A Visit To Santa – Our Weekly Photos Week 51

17th December 2016 By Susan Mann 25 Comments

Visiting Santa

Festive Big Wheel

Festive Kitten

We had a lovely Sunday last weekend of visiting Santa and doing all the festive things like the carousel, big wheel and listening to the elves tell a story. Then we went out for some food with my best friend I’ve known since I was 2 years old and her family. It was a perfect day. Everyone had a great time. Then it was back to work on Monday, the Monday night, both Aria and Tyler started to be sick. They took it in turns and by morning we were a bit zombie like. Aria missed her only nursery nativity on the Tuesday and we spent the day on the couch. Tyler was doing better, but just washed out. The next day I was at work and felt like the worst mum ever leaving her so poorly and upset. Thursday was the same.  Poor wee Aria had 4 days and night of constantly vomiting and not even holding a smallest sip of water in. By Friday, I called the doctors and took her down in the evening. She’d started drinking a bit of juice with some sugar in it and brightened up a little. The doctors said she was dehydrated, but since she was brightening a bit, see if she was still being sick to take her to the hospital. Saturday, today, she is a little better, but still not great. She’s holding some fluid in, so we will see how she goes. She’s lost so much weight and looks so pale. It will take some time to recover. It is such a worry, I’m still sleeping on the floor beside her. Tyler will be back to school on Monday and is excited he got his part for the nativity home for next Wednesday.  We are exhausted both mentally and physically. It has been hard being a working mum and with such guilt, I’ve struggled. I’ve never known a stomach bug to affect a child, well it hasn’t affected mine, so badly. Fingers crossed next week is a better week and we are looking forward to Lucas birthday next Saturday. Can you believe he will be 10? He had just turned 3 when I started blogging. I’ll leave you with a festive picture of our crazy kitten Twilight. How was your week?

Oh it is so hard when they are ill, i’m never sure what is worse, flu with a cough and blocked nose or being sick. Either way, they worry us. Lets hope she is on the way to recovery #MySundayPhoto

Oh Susan, I knew she was poorly, but I didn’t realise how bad she had been. This sounds horrendous. It must have been so hard and such a worry. I do hope she’s on the mend now, but it will definitely take a while for her to build her strength up again. x

Awww Susan I’m so sorry! I hope Aria is doing a bit better! Since I can’t give you a hug accept this virtual one! *huuuuuug* You’re a great mum, so don’t feel too beat up over going to work! For instance, if YOU were also poorly and couldn’t take care of her, you’d be in the same feeling boat you are now. You’re wonderful! Aces even! I hope Aria starts getting better soon! <3

Oh gosh I hope you all have a better week this week. There’s been a terrible bug going round the schools here with one having 25% of the children off sick. Best wishes for Christmas and New Year.

Nothing worse than your children being ill, glad to read she is on the mend but it is very very worrying.
How lovely to have had a friend since you were two, I moved home/country to often for that.
Glad the cat is enjoying the festivities as well.
