can have your own magical adventures with the Shimmer and Shine toy range.

Float & Sing Palace Friends Playset

The first one Little Miss couldn’t wait to get her hands on the Shimmer and Shine Float and Sing Palace playset. This playset is Shimmer and Shine’s very own living room in their palace. It is bright, colourful and beautifully decorated. The playset is the soft which you can sit the genies on their sofa, but the coolest part is you can hook one of them into the special holder and lift and lower them. Just like she really is a magical floating genie. We had so much fun with this, as you can see.

Shimmer and Shine Float & Sing Palace Friends

One of our favourite things about that Shimmer and Shine Float and Sing Palace Friends playset, is that when you press the jewel on the front of the sofa it says lots of phrases like “Boom Zahramay! Are you ready to play? ” and the catchy Shimmer and Shine theme tune. I will defy you not to sing that catchy song. I have been singing it for days now. “Shimmer and Shine oh oh oh…” The playset come with side pillows that are removable for their pets Tala and Nahal.

We loved playing with this set. It is a lot of fun and the dolls can be used with the playset and separately. Little Miss had them in her doll house as well on the magical sofa. We love that the sofa sings and your little one will be dancing round the sitting room in time to the music. I watched Aria chat away with the dolls, pretending them talking to each other and looking after their pets. The dolls are well made with posable arms and are a great size to take about with you. Their hair is bright and soft, brushable, but it is only the ponytail part that is hair the rest is the plastic colour, which I think is great as it holds the style and give them that funky hair look. The dolls both have detachable skirts, bracelets and shoes. The shoes are a little tricky to stay on, but easy to put on.

Shimmer and Shine Float and Sing Palace Friends playset  is for children aged 3+ and is priced at £29.99 which I think is reasonable value for money. Overall the playset is well made, there isn’t lots of fiddly bits, except maybe the genie’s shoes and the catch phrases and songs from the show are a lot of fun. The song is great and you will be singing it in your head for days. The genie’s move up and down the holder with ease and are easy to take in and out. We give this set a big thumbs up.

Talk and Sing Shine Doll

How about this fab looking doll? This is Shimmer and Shine Talk and Sing Doll, this particular one is Shine. Doesn’t she look great. Aria loved this doll, her body is soft and cuddly, perfect for taking to bed at night. Yes, she does. Not great if they roll over her as she sings and talks, but she is awesome. This one is my favourite out of the set. This is the ideal doll to bring magical, imaginative play to life. Whether you chose the Shimmer or the Shine doll, both have gorgeous sparkly outfit, a golden bejewelled headband and the most vibrant colour of hair to brush. The hair is soft and like the above playset only the ponytail is hair that can be used. It means it holds the style and looks great for years to come.

Shimmer and Shine Talk Sing Doll

Give her a hug to hear fun phrases and songs from the Shimmer and Shine show. The songs are great and the voices sound just like the show. Aria had great fun sitting with her dolls while watching the show and acting out what they were doing on the show. Aria loved this doll and takes her everywhere, she’s light, doesn’t have any bits that might fall off or get lost, she amuses her with her sayings and songs, this looks great and is a lot of fun.  The Shimmer and Shine Talk and Sing doll is £24.99 which I think is good value for money. She’d make a great gift for any little fans of the show and looks fab.

We love the new range of toys from shimmer and shine. We had fun granting wishes and having magical adventures. The toys are all well made, look great, are bright and colourful, we love the music and who doesn’t love a touch of magic. We highly recommend these toys, especially if you are a fan of the show.

Disclaimer:- I was sent these toys for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions are my own.
