The Funny Things My Kids Say – The Olden Days

24th May 2016 By Susan Mann 15 Comments

Baking Cakes

I’ve said this many times on my “The Funny Things My Kids Say”, but they really are my favourite posts. You can read one of my last ones on the funny things Aria said. Do you record any of the funny things your children say? These are the funny things that they have been saying recently, honestly they crack me up. I think a lot of our funniest moments are walking home from school chatting, at the dinner table, driving in the car or even at bedtime. They are so sweet and funny the things they say.

One day Lucas comes home from school:-

Lucas:- “Look what I found at school?”

Me:- “What honey?”

Lucas:- “Moon Rock”

Me:- “That’s cool. How do you know it’s moon rock?”

Lucas:- “It looks like the moon”

Me:- “Ok, it could be.”

Tyler:- “Does that mean the moon is falling apart? What if it falls on my head?”

I do sometimes feel my 7 year old has an answer for everything, just me?

Me:- “Tyler, stop arguing.”

Tyler:- “I’m not arguing.”

Me:- “Yes you are.”

Tyler:- “You don’t know what arguing means.”

Now where do you go with that? Bangs head against the wall.

Tyler’s comment on the picture above:-

“That picture was taken in the olden days it’s black and white.”

Explaining how mothers and father share blood with their children:-

Tyler:- “Does sharing blood mean it comes squirting out your feet? Or invisible line.”
We were talking about death for some reason:-

Lucas:- “When you die and are in the clouds, why can’t we see them when flying?”

While watching a film, it was Harry Potter, Tyler says:-

“Can you cuddle my eyes?”  I had to hide his eyes at the bits he found scary, bless.

One of the funniest things is when our car reverses both boys say:-

“The car is melting backwards”

This does make us laugh as it’s the beeping noise it makes, the parking sensor, they think sounds like melt melt. I wonder how long they’ll think that’s what a car does?

When I was heading to Manchester for blogon:-

Tyler:- “I know why I was sick last time we went far in the car?”

Me:- “Why?”

Tyler:- “I wasn’t feeling well.”

Can’t argue with that logic.

He then pipes up:-

Tyler:- “See when there is a road and big trees either side?”

Me:- “Yes?”

Tyler:- “That’s England.”

Me:- “Ok, I’ll keep an eye out.”

Good to know I won’t get lost.

These posts certainly make me smile remembering the funny things they say and do. They are such sweeties and are growing at such an alarming rate, this make these even more special. Until next time. I will keep recording the funny things they say. And can’t wait to look back on these in years to come. Maybe even make a wee book of them for when they are older. What funny things have your kids said this week? I’d love to hear them, do leave a note in the comments, I am sure they will  make my day.

I love these! I especially like the blood squirting out of the feet!
I actually started my blog 5 years ago especially to share the funny things my kids say! They don’t say quite as many now, though, so I have to blog about other stuff!

lol they are funny. Aww really? Mine has certainly changed over the last 6 1/2 years. I think it becomes different the things you’d share about them. I know I’m the same with my oldest. Hugs xx

I love your updates on the funny things your children have been saying. I can see Tyler’s logic on the moon rock front and Lucas’s logic on asking why you can’t see people when flying if they die and are in the clouds. “Can you cuddle my eyes” is such an adorable way of Tyler asking to have his eyes covered up and “the car is melting backwards” made me chuckle. Thank you for linking up to #ftmob 🙂
