My youngest boy Tyler loves nothing better than baking or crafting with me, which I love. Being a working and busy mum, I don’t always have huge amounts of time to bake from scratch. When I came across the new craze Yummy Nummies Mini Kitchen Magic kits, I was intrigued and had to check them out. Yummy Nummies started in Japan, of course, allowing children to create miniature food items that look and taste just like the real thing. Not only do they taste good, but they are super cute.

We set out to make some pizzas and some cookies for dessert.

Everything you need to make these great little creations is in the box. Well with the exception of water and a microwave. You don’t even need any mixing bowls or utensils, everything really is inside the box. You can a plastic preparation and cooking tray, utensils and three packets containing the ingredients. Tyler read and followed the instructions himself, measuring out the ingredients, stirring, mixing and preparing the mixture. He put it all in the tray and I popped into the microwave. After only a few seconds it’s ready to add the sauce and cheese and ready to be served. It’s so quick and smells like the real thing.

They might be small, but they are tasty and got a huge thumbs up from both the boys. However, you must remember these are a bit of fun, a food craft if you will and are not designed as a food replacement. It’s like take away pizza for dolls.
Next up, we made some cookies. You’ve got to have a bit of dessert now don’t you.

Following the same format as the pizza kit, the cookies kit contained a preparation tray, utensils and three packets of ingredients. All you needed was some water. Again Tyler followed the instructions, adding in the correct amount of scoops of cookie mix, adding in the correct amount of water, mixing with the cute little spoon and then putting into the trays. Next was the fun bit of adding white of milk chocolate chips. Tyler went with white chocolate, he’s got good taste.
Into the microwave for 15 seconds and they were cooked. They were easy to come out of the moulded tray and the looked and smelled great. For the tasting part.

They tasted great. The were exactly like real cookies you’d bake, but in miniture and ready in 17 seconds. These were really surprising. I was not expecting them to turn out as well as they did or even taste nice to be honest, but they were. They won’t replace the real thing, but it was simple, easy and a lot of fun to do.
These look so interesting! I hadn’t seen anything like them until a couple of days ago on another blog….They look like a lot of fun x
They are a lot of fun. Tasty too x
My dad and I made the yummy nummies today and neither one of us liked it. Hands down just horrible. I deserve a refund! The 4 for $4 at Wendy’s is the way to go! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT LIKE I DID!!!
It is expensive for what you get. A pkg of cookies makes 10. The tray holds 4 cookies each. Why not 12 per pkg. I think a better way to cook with a child would be small baking pans and a toaster oven. Less waste for the landfill and probably better tasting.
