Dream Town Rose Petal Cottage – Review

27th October 2015 By Susan Mann 5 Comments

Rose Petal Cottage

The Rose Cottage from Dream Town is one of the most beautiful children’s indoor playhouses I’ve  ever come across. It is extremely well made and built to last. Everything has been thought through down to to smallest details. I am a huge fan of playhouses, even as a child. Playhouses or Wendy houses as I knew them back in the eighties inspire imaginative role playing and the freedom to explore their having their own house. built to last for years and inspire children to explore the freedom and excitement of imaginative role play.

Rose Petal Cottage Parts

All the parts come with the box and there is no need for anything extra which is great. I was on a roll with the frame and built the adorable little over and hob, which Aria played with while I built the rest of the house. Putting on the cover was a bit tricker than I thought, I got it wrong the first time, but after that I have put it up and down a few times without any issues. There is a great video online for help with assembly, I’d recommend checking it out.

How great does the cottage look when built? Aria and I love it. It was also the first thing the boys played with when they came home from football that day.

Rose Petal Cottage

The Rose Petal Cottage has many wonderful features including an opening door, which as I said before, they have thought about everything, it even has a little magnet on the handle to hold it shut. There is a letter box for posting through some fun mail, windows with shutters which open out, a shelf which you can add a few light items to, a mirror which Aria couldn’t help but look at herself in and a photo frame you can put a photo in. It really is a little mini home.

Mirror

Aria’s favourite part of the Rose Petal Cottage is the play cooker. It’s the perfect height for her, had dials that turn and an oven door that opens and closes. Within the oven is a shelf you can add a few light dishes too and had some painted on cake tins. She has been having so much fun pretending to make dinner and cakes just like I do in the kitchen. We all have to eat them too.

Oven

Being made of a steel frame this playhouse will be there for years to come and will grow with Aria. There are additional playsets that can be purchased, which are already on her Christmas list to Santa. The tea time set which consists of a table and chairs and a kitchen set which has a washing machine and sink, built in a similar way to the oven.

Rose Petal Cottage Playing

I was struggling to get a picture of her staying still, she was very busy in the cottage collecting her mail, playing with the oven and bringing in her toys. Down to the last detail, this is perfect for role playing and imagination fun at it’s best. The material over the top of the frame is extremely thick, but not too thick that it doesn’t let in light. The broderie anglaise trim makes it look like a little country cottage.

Dream Town Rose Petal Cottage

I have taken the cottage up and down a few times, it does take up a fair amount of room, but does look great. And you can store all that is required for playtime in the cottage itself. When taking it down, it comes apart easily and stores in the box it came with. Really, it all fitted back in. The cover zips off and on without any issues. Then back up it goes. However, it’s now became a staple item in our playtime, so I’ve just left it up. We all love it and think it’s one of the best toys out.

 Playing

Aria and I had lunch together in the house, which is a lot of fun. Lots of pretend cooking and adventures have been happening here.

Do check out the video which gives more detail on the Dream Town Rose Petal Cottage.

I adore this toy and at an RRP of £99.99 it is expensive, but it will last and bring years and years of joy. You can add to it and it is built to last. With the addons there is so much more you can do. The attention to detail is beyond any toy I have seen and all the interactive features like the working door, mirror and shelf are a delight. My little girl, who is 2 1/2, spends a lot of time chatting to her toys in here and you can see the imagination growing. I think would make a perfect main Christmas gift and I know I will be buying the accessory sets for Christmas.

Rose Petal Cottage has an RRP of £99.99 and is available from Argos and other toy suppliers. You can also purchase coordinating accessory sets including the Tea Time Set (RRP £19.99) and the Kitchen Set (RRP £44.99). It is suitable for children aged 24 months+

Disclaimer:- I was sent this item through to review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I love this item way more than I thought possible.
