PLAYMOBIL 5495 Advent Calendar Fire Rescue Operation Review

17th November 2015 By Susan Mann 5 Comments

Christmas is approaching, yes it is, there is no getting away from it, we are on count down mode. Even more so now, we have been having fun with our first advent calendar. However, this is no ordinary advent calendar, it was a PLAYMOBIL Fire Rescue Operation Advent Calendar. This really is the creme de la creme of advent calendars.

Playmobil Advent 5495

I know we shouldn’t have been opening before the 1st of December, I am usually very strict on this, but we just couldn’t wait. Tyler took the odd numbers and Lucas took the even numbers so he could open the one on his birthday. It’s the small things isn’t it?

Opening Advent Calendar

The boys couldn’t wait to open this, so we did a little You Tube unboxing vlog and building. Have a wee watch and let us know what you think.

The advent calendar look great and behind each door is a lovely reward to count down to the big day. Once you have all 24 surprise items you have everything you need to make your Fire Rescue Operation happen. There is even a fab little card game to play. Which we thought was a great addition. The Playmobil Fire Rescue advent calendar builds into a motorcycle workshop setting with a fire within scene/backdrop or diorama. Don’t worry there is everything you need to put the fire out. There are four figures including two firemen, a fire vehicle, water hose, extinguisher, motor bike, tyre, tools, a cute little cat and many more accessories to have your scene come to life. Perfect for some imagination fun.

The cardboard background is a little tricky, but setup within a few minutes. Putting the items together easy to do and the boys had theirs build and being played with quickly. There were a few bits and pieces they needed help with , but overall it was  easy to fit together and it looks great.

Advent Calendar

Both boys have been playing with this everyday since it was built. Driving the vehicle around and putting out pretend fires with the hoses. Each items has been thought out and completes the set as a whole. There are many ways to play and lots of fun to be had.

Fire Advent Calendar

.Like all Playmobil products, the quality is excellent. Each part molded perfectly and there aren’t to many fiddly bits. Each figure is brightly coloured and has all the accessories they would need to carry out any rescue mission. Normally, I’d expect advent calendars to have a Christmas theme, this doesn’t at all, with the exception of counting down the days. I don’t think this is a bad thing on this occasion, spending the extra amount on this type of advent calendar you’d want more than a few days or even a week’s worth of play out of it. The Playmobil Fire Rescue Operation isn’t just for Christmas it’s for life and it’s a lot of fun. I am definitely going to make it a tradition to buy a toy type advent calendar from now on. They are exciting to open and a lot of fun.
