My little girl is a big Dora fan, unlike the boys she didn’t watch the original Dora with Boots, etc. She loves Nick Jr’s Dora and Friends Into the City show. She loves the tune and even used to dance to it as a baby. We are looking forward to meeting Dora and joining in with the singalong I blogged about yesterday, if you didn’t see it, make sure you read and go along and meet Dora at a place near you over the Summer. On Nick Jr this Summer every day between 10am-1pm lots of your children’s favourite tv shows will include on-screen karaoke lyrics to all of their songs. Allowing your children to sing-along with Dora and Friends: Into the City, Wallykazam!, Alvin and the Chipmunks and more. As part of the Summer celebration we have been playing with some of the new Dora and Friends toys.

The first one we looked at was Dora Smartphone, Aria loved the phone. It is well made, sturdy and looks great. It’s just like the one that Dora uses on the show. You can call and talk to Dora and her friends. To use, you press the screen and it dials, either Dora or her friend answers and chats to you or even sings a little song. Aria had lots of fun using the phone to chat to, pretending to take pictures and dancing to the tunes. It is also bilingual with lots of songs and phrases. At £9.99 I think this is definitely good value.

The Dora and Friends Magic Charm Bracelet really makes the show come alive, the bracelet itself allows you to recreate Dora and her friends adventures you see on the show. The bracelet comes with charms of Dora and her best friends Alana, Kate, Emma and Naiya. What I think is really lovely about this toy is that it comes with two other bracelets that you can share with your friends of your mum as Aria did. She is a little on the younger side at just 2 1/2 to appreciate this one to it’s full extent, but she loved wearing them. What is more each of the other Dora and Friends toys come with an adventure charm you can add to the bracelet. A lovely touch. At £9.99 I think this is great value for money.

My favourite out of the toys was the Dora and Friends Dolls. I am a huge doll fan and these didn’t fail to disappoint. They are well made, look great, the clothes fit well and they have lovely hair that you an brush and style. We had Dora and her friend Alana to play with. Dora was clearly the firm favourite and both dolls look like their characters on the show. They both come with an adventure charm to add to your bracelet. With an RRP of £10.99 I think this is a great price for each doll.

The Dora Magic Adventure Charms play pack includes a Dora and Friends figure, a charm bracelet and three adventure charms. The figure we tried out was Alana. I really liked these little sets, the figures were sturdy and their legs bet. You can play with them and they are small enough to carry about. The charms are a lovely little extra which add onto the bracelet for wearing, playing and sharing. What I liked about them was that you could add the dog, football, etc charms to the bracelet for storage at the end of play so they wouldn’t get lost. These little figures are perfect for role playing fun and at £7.99, I think they are excellent value.

All the toys are by Fisher Price so they are suitable from aged 2 upwards and more are available at Smyths Toy Stores and online. I think all the toys in the range are of excellent quality, look the part and are a great price. I really can’t fault them and we have had a lot of fun playing with them.

Don’t forget you can take part in the #DoraSingAlong Twitter Frenzy on Monday 27th July 11am-12pm for your chance to win some great prizes.
What do you think of the new Dora and Friends range? I think it is excellent value for money and will be looking at more for Aria’s Christmas.
