Airhogs Zero Gravity Batmobile – Review

14th June 2016 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Zero Gravity Batmobile Boxed

Got a Batman fan in your household? You need to check out Airhogs Zero Gravity Batmobile. This toy not only looks cool, but it great fun and can be played with on the ground, on the walls and even on the ceiling. My boys were desperate to play with this as soon as it got delivered, but it’s not a toy that can be played with straight away. It takes 6 AA batteries, yes 6, and then it needs to be charged for a few hours. To charge you plug the cable from a hidden compartment, in the remote control device, which hosts the batteries, into the batmobile car. Once it’s charged, the fun starts.

The Airhogs Zero Gravity Batmobile will race all over the floor, up the walls and even onto the ceiling driving upside down with ease, following the Bat symbol light which you produce from the controller, by pressing the red button and aiming. This works by the infrared sensors responding to the Bat symbol. It doesn’t matter if the bat symbol is light when playing during a bright day, but it does work much better and look great when the room is darker. The car itself can go in five different directions and zooms about with ease.

In our living room, we have quite smooth painted walls with a few pictures. The boys room doesn’t have a lot of wall space available so it didn’t work great there. The ceiling was fine though. However, the ceiling in the living room wasn’t great as it is textured. It definitely works better on smooth surfaces. The car moves up and down and even upside with ease.

The charge in the Batmobile doesn’t last that long though and you will need to charge the car before playing again. We have had other Air Hog toys in the past and although they are excellent, work well and a lot of fun, they do need charged a lot. It is a downfall when it comes to play time. Not ideal when you have two boys both wanting to play. But, it doesn’t take too long to charge.

Batmobile on the ground

At an RRP of £44.99 it is very expensive especially when it needs charged A LOT. I’d look out for deals, if I really wanted it. I do think it’s expensive for what it is, but it is something that is different and fun. If you have a fan of the Batman Vs Superman film, I think they’d love this.

Airhogs Anti Gravity Batmobile Fun

We have had a lot of fun with this toy, but it has been on constant recharge, play, recharge again and play. It has been played with again and again. The boys think it’s great. It is light and can be transported over to Grandparents house. The walls have never been marked with the car and we’ve not had any problems with it sticking. It also works really well on the floor. We have wooden flooring in the living room. It doesn’t work as well on carpet. The recommended age is 8 upwards. I think this is right as my boys are 7 1/2 and 9 1/2. They could both work it well, but with having to re-charge it does take a bit more patience than younger children have. And the ability to keep the bat symbol in the car’s sight. It is also not the strongest of cars, you need to be a little more careful. This is why I would recommend it for 8 and above.

Why not speed from the streets of Gotham to the floors of your home with the Air Hogs Zero Gravity Batman vs. Superman Official Movie Replica RC Batmobile and have lots of fun with something that is a little different.
