The Funny Things My Kids Say – Dance Songs Edition

9th September 2016 By Susan Mann 14 Comments

How did we get to September already? Hope you had a good Summer. We’ve been back to school for 4 weeks now, the holidays are a blur of wonderful memories made. Yours? We didn’t see much sun up here in Scotland, so I am hanging on to this funny photo of Aria on a rare sunny day just before the holidays.  These funny things the kids say posts are by far my favourite and I wanted to share all the funny things the kids have said recently, like the ones I have shared in the past, the funny things my kids say, Zumberzella Edition and funny toddlers things.

Dance Edition

Imagine you are wandering along the isles in the supermarket with your innocent little angel in the trolley seat, then all of a sudden she shouts out;

“Mama, Mama, shut up!” At the top of her voice.

Yes she was excited to hear the shut and dance with me song on. I got a few strange looks that day.

It is probably just as well it wasn’t Up Town Funk that was on as Aria calls it “Funk Up”.  She does like a bit of music.

Lucas found a piece of what he’s calling “moon rock” at school. Now Tyler thinks the moon is falling apart.

The boys were talking about the stone age and when there were cavemen, mammoths, etc – “Yes mum, just like Minecraft in the olden days.”

“Yes that’s right son!”

Driving in the car that other day and Aria says; “Look Mama, that truck is delivering cows.”

Then in the same car journey Tyler says; “Mum that car broke down, the man is away to get ink for it.”
“You mean oil?”

And on the same journey, Tyler and Lucas having a conversation; “Girls are made up differently. You’re made up of sand.”

I have no idea!

Aria – “Mummy can you read pieces and boots got new boots?”

Me – “Do you you mean puss in boots?”

Aria – “No Push and Boots”

I do love recording the funny things they say, these are the little things I probably won’t remember as they grow. When I read back, these are the posts that make me smile most and the ones I want to hold on to. You really have to laugh don’t you? I’d love to know what funny things your children have said? Do leave them in the comments below or a link to your post and I’ll stop by.

For now I’ll leave you here, it’s Friday and we have a busy weekend of football games for the boys and Aria has dance class. I presumed she’d want to go to football and follow in her brothers footsteps, but no she just loves to dance. And Tyler is not looking forward to tap shoes he says. He was having kittens the other day at the thought of Aria going to nursery in a Princess Jasmine costume as it showed a bit of her tummy. Goodness knows what the protective big brother will be like when she’s a teenager, snigger! What are your plans for this weekend?

Lol, kids come with no filter which is very comical. When my son says Funk You Up it sounds like the swear word! We get a lot of strange looks haha 🙂 xx

Kids can be so hilarious. Mine have come out with all sorts over the years but they’ve all gone out my head just now. I really need to start writing them down to look back on (and embarrass them with) when they’re older!

Very cute and funny. I love the way kids can be so literal. My mum once lost her voice and my son spent ages looking for it! Thanks for linking up to #FridayFrolics

Oh I do love posts like these. They are one of my favourites to write as well.

Little Miss OMG went through a phase of liking shut up and dance. Thankfully she’s too smll to shout out Shut Up in the supermarket yet.

Makes sense a truck with a cow print on it would be delivering cows.

How funny that Tyler was being over-protective of Aria wearing a Princess Jasmine costume – the protective big brother thing kicks in young! I’m quite relieved for you that it was “Mama Mama, Shut Up!” that Aria shouted in the supermarket and not “Mama Mama Funk Up!” and I love her thought that the truck was delivering cows. Thanks for linking up to #ftmob 🙂

I agree, it’s so easy to forget these funny things that our children say, that recording them in this way is such a good idea! You must have all the smiles when you’re reading these posts back! I love that Aria has a very over protective older brother already! That will put your mind at rest when she’s older!! I love that Aria thought the milk lorry was delivering cows-when you see how the lorry is decorated, it’s easy to see how that link would be made! And girls are made is sand! Classic! My children mainly say things about my tummy and bottom being wobbly like jelly…! Mmmm, not sure whether I should laugh and jot it down, or try and block it from my head!!
