This week’s The Gallery prompt is Time on the lovely Tara’s Sticky Fingers Blog.
Time doesn’t stand still, it’s continually moving forward, moving no matter how much we want it to stop, take a step back and breath in the air. Time spins around us, like a twirling hurricane. Time doesn’t like to stand still.
What I love about my blog is that I can capture little moments in time. Whether you have troublesome toddlers or teens, you will want to freeze those moments in time, immortalize them. I can look back and re-live those memories. However, don’t capture all those moments in time, sometimes you have to be in them. Experience them or you’ll miss it. As a blogger, I know it’s hard. Your memory is a wonderful snowglobe of pictures, a little shake and you will see so many.
My Uncle sent me through a picture of my dad from when he was younger, possibly before I was born. I don’t remember him looking like this, I guess as children, we don’t think of our parents having a life before we can along. I only have a couple of pictures of my dad and none in fact of him and I. I love how happy he looks in this picture. He is clearly living in the moment, having fun, chatting and I was briefly, even just for a moment, transported back in Time to when he was alive and I could hear his laughter once more.

Lovely photo! I love how photos can take you back to a memory, even if you weren’t physically part of that moment captured.
I love looking back on old photos of my parents before I was born, it’s so strange to think they had lives before us isn’t it? And our kids will think the same as us in future years!
Lovely photo! I love looking back at all the old photos but it seem that since my parents had us, they hardly take photo of themselves. Which is the same as me! I hardly have my photo taken!
your words ring so true Susan, and it is why I started my blog too.
That is a wonderful photo of your dd, another memory to capture on here and look back on and to show your children as time passes. xx
What a lovely photo to have.
Time is such a confusing thing, we rarely seem content in the now, either looking back or forwards.
Lovely photo of your dad, he looks so happy. Memories are so important for us, aren’t they? xxx
I love this photo, and I can see him in your babies, you can tell where they come from! Time is an odd one isn’t it, you are either reliving it, or chasing it, but never really appreciating the now! Its very conflicting. I am so glad you have a happy picture of him as I know how much you miss him. Lots of love xxx
I absolutely love these ‘caught in a moment’ photos – they tell so much more of a story than something that’s perfectly posed, don’t they? And check out that fondue set! Brilliant!! xx
Blods are just perfect for capturing moments in time, you are right. That is a great pcture of your Dad, so 70’s with the fondue set. Mich x
These kind of photos are wonderful, so genuine and tell so much and show much happiness. It looks like they are having a great dinner!
